Track : 1 Title : Fly (Relight Orchestra vs. Camrick Remix) Artist : Samuele Sartini feat. Wendy Lewis

Italian hotty Samuele Sartini gives us this slice of disco candy. From the soaring vocals, the throbbing bassline, hand claps and horns…all the elements are in place for classic in the making.

Track : 2 Title : Disco Fever (Starlet DJ’s Club Mix) Artist : Klubkidz

It doesn’t get anymore generic than this; and that’s why I like it! “He disco DJ won’t you play my song”.

Track : 3 Title : 2 Hearts (John Michaels Almighty Mix) Artist : Kylie Minogue

Okay, I readily admit I’ve never been a big Kylie fan. But before I set all the queens hair on fire and have threats to take my Gay Card away, I thought I’d give everyone my Kylie story. Certainly everyone has one, and this is mine:

In 1988 I had just packed up and moved to Dallas where I was going to attend school at the University of North Texas. The minute I arrived and unpacked my U-haul, I showered up and proceeded to head 3 hours south to Houston. My boyfriend and a bunch of friends from South Texas were meeting up for Pride week and I didn’t want to miss out on the fun. I had already contacted some straight friends (let’s call them Joe and Monica) who were living in Houston and soon to be married, to let them know I was coming down. They agreed to meet up with some of their friends in Montrose (the gay district) that evening. I ran into them at “JR’s” a popular bar. Soon some friends I was to be staying with showed up and I was informed I better get my ass across the street to the “Mining Company”, because my boyfriend was drunk and about to go home with some guy. I jetted across the street only to find that he had already left. Feeling a little tipsy, I went back to JR’s to find my straight friend Joe dancing to Kylie’s “Locomotion” and acting kinda…well, queer. I guess his fiance didn’t seem to notice because she and her friends were busy ogling the male dancers on top of the pool tables. I tried to explain what was going on, but he kept insisting that I agree the ‘’Locomotion'’ was like the best song ever! The next thing I know, he grabs my hand, takes me around back and unzips me and then just goes to town. After the well had gone dry, I soon forgot all about my boyfriend. While Joe and Monica ultimately got married, they divorced several years later due to his excessive drug use. I hope he’s doing well.

So that’s my Kylie story. Not really much, but better than me going on about how terrible the vocals are on this song. Sorry.

Track : 4 Title : Tiny Dancer (Moto Blanco Mix) Artist : Marco Demark feat. Casey Barnes

I’m not sure what all the buzz is about this song. There are a slew of remixes including a half-ass decent one by Deadmau5. Who knows, maybe everyone knows or hears something I don’t. You be the judge.

Track : 5 Title : Don’t Drag Me Off This Dancefloor (Original Extended Remix)

Another scorcher! Expect a big push in February when it’s officially released with a slew of remixes. Until then check out the cheezy video.

Track : 6 Title : Any Love (The Orange Factory Mix) Artist : Stephen Keyes

I haven’t heard much out of Orange Factory in a while. So this was a shock to hear this very retro production. Not the kind of mix their known for. Anyway, I give them two big thumbs up for this mix. I can’t help but think about those old disco songs by producers like “Alec Constandinos”, “Boris Midney” and “Cerrone” to name a few. Their music was strictly made for the clubs and not radio. They were able to sell more albums by using provocative images on the front cover. In fact, the nastier the pic, the more copies you sold. Many of their albums are now considered classics, not just for the music but for the artwork on the front cover. Yes, I am a devout disco die-hard; not only dedicated to the mainstream stuff that appears on Rhino comps.

Track : 7 Title : Your Love Sets Me Free (Extended Mix) Artist : Platinum Project

Hmmm, I think I’ve been duped. This was released in 2006 and I can’t find anything about new mixes coming out. Oh well, great song.

Track : 8 Title : Taking Chances (Ralphi & Craig J Mix) Artist : Celine Dion

For all the brouhaha regarding the album cover and people convinced that it’s really a good dragqueen that looks the part, Celine still manages to deliver. However, choosing Ralphi & Craig to do the remix honors, shows just how out of touch her management is. Let’s face it, they’re great producers, but when it comes to uplifting house, they aren’t exactly the king and queen of the ball. Just listen to the butcher job Ralphi did on Beyonce’s “Irresistible” last year. I did manage to edit down this 9:00 minute opus to a more reasonable time frame, making it more enjoyable.

Track : 9 Title : Until The End Of Time (Groove Connection Remix) Artist : Justin Timberlake & Beyoncé

Definately not my favorite song from his FutureSex/LoveSounds album. Yet, there are a slew of mixes including the inevitable Jason Nevins mix. Frankly, I think Johnny Vicious & DJ Escape get the honors for best mix. However, the Groove Connection gets honorable mentions for making it palatable while remaining funky at the same time.

Track : 10 Title : Gorgeous (Craig C Master Mix) Artist : Idina Menzel

The next single from the “gorgeous” singer/songwriter/actress. Masterful and elegant, this mix is once again okay. I can’t decipher the difference between Craig J and Craig C. Frankly, I think they’re one in the same. Faster than it should be for this type of house. That’s okay, I slowed it down to give it a chance to breathe. I did find this wonderful deep house version which at the time I purchased the mixes on ITunes wasn’t available. Check it out.

Track : 11 Title : The Boss (Love In The Club Mix) Artist : Kristine W

The first three mixes are out and the Love To Infinity is currently tops! Can’t wait to hear Johnny Vicious and Wayne G’s take on the song. I was kinda hoping she might enlist Moto Blanco or 7th Heaven…who knows, maybe for other releases off her new album “The Power Of Music”. This really is going to be a great year…new Kristine, new Madonna, kinda feeling the new Janet as well. Boy, I’m gonna be busy!

Track : 12 Title : What Hurts The Most (K-Klass Remix) Artist : Cascada

Finally Yanou included a bevy of other mixes other than the standard 145 BPM fare that just sucks straws. Granted, it’s been a winning formula, but diversity is the key to crossover success. Frankly, I thought re-doing the huge Rascal Flatts tune was a wise choice. K-Klass give it that great modern house touch that really pulls it together. Listen to the candlelight version of this song and you’ll think you’re listening to Carrie Underwood. Yeah, Cascada can sing.

Track : 13 Title : Let Me Know (Ian Green Club Mix) Artist : Róisín Murphy

Taken from one of my favorite albums of 2007, “Let Me Know” is an absolute masterpiece! From the original album version to the amazing Joey Negro mixes (which landed in my Year-End Edition), we now have a total re-working by Ian Green who really kicks it up a notch. This will have to do until the next single “You Know Me Better” comes out in February with a remix by Andy Cato of Groove Armada fame. If you’re not persuaded yet, check out the video and Roisin’s quirky personality…just love her!

Funky Edition 2008 v1 (Take 1)

January 5th, 2009 · No Comments

First and foremost, I am extremely ecstatic about the elections on Tuesday. Looks like we got ourselves a two-way horse race between Clinton and Obama. Anyone that has been following the political blogs, realize just how passionate both camps are about their prospective candidates. What has concerned me is the vitriol hatred geared towards Hillary. Based on the supposed polling data which gives her an unfavorable “likeability” rating; I suspect most of this is driven by the media. So who exactly did they poll? Frankly, after New Hampshire, we saw just how reliable those polls are. The unjustified criticism Hillary has received, is unprecedented. When you hear someone like the ass-wipe Chris Matthews from MSNBC, publicly state “the only reason Hillary became a Senator and is now running for President is because her husband messed around“. Huh? Well if that’s the case, the only reason George Bush became Governor of Texas and subsequently President of the United States is because his last name is “Bush” and his family has a shitload of money. C’mon, where’s the logic? After that, every Hillary supporter took up arms against this sexist remark and his subsequent statements that followed, attempting to justify his position. Though not as blatantly asinine, CNN hasn’t faired any better in their own commentary. That’s all well and good, because the voters are the only people that count and I believe are smart enough to cut through all the bullshit being shown on the idiot box. Thank God for blogs where we can better serve up opinion and commentary to respond to things we either agree or disagree with; albeit in a more civilized manor. The closest we have right now on TV is C-Span, but that forum does not lend itself to healthy debate.

After Super Tuesday, we’ll have a clearer picture who will be the Democratic nominee. I’ve made no bones about the fact that I am a Hillary supporter. Regardless, if it does turn out that Barak succeeds in his bid for the nomination, then I’ll be right there lending my full support. Ultimately, I would like to see a Clinton/Obama ticket run for President; if not, an Obama/Clinton ticket works just fine for me. Now, after John Edwards gets his ass whipped in his own home state of South Carolina, will you please get the hell out of the race! Governor Richardson, thank you for having the good sense to drop out after New Hampshire. As Democrats and Independents, let’s come together and go into the National Convention united with one common goal; to rid the true axis of evil from Washington.

Speaking of evil (you know I had to lead into it somehow), I’ve got a really wicked mix cooked up for all you funk heads! Side one is pure disco heaven that truly satisfies. Side two, well let’s just say that’s for the die-hard disco fan. Some of the stuff harkens back to the underground disco of yonder, whiles others are just simple mainstream fare that I couldn’t work into side one. It was either make this a single disc, or go ahead and serve up volume two for the loyalist. Either way, it won’t disappoint.

Enjoy!

Disc : 1/2

Track : 1 Title : My Life Again (Avalon Superstar Mix) Artist : Lauren Hildebrandt

Former winner of the ill-fated “Fame” contest on NBC, Hildy is back with another dance number and her first album currently in the works. This song fares considerably better than “Dance With You” from 2006. With a slew of producers on board, there is certainly a mix to please everyone.

Track : 2 Title : Like This Like That (Extended Vocal Mix) Artist : Se-Sa feat. Sharon Phillips

This song is SMOKIN! It could have easily gone on my Tech Edition about to come out, but worked really well here. If the part of the hook sounds familiar, it’s because it was lifted from Dee-Lite’s early 90’s hit “Groove Is In The Heart”. Check out the video.

Track : 3 Title : Work (Freemasons Club Mix) Artist : Kelly Rowland

Another winner from Kelly. Is it me, or does she sing much better than Beyonce? As usual, the Freemasons serve up a delicious mix that builds up and then 3 minutes later, drops down into a more club friendly hip-hop mix before building back up again. Solid! Here’s a taste someone put together from the original video version with the Freemason’s radio edit. HOT! HOT!! HOT!!!

Track : 4 Title : Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But The Rent (Wayne G & Porl Young Mix) Artist : 7th Heaven feat. Katherine Ellis
Yippee! Someone finally had the common sense to re-do this late eighties dance classic by Gwen Guthrie. While 7th Heaven deliver a solid production, it’s the Wayne G Mix that get’s my vote. Also check out the Fonzerelli mix on Tech Edition about to come out. With lyrics like

“A fly girl like me needs security ‘Cause ain’t nothin’ goin’ on but the rent You got to have a J.O.B. if you want to be with me Ain’t nothin’ goin’ on but the rent You got to have a J.O.B. if you want to be with me No romance without finance, I said no romance without finance”

Then you add vocals by the ever-fab Katherine Ellis and you’ll know why this is one of the hottest songs in a long while. This is definitely going to be Katherine’s year as she has another sizzling number with the Freemasons to be released by the summer. You go girl! Here’s the original for those who’ve never heard of it.

Track : 5 Title : Pull My Trigger (Soul Tornado Remix) Artist : Firefox

As the title suggests, there is a sexual element to this song. Lyrics are pretty silly, but the song is catchy as hell. Once you hear it, you’ll be feeling the urge to get a little naughty on the dancefloor. Check out the original electro version.

Track : 6 Title : Don’t Give Me Your Life (7th Heaven Club Mix) Artist : Shanie
I knew I had heard this song before. Apparently a huge hit back in 1995, this song get’s a re-work with the original vocals. 7th Heaven pulls it out again.

Track : 7 Title : Breathe You In (Eric Kupper Remix) Artist : Samantha James

2nd release from Samantha’s album. The lead single “Rise” from last year, initially premiered on one of the Hed Kandi comps, drawing tremendous interest from a multitude of producers. Much like that song, “Breathe You In” comes with many a remix. I included the “Soulful Mix” on my deep edition and went for Eric’s mix here. While more subdued than the songs surrounding it, Eric Kupper adds a big fat bass line to keep it just funky enough.

Track : 8 Title : Heat You Up (Melt You Down) (RedSoul Club Mix) Artist : RedSoul feat. Andrea Love

The (digital) debut release on Playmore Music is RedSoul & Andrea Love - Heat You Up (Melt You Down), a cover of the 1983 Shirley Lites classic! Chicago diva Andrea Love is best known as being the voice behind the worldwide smash ‘Praise Cats - Shine On Me’ amongst several other huge club tracks on labels such as Purple and Subliminal. RedSoul is best known for tracks on Generate & LAY, together with remixing the likes of Kelis & Jazztronik. (taken from Traxsource.com)

Track : 9 Title : Bring It Back (Original Mix) Artist : Soul Survivors feat. Angie Brown

Originally released on Hed Kandi back in October of last year, I’m in wonderment as to how I missed this one. I need to start paying more attention to that series. Fortunately, it showed up in my December promos. Blazing song featuring the very talented Angie Brown most notable for her early nineties remake of “I’m Gonna Get You” with Bizarre Inc.

Track : 10 Title : Just For You (Soul Survivors Remix) Artist : Michelle McManus

Winner of the 2003 “Pop Idol” contest (the original version of “American Idol”) in the U.K., Michelle signed a deal with Sony/BMG. The first album spun a number one single but failed to muster passed that. Frustrated with the direction her label was pushing her, she and Sony agreed to part ways. Taking control of her career, Michelle has appeared in the “Vagina Monologues”, written a memoir “You Are What You Eat” and just completed a new dance album better suited to her tastes. You go GRRRL!

Track : 11 Title : Bleeding Love (Moto Blanco Vocal Club Mix) Artist : Leona Lewis

Leona Louise Lewis is an English singer-songwriter and winner of the third series of the popular television talent show “The X Factor”.

Her debut single, “A Moment like This”, was released in December 2006, breaking a world record after it was downloaded fifty thousand times within thirty minutes. Her second single “Bleeding Love” was the biggest selling single of 2007 in the United Kingdom. Her debut album, “Spirit”, was released in November 2007, and became the fastest selling debut album ever in both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. (taken from Wikipedia)

Expect a full out assault here in the U.S. this spring. Not only can this girl sing, but she’s H.O.T. to boot! Check out her video.

Track : 12 Title : Some Kinda Rush (7th Heaven Pure Joy Remix) Artist : Booty Luv

The debut album by Booty Luv is the album that just keeps on giving! This is the fourth single taken from that album with an amazing remix by 7th Heaven. My understanding is that they are working on a new album to be released later this year. Can’t hardly wait.

Track : 13 Title : Just Fine (Moto Blanco Club Vox) Artist : Mary J. Blige

Remember the uplifting Bobby Blanco remix of “Be With You”? Well, using their winning formula, Moto & Blanco have another “hands in the air” dance floor smash. I absolutely just love this song. Try it out, it’ll make you feel good all over!

Year-End Edition 2008 v8

January 4th, 2009 · No Comments

Well, it’s been one year, over 80,000 downloaded mixes (includes two separate Podbean accounts that were eventually merged and a 4shared and Megaupload account that were later rolled into Podbean) and 200+ subscribers.  All I can say is WOW!  I never in a million years would have dreamt that people actually appreciate what it is I do for fun.  Now that I’ve gotten a good feel for the workings of this site and what people (including myself) like in the mixes, I’m hoping to make 2009 an even better year.  I absolutely want to thank the Guest DJs who have shared their work with this site and hope to continue our relationship through the years as well as bring in some fresh talent.  Heck, I might even try to sucker up to a few prominent DJs and see if they want to offer us something…you never know.

I also want to thank those of you who have come through with your donations not only recently but throughout the year.  Without those donations, this site would NOT be possible.  After all, music isn’t cheap when you do your best to support the artists and my Podbean account (which has now been upgraded to a business level account, at least for the next several months while I get all of the links restored) costs money.  Frankly, I think everyone prefers the convenience of streaming and direct downloads that their service provides and the ability to run it through iTunes for those of you who use the service.  These are some of the fabulous comments I’ve received along with the various donations:

“GREAT TALENT ISN’T CHEAP AND CERTAINLY NOT FREE :)

“To continue Keith’s great blog!”

“OMFG your BTucker series is Fantastic. I luv her. Thanks for all your hard work, it is so appreciated. Keep it up.”

“Your last mixes are awesome (i know you hear that always from me, but what should I say other).  Keep up with your nice work.”

“Firstly let me heap praises on your blog, after years of buying cds and spending £1000’s of pounds i have at last found somewhere i can get music that i enjoy and makes me want to listen too. You have a real talent and i thank-you for that. Its not very often i can listen to a whole album without skipping through tracks, with your thought of tracks and mixing its a pleasure.”

“I just recently found your blog and really APPRECIATE the mix sets you produce for all of us.  I’ve found so many gems thanks to you!  I am infatuated with “Heaven” by Pepper Mashay (Fed Conti mix) – it’s a wonderfully creative and fun track.  I LOVE IT!”

“A friend recommended your site/mixes… great job! (and we’re NOT easily impressed”

“really i can’t find a word for u to say excellent magnificent brilliant perfect love ur mixes so much . Kisses muahhhhhh”

“thanks for all the great music… all my friends are loving it!!!! =)”

“Awesome work!!! Discovered you a few days ago, and have enjoyed everything I’ve listened to. Sent some $$ your way, and will continue to support your endeavors! Keep it flowing!”

“hi there - just wanted to say thanks for the mixes - very cool and much appreciated : )”

“Just sent you some $$ - loving the mixes here. Hope the ca$h thing works out…”

“Just learned about this website. INCREDIBLE stuff.”

“Keith, no one can touch your Deep Editions! That is your forte my man! Ears always perk up and people always ask when I pop one of those in as my soundtrack. Thanks!”

“Nice blog Kj! Awesome mixes! Keep up the great work.”

“…anyway, damn did it again, anyway, your mix this week is hot, I always look forward to fridays to hear the new mixes, keep them comin, and HAPPY PRIDE!!!!!!!”

“Amazing site!!! Good Mixes. Thanks Kjam”

“Estoy escuchando ahora tu musica, es censacional y quiero decirte que aprecio mucho tu trabajo “

Words cannot express how much I appreciate these remarks.  All I can say is that this is a new year, and I plan to make this site better than ever.  However, for now, I need to take some serious time off to recharge my batteries.  I feel like I’ve been on this mixing marathon since the election in early November.  I might come back in a couple of weeks with the first of the Diva series for 2009.  If not, the next Winter Edition will go up the last week of January or first part of February.  In the meantime, I’ll be cleaning up this site, restoring links and hopefully provide better overall functionality.  I think I had mentioned the possibility of changing the series titles this year so here goes:  The Deep Editions will now be called “System Edition”, the Electro-Funk series will now be called “BPM Edition” the Classic Edition will be called “Chrome Edition” the House Edition will now be called “T-Dance Edition” the Diva series and the Original Party Favorz Editions (i.e. Spring, Winter, Pride etc.) will remain the same.  I think the new titles provide the listener with a better sense of what genre(s) the mix provides and gives me more latitude to drop in a variety styles within the mix, especially on the Deep and Electro-Funk mixes where I felt a little constrained by the title.  Additionally, I think the Year-End Edition is going to be split up.  By that I mean, at the end of May or first week of June, I plan on creating a “The Year So Far Edition” or something to that affect which will contain tracks released between December 2008 through May of 2009.  This way the second installment in December will only contain tracks from May or so through the end of November.  This just makes more sense and will certainly make my job much easier.

I hope everybody had a great weekend.  Once again thanks for the overwhelming support, generosity and kindness you’ve expressed towards me and my little hobby.  And of course always…ENJOY!

Keith a.k.a. Keiwi <—ooh, forgot to mention, I’m no longer going by K j A M and have officially changed it to DJ Keiwi, a hybrid of my first and last name and is pronounced just like the fruit, kiwi.  Plus, green is my favorite color, so it better reflects who I am.

Year-End Edition 2008 v7

January 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

No doubt artists like Katherine Ellis and Amanda Wilson had a stellar year working with a variety producers.  While not everything hit as well for Amanda, her releases at the latter part of the year were spectacular, particularly “Keep the Fire Burning” with the Outsiders.  That slice of heave produces two top notch mixes by Freemasons and the increasingly hot Wawa.  I expect this will be tearing up dance radio and the clubs in the early part of 2009 here in the U.S.  Katherine on the other hand could do no wrong.  Every project she lent her incredible voice to was pure magic.  From 7th Heaven remake of “Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But the Rent (originally a number hit for Gwen Guthrie in the late 80’s), Cerrone (amazing French disco producer from the late seventies still going strong), her very own band Bimbo Jones (betcha a lot of you didn’t know she’s part of their team) and everything in between.  God bless this woman, I worship at the diamond encrusted altar she stands on.

However, no one and I mean no one had a better year than Robyn, our little pop queen from the mid-nineties shrugged off her record label and formed her own production company Konichiwa Bitches and released a critically acclaimed self-titled album simply called Robyn.  She effectively slammed radio and the club charts with six, count them 6 amazing tracks from that album with stellar remixes in a variety of genres (seven if you include Konichiwa Bitches that was released in 2007), all of which are in included in this year-edition series.  Coupled with a world tour that even opened for Madonna in Europe, this girl has it going on.  It’s amazing what an artist can achieve when they take their career into their own hands.  Robyn, you rock and here’s looking forward to your future endeavors!

After finally having some beautiful weather for the past several days, the ATL is back to cold, wet and dreary.  I guess I knew it wouldn’t last, it seldom does this time of year, but I’ll take what I can get.  As we get closer to the final year-end mixes, I just want everyone to know that these year-end editions don’t necessarily represent my best mixing.  I only say that because when I have to work with a set list of songs with little room for deviation, it’s not uncommon to run into some tunes that don’t mix together as well as I’d like.  In particular, this mix starting around track 10 through 14 doesn’t exactly thrill me, but the whole point of these mixes is to recap some of the biggest and best tunes of the year.  I don’t think anyone’s ears will be terribly disappointed, and hey, if you prefer the songs with better mixing, everything here has shown up at one point or another on one of this year’s countless mixes I’ve completed (sometimes more than once).  If it’s not currently available, it will be in the coming weeks, so keep checking back.  For now, I bring you the 6th installment of the year-end edition with two more on tap.  Enjoy!

Year-End Edition 2008 v5

January 1st, 2009 · No Comments

2008 was an unprecedented year for politics.  The first serious black (Obama)and female (Clinton) candidates for President duked it out in a primary that received more votes than any presidential election in history.  Huge sums of money was raised like no one had ever seen before and had the Republicans salivating at the future prospects of grassroots fundraising on the Internet.   This is also the year that the housing market took a nosedive setting off a worldwide recession and massive job losses all the while gas prices shot through the roof.  Equally, gay rights/equality finally took center stage after the passage of Proposition 8 in California which barred gay marriage and effectively defined the institution as only being between one man and one woman.  Frankly, I don’t really care about the word “marriage” but I truly believe that gay people should have the legal right to become enjoined in some form of government sanctioned matrimony, thus affording them all the legal entitlements that heterosexual couples enjoy, from children, property, taxes and everything in between.  More than anything, gay people should be treated as equals in all aspects of society, instead of being relegated to second class citizenship.  Let’s hope the motivation of the gay community stays the course in 2009 as we continue to demand these basic fundamental rights.

As predicted last year, I expected the music to become looser and just plain fun.  Digging in the crates, DJs pulled out the seventies (disco) and eighties (new wave) to create a whole new era of fun and frivolity.  People want to put life’s difficulties to the side and just have fun, if only for a moment.  Call it a resurgence or resurrection or anything you want, I’m just happy to bring it to you.  The evidence is contained on the four remaining year-end editions.  These are my picks for the smoking hot best in electro and funky house music or electro-funk if you will, for 2008.  Hey, if I can get you to shake your ass, bounce your head and put a smile on your face, then I’ve done my job.  I’ll be rolling out the remaining mixes the next couple of days.  When I’m done, I will be taking a long break from everything.  In the interim, I’ll be replacing several links to previous mixes that had been removed due to limited space in my Podbean account.  So keep checking back, because that one you may have missed will likely be available again in the next couple of weeks.  I’ll be back tomorrow with v6, until then…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  XOXOXO

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 v9 (Take 3)

December 15th, 2008 · No Comments

Seven mixes, two weeks and 18+ hours of the latest in deep, electro, funky, progressive and soulful house music later, I have finally finished the Christmas Trifecta!  I can assure you that I’ll NEVER do this again.  There is way too much work involved in putting this much out in such a short period of time.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, initially this was just going to be the final Electro-Funk mix of the year, but it evolved into the final editions of Deep and House as well.  Frankly, I’m just glad it’s done.  I’ve got stuff going on all this week, but somehow, someway I plan on knocking out the Holiday Edition by the weekend.  It’s looking like a three mix situation and I’ll do my best to keep everything around the 80 minute mark.  That generally involves a lot of editing on my part and I suppose it’s something I need to get back to since I’ve always done that until recently.  Anyway, I’m a busy bee, so I don’t have the time to talk much about the mix nor post purchase links.  I just hope the powers that be can forgive me and I’ll be back to posting the links on my next mix.  I will say that if my ratings are a little harsh, it’s because I’m getting sick of all these mainstream mixes that keep coming out with weak female vocals that are covered up in the mix.  There’s only so much room for Britney wannabe’s and frankly, she does it better than all of them.  Regardless, sometimes there is a song that is catchy enough to earn a five star rating, but that is becoming rarer these days.  I can deal with the stupid lyrics, just give me some great fracking vocals for Pete’s sake!  I digress.

As we move deeper into the holiday season, I hope everyone is all siked about Santa’s visit in a couple of weeks, as I’m certain he has some goodies up his sleeve.  Don’t forget to submit your wishlist for the year-end edition.  If you don’t, it will solely be based on my picks and we don’t want that now do we?  I hope to be back on Friday with the first of the Holiday mixes…until then, ENJOY!
