Get ready, dance music lovers, because Winter Edition 2022 is here and it's jam-packed with pulse-quickening tunes that you won't want to miss. This Circuit & Anthems blends iconic diva vocals with thumping tribal beats that guarantee a good time.
Crafting the Perfect Mix
Building a high-quality playlist is far from a cakewalk, and this latest set is no exception. After some uphill battles with constructing my new workstation, I finally triumphed and plunged headfirst into the musical fray. I spent a full Friday diving deep into new releases across platforms like Beatport, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp. While it might sound like a leisurely scroll through a musical library, it's a day-long commitment to separate the gold from the chaff.
A Saturday Well-Spent
On the following day, it was time to blend these selected gems together. Mixing this entire set of circuit & anthems in one sitting, the result exceeded even my lofty expectations. I consider it a point of pride to recognize when a job is well done, and this set meets that bar and then some. It's not just the painstaking effort; the set required an investment—more than $80 to be precise. Yet what truly elevates it to the next level are the immaculate remixes from a medley of international artists and DJs.
Stellar Tracks in the Spotlight
Among the standout tracks in this release are "Here I Stand" remixed by Tony Moran & GSP, and Kim English's "Everyday" brought to life by Brett Oosterhaus. Then, of course, we have "The Motto" by Tiesto & Ava Max, also remixed by Brett Oosterhaus, that simply cannot be ignored.
Let's not forget Dan Slater & Zoe Badwi's "I've Been Waiting," which received the Dirty Disco & Matt Consola Mainroom Remix treatment. These tracks, among many others, are the building blocks that make this set of circuit & anthems an unforgettable club experience.
The Road Ahead
Now that this release is out in the ether, I've got my sights set on other tantalizing projects. The Trance Classics I've been hinting at? They're next on the agenda. The Latest Peak Hour & Tech House Bangers for Winter 2022

Party Favorz is back in action with a Peak Hour set that's been a long time coming. Our last Peak Hour compilation dates back to October, and you can bet we've been hustling to compile a set that lives up to the hype. In fact, we skipped November entirely to focus on December, a month that, contrary to popular belief, does indeed have its share of hidden Tech House gems amidst the late-year releases.
While many DJs tend to stick with what's popular, we've made it our mission to deliver an eclectic mix that spans not just Tech House, but also other sub-genres, thus embodying our mantra of "digging in the crates."
The Curatorial Process
Creating a Peak Hour set is more than just throwing in the latest hits. It's a craft, a skill that demands acute attention to detail. Notably, the set features tracks like "Huxley - Waiting" and "Darius Syrossian - Love One Another" which weren't just randomly tossed in; they were carefully selected to elevate the entire set. Another gem is Gary Caos' "Work It," a song that brings a touch of freshness to the lineup.
This process often takes up half the time invested in curating these mixes. So, if you're wondering why this set stands apart from others, it's because we're committed to not just spinning the same tracks you'd hear from any DJ but to introducing you to brilliant but lesser-known songs.
Why Tech House Dominates this Set
Although the set leans heavily into Tech House and House Music, we also add a sprinkle of Indie tracks, songs that are flying under the radar but deserve a broader audience. It's this diversity and willingness to venture into lesser-known territory that makes our sets distinct.

The final product is a tightly-knit musical tapestry clocking in just under three hours. One of the standout features of this set is its flow, made seamless by meticulous overlaying techniques. Transitioning from one song to the next is smooth, so much so that you'll wonder what just swept you off your feet. Winter Chill Out Music — A Feeling

Party Favorz is kicking the new year off with 'A Feeling' a winter chill out music journey which starts off very lowkey before picking up. There are some points where you might think the roof is on fire but everything quickly simmers down to a low boil.
I began compiling tracks for the next Disco House and Peak Hour series and had a lot of great songs that didn't quite fit into these categories. It was something I had been anticipating since Beatport expanded their genre categories to include Funky House, Jackin House (already a Traxsource staple), Melodic House & Techno, Organic House / Downtempo, and Garage.
For the most part, the way they divide up the genres is meaningless. While some songs have a truly identifiable rhythm, most do not. When you add in Breaks / Breakbeat, Electronica, House, Indie Dance, and Minimal and Deep Tech genres, there's not enough differentiating most songs. Some elements are identifiable allowing for categorization but most fall into a grey area.
The biggest benefit to adding in all these different genres is that it allows DJs to sample more sounds while finding great music that in the past may have gone unnoticed. For that reason, I applaud Beatport (and to a greater extent JunoDownload) for providing better options for discovering new music.
What I am sure about is that many of these songs spread across different genres are simply excellent — even if they don't quite fit into the Party Favorz category list. I pulled together all my favorite tracks and started mixing while discarding songs that I couldn't make work.
The result is not the usual Lounge / Chill sets of the previous efforts but more like the earlier Deep Edition and Mixtape Sessions series Party Favorz was known for ten years ago.
To be certain, this is not like previous efforts so I want to ensure expectations are met. This is a darker journey but a much more satisfying one that ends on a high and jubilant note.
Up next will likely be Disco House followed by Peak Hour before we get into Dance Club and Circuit & Anthems. For now, put your slippers on and a few logs on fire while you kickback and enjoy some winter chill out music.

Discover the top dance songs of 2021 volume 3, as curated by Party Favorz, in our annual review. Our selection process for our Year's Best Dance Tracks involves meticulous research and collaboration with two DJ promotional sources, for both official remixes and unofficial bootlegs and mashups. We partner with various labels and DJs and utilize platforms such as Beatport, Traxsource, and Bandcamp to find the best beats that might not be available through traditional channels. Moreover, we keep an eye on SoundCloud to discover promising new DJ talents.
Despite the thoroughness of our process, it's inevitable that some gems will slip through. In 2023, we missed out on a few fantastic tracks. The list includes "Gold" by Austin Millz & Aluna, a track we cannot praise enough; "Sunshine" by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled & Amorphous, and "Please", the final release from Jessie Ware's highly acclaimed 2020 album "What's Your Pleasure?". Ware's departure from her usual melancholic vibe towards a more positive, Disco-themed album resonated with many listeners, notably following Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia".

Welcome to the Top Dance Songs of 2021 Volume 2. In the dance music landscape, 2021 mirrored the trends of 2020, with Future House, Tech House, and NuDisco persistently dominating the scene, reinforcing their catchy beats into our collective musical psyche.
The year 2021 marked the emergence of a new wave of DJs making significant strides. Among them, Chicago's John Summit took center stage with his profound deep house vibes resonating with a wide audience. His popular tracks such as "Sun Came Up" (in collaboration with Sofi Tukker), "Better Than This" (with Parachute Youth), and "Human" (with Echoes) propelled him into stardom, while he still maintained the charm of his 2020 hits "Deep End" and "Thin Line" (with Guz).
Another standout artist was Brazil's Vintage Culture (Lukas Rafael Ruiz Hespanhol), who has been in the scene for a bit longer. After achieving a #1 Billboard Dance Club hit "In The Dark" (with Fancy Inc.) in 2019, Vintage Culture became a sought-after name for remix productions. In 2021, he remixed multiple hits including "Love Tonight" by Shouse, "Talamanca" by Burns, "Let It Go" by Louie Vega & The Martinez Brothers and Marc E. Bassy, and "Paradise" by Meduza and Dermot Kennedy.
2021 witnessed the remarkable rise of Joel Corry, who is swiftly occupying the position once dominated by Calvin Harris. Following a #6 hit in the UK with "Sorry" in 2019, he ascended further with #4 "Lonely" and #1 "Head & Heart" with MNEK in 2020, the latter being his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S.
Corry remixed numerous tracks in 2021, including the top hits "Bad Habits" by Ed Sheeran, "Tick Tock" by Clean Bandit, "Body" by Megan Thee Stallion, "Out Out" with Jax Jones, and "Feeling Good" by the late Nina Simone. His collaboration on "Bed" with David Guetta and Raye was among the top dance songs of 2021. We predict both Corry and Summit will continue to make waves in 2022.

The Ultimate New Year Dance Party Mix — Blow Your Own Horn 2022

It's that time to throw out the old in anticipation of the new with our ultimate New Year dance party mix, Blow Your Own Horn. For the past 8 years, this series has been a mainstay on Party Favorz as a way for everyone to give one final fuck you and farewell to the year that was while looking forward to a better future.
I have packed this final kiss-off to the rim with bootlegs, mashups, throwbacks, and a boatload of the past year’s biggest dance songs reworked in a way you’d never imagine. As stated previously, the final month of every year has surprises for me that catch me off guard causing monumental headaches and 2021 didn’t let me down.
As a result, I’ve been behind the release schedule and I promise to get the remaining Top Dance Songs of the Year 2021 out by the end of the next week. Technically, 2021 isn’t finished with me yet.
Afterward, I’ll be building a new computer for which all the parts have already arrived and start work on migrating the podcast over to Apple Music. The last part will take a while because the feed is protected and Podbean doesn’t allow protected content to be migrated even with a username and password (don’t get me started). So, I’ll be setting up everything from scratch.
Party Favorz will remain on Podbean so as not to affect our Android and Windows users and there will likely be a secondary website strictly for Apple Music subscribers. The details will be provided at a later date.
Frankly, I could use some time off but when I try, I end up starting a new set anyway. All I ask is that you be patient with me while I work on getting everything set up.
As you all know, 2023 will be the 15th year for Party Favorz and I’ve got a lot of loose ends, ultimate and essential collections scheduled for release next year. The goal is to wrap up the podcast nicely and tidily with everything on my bucket list checked off.

Despite the whirlwind that was 2021, dance music remained a comforting constant in our lives, consistently providing an optimistic outlook amidst all the chaos. Due to a series of end-of-year distractions, this volume is being released without the usual fine-tuning of eliminating errors or swapping track versions.
