X-mas Dance Mix 2021 Vol. 2 | The Ultimate Holiday EDM Mix [Updated]

This set has been updated by removing two Jingle Bells' and 'Santa Clause Is Coming To Town' versions and 'White Christmas was moved to a different location for better flow and cohesion. Well HO! HO! HO! After careful consideration as to what I will likely do next year — I decided to go ahead and mix-up this batch of modern-day holiday classic dance remixes for everyone's enjoyment. Well, maybe not everyone. This special edition EDM set features a variety of genres including: Electro House, Dubstep, Trance, Trap, Hip-Hop, House and even Eurodance. It's quite a bit to digest and may not be for everyone but that's why Party Favorz has years of holiday remix sets that may be more to your liking in our back catalog. I listed to the original mix yesterday and was impressed at how I was able to get such a diverse group of songs at wildly different BPM(s) to mesh cohesively. One of the tricks is to duplicate a few songs like "All I Want For Christmas,' 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,' and 'Last Christmas.' To be certain there were multiple copies of 'Jingle Bells' (a song I've always hated mainly for its lack of structure) 'Christmas, Baby Please Come Home' (one of my all-time favorites especially by Darlene Love and U2) and others but in the spirit of trying to keep this set short and sweet — I went with what worked. My only disappoint was no remix of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,' where the version by the Pretenders has special meaning to me. There was a decent remix of the Lou Rawls' jazzed up version but I couldn't make it work. Overall, I'm glad I did this even though it's a one-off. Some of the songs will be included in next year's 'ULTIMATE' X-mas Dance set — especially the illusive dance mix of 'Happy X-mas (War Is Over)' by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band. I stumbled across this remix late last year and stowed it away for a rainy day and I'm pleased as punch to have stumbled across it. Originally, I had three bonus sets scheduled for November then whittled it down to two but I was a overwhelmed with what was already on my plate so I dropped both and kept the Purple Disco Machine Legay set. I thought I'd give y'all a heads up that one of those sets is going to see the light of day by the end of the week. It's totally out of leftfield and wholly unexpected but it's going to be one epic party set worth your time. That's all I'm saying at the moment. Until the next time...ENJOY! X-mas Dance 2021 — The Ultimate Holiday Dance Mix

Party Favorz is wrapping up November with our annual X-mas Dance series and we've gone overboard to bring newer holiday sounds remixed for the dance floor along with fan favorites from over the years.  In fact, there was so many new remixes available — there was enough to make an EDM/Dance Club version but honestly, I'm petered out. That will be saved for the 2022 release.  This set leans heavily on the Circuit side because Dario Xavier released five holiday remixes coupled with one from last year I forgot I had. Jet Boot Jack released a remix for Diana Ross' version of 'This Christmas' (originally made famous by Donny Hathaway) and Joel Dickinson (a.k.a. Thee Werq'n Bitches and formerly one half of The Assembly with Billy Waters) had remixed The Carpenters' 'Merry Christmas Darling,' which I've had for a several years but never used because it was kinda dark but figured 'what the hell.' Of course Houston's Dirty Disco dropped their annual holiday mix and this year's entry features Kiva on the Mariah Carey classic 'All I Want For Christmas." The rest of the set was rounded out by favorites from over the years including alternate versions of many of those tracks rarely or never used in a set before.  Overall this is a solid effort that's bound to put a smile on the face of the most hardened Grinch.  The past 30 days have been pretty rough for me and it feels like I'm being pulled in multiple directions. Couple that with the typical holiday blues and I just need a little space for a bit. Don't even get me started over the exploding cases of Covid or the new variant discovered in Africa, which will be in your neighborhood before you finish listening to this latest set of holiday cheer. No, irony isn't dead on me [grin]. I've cut back my ambitions for December so here's what to expect: First up will be the annual Jingle Electric featuring the latest Dance Club tracks, Holiday Edition 2021 featuring the latest Circuit and Anthems tracks and then our Year In Dance featuring the biggest Dance songs of 2021. Finally, we'll cap the year off with the annual Blow Your Own Horn 2022, which is the ultimate New Years dance party mix that raises the roof and burns down the year that was before bringing us into a new one.  As you can see, there's still a lot more to go. X-mas Dance 2020 | Step Into the Holiday Season with some House Music Classics | Updated

As an avowed atheist, some of you may wonder why I bother dropping the X-mas Dance mix every year. I grew up in the Catholic church and for all the drama, the piss poor education, the failed attempt to teach creationism alongside actual science for which I questioned everything and was punished by Sister Ursula repeatedly and the sexual abuse — you would think that I would shun the holiday season but I don't. I have a love hate relationship with Christmas in that I have great memories as a kid going to Corpus Christi , TX to visit with Momo and Boonpa, aunts, uncles, cousins and always enjoyed myself. My grandparents were non-practicing Baptists, alcoholics and basically hell raisers, which made them a lot of fun to be around. As I got older and after their deaths, the family pretty much splintered and the era of fun and family had come to an end. By this time, I was in college in north Texas, alone, afraid, HIV+ and wondered when it was my turn to die. That never happened nor was I ever even close. I was new to the whole gay scene and had become great friends with Kurt who also happened to be from South Texas. He was a smart, bitchy queen that could slice through bullshit the minute it walked through the door. Yes we were friends with benefits but that's about it. I distinctly remember going to meet him for lunch during the season when he worked at Express in the mall and they were playing U2's rendition of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" over their speaker system in the store. There's a feeling of warmness I can't express that comes over me when I hear that song and think about our long lost friendship. In fact, Kurt was the last person I stayed with in Dallas before driving nine hours back home for good. It's funny how these small insignificant fleeting moments come rushing back but here I am spilling my guts out. I've been fortunate throughout my life to be in long term relationships with frankly, some really great guys including my partner Rick for 18 years. I'm not an easy person to get along with and am appreciative of his patience but even he has his limits and puts me in my place when I need to be taken down. I have fond holiday memories for Tommy, Eddie and Pete that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Nevertheless, mood swings during the season are fairly typical for many people and I'm no different. I fall back on the music and the memories that filled me with happiness and sadness during the holidays and try to spread the joy to anyone needing a boost. That being said — this will definitely be the last episode of this series. There's no sense in trying to top perfection. These songs vary widely from style to tempo which causes my traditional mixing style to be thrown out the door. This time, I can honestly say, "I nailed it." I don't know what this next year holds for me or Party Favorz. My goal is to give it one final year to release everything on my bucket list before hanging it up. Priorities can change but for now — my goal is to see this through. I want to wish everyone a very happy holiday season and hope you put this set to good use. It will brighten up even the most cloudy days while adding some positivity to your life. I'll be back next week as I begin to close out 2020. X-mas Dance Mix 2019 | The Ultimate Non-Stop Holiday Party

Welcome to the annual X-mas Dance Mix for 2019! I spent the better part of Thanksgiving working on this set because dinner wasn't served until 7pm. I had been busy scrounging my DJ service and various SoundCloud accounts to create this year's offering of holiday dance music favorites and really think I hit this one out of the park.

X-mas Dance 2K16

HO! HO! HO! I wasn't sure how to pull this off but somehow I managed. I had several dance tunes leftover from X-mas Dance 2010 and 2K14 that I wasn't sure how to incorporate into a cohesive set. With a few new entries showing up and help from our good friend Marshall B., I was able to string together an all new set that includes some of our favorite tunes from season's past.

X-mas Dance Mix 2K14

HO HO HO!!! I swear on mother’s grave, I didn’t realize I had enough songs to put this thing together.  When the new Kelly Clarkson “Wrapped In Red” remix rolled in, I added it to a folder called “Christmas Dance Unreleased” that contains holiday dance songs I was saving up for later.  I’ve been putting stuff in there since 2010, when I first created the original X-mas Dance Mix.
