Spring Break 2022 — The Essential Spring Break Dance Mix

Party Favorz is back with the essential Spring Break dance mix for 2022! This latest set features all the biggest Dance Club hits of the spring — many of which will spill over into Summer.
Without of doubt, Joel Corry is on a roll and there's no sign he's stopping anytime soon. He appears to have stepped away from his mainstream sugarcoated dance floor earcandy into a deeper Future House groove that's come off leftfield. With 'Liquor Store'  still running high on every DJ list, he drops the Trance classic remake of Da Hool's 'Meet Her At The Love Parade' with his version simply titled 'Parade.' For those of you who took the time to indulge in the Ultimate Trance Classics series we just dropped — this is one of the earliest Trance hits from the 90s that shook the club scene to its foundation.
Speaking of Trance classics, the essential Spring Break set also includes Keanu Silva, Toby Romeo & Sacha's 'Hopeless Heart' which is an ode to the Robert Miles Trance classic 'Children' — a song most generations are intimately familiar with. We also have a 2022 re-work of the massive Trance classic 'Cafe Del Mar' by Paul Reid. I don't know if it was perfect timing or the universe calling back these classics to our collective conscious at the same time we put out the Ultimate Trance Classics Series but it does feel coincidental.
One of our favorites from 2021, Kah-Lo is back with 'Drag Me Out' and 'The Sweetest Pie' by Megan Thee Stallion & Dua Lipa is already making a huge impact on radio and in the clubs. Remixes are only now coming out so be sure not to miss the Dirty Disco remix coming up on our next installment of the T-Dance series. Swedish House Mafia who's had a remarkable comeback to the club scene have teamed up with Sting for a total reimagining of the Police classic 'Roxanne' with 'Red Light' a song that's already on every DJ's top 10 list.
Other notable new tracks gaining momentum are 'Good Luck' by Mabel, Jax Jones & Galantis, 'What Would You Do' by Joel Corry & David Guetta with Bryson Tiller, 'In Your Arms' by Topic, Robin Schulz, Nico Santos & Paul van Dyk (yes, that PVD another Trance reference), Purple Disco Machine and Sophie & the Giant continue their winning collaboration on 'In the Dark' with Oliver Helden doing the remix honors, Ferry Corsten's (yes that FC another Trance throwback) wonderful 'Wounded,' and the KD5 (Kaskade & Deadmaus5) team up for the Progressive House pleasure 'Escape,' while both R3HAB (with Saucy Santana) and Anna Lunoe take a 'dip' into the Freak Nasty classic with their reworks. Who wins that battle is anyone's guess because they're equally good.
Finally, Kungs makes a return with the novelty track 'Clap Your Hands' featuring a children's choir which is making modest inroads in the clubs. Here, Party Favorz delivers an exclusive mashup with David Guetta, which punches up the song making you forget these kids are informing you to remember your A, B, C's.
I've been in a funk most of the week and didn't feel I had much to say about this set until I listened to it back in my car, which flipped my frame of mind. This set doesn't ask anything of you other than to pop it on and forget about all the bullshit happening in the world if only for three hours and twenty-seven minutes while playing it LOUD.

Crafting the Perfect Mix
Building a high-quality playlist is far from a cakewalk, and this latest set is no exception. After some uphill battles with constructing my new workstation, I finally triumphed and plunged headfirst into the musical fray. I spent a full Friday diving deep into new releases across platforms like Beatport, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp. While it might sound like a leisurely scroll through a musical library, it's a day-long commitment to separate the gold from the chaff.
A Saturday Well-Spent
On the following day, it was time to blend these selected gems together. Mixing this entire set of circuit & anthems in one sitting, the result exceeded even my lofty expectations. I consider it a point of pride to recognize when a job is well done, and this set meets that bar and then some. It's not just the painstaking effort; the set required an investment—more than $80 to be precise. Yet what truly elevates it to the next level are the immaculate remixes from a medley of international artists and DJs.
Stellar Tracks in the Spotlight
Among the standout tracks in this release are "Here I Stand" remixed by Tony Moran & GSP, and Kim English's "Everyday" brought to life by Brett Oosterhaus. Then, of course, we have "The Motto" by Tiesto & Ava Max, also remixed by Brett Oosterhaus, that simply cannot be ignored.

Now that this release is out in the ether, I've got my sights set on other tantalizing projects. The Trance Classics I've been hinting at? They're next on the agenda. Each of these projects represents a colossal undertaking, but they're challenges I'm eager to tackle.

The Latest Peak Hour & Tech House Bangers for Winter 2022

Party Favorz is back in action with a Peak Hour set that's been a long time coming. Our last Peak Hour compilation dates back to October, and you can bet we've been hustling to compile a set that lives up to the hype. In fact, we skipped November entirely to focus on December, a month that, contrary to popular belief, does indeed have its share of hidden Tech House gems amidst the late-year releases.
While many DJs tend to stick with what's popular, we've made it our mission to deliver an eclectic mix that spans not just Tech House, but also other sub-genres, thus embodying our mantra of "digging in the crates."
The Curatorial Process
Creating a Peak Hour set is more than just throwing in the latest hits. It's a craft, a skill that demands acute attention to detail. Notably, the set features tracks like "Huxley - Waiting" and "Darius Syrossian - Love One Another" which weren't just randomly tossed in; they were carefully selected to elevate the entire set. Another gem is Gary Caos' "Work It," a song that brings a touch of freshness to the lineup.
This process often takes up half the time invested in curating these mixes. So, if you're wondering why this set stands apart from others, it's because we're committed to not just spinning the same tracks you'd hear from any DJ but to introducing you to brilliant but lesser-known songs.
Why Tech House Dominates this Set
Although the set leans heavily into Tech House and House Music, we also add a sprinkle of Indie tracks, songs that are flying under the radar but deserve a broader audience. It's this diversity and willingness to venture into lesser-known territory that makes our sets distinct.
The Art of Mixing
The final product is a tightly-knit musical tapestry clocking in just under three hours. One of the standout features of this set is its flow, made seamless by meticulous overlaying techniques. Transitioning from one song to the next is smooth, so much so that you'll wonder what just swept you off your feet. The set includes a track called "Bring the Noise" by Dance System which encapsulates this concept. It's about maintaining a rhythm that keeps you guessing and engaged, from start to finish.

Disco House Winter 2022 — All Night Long

Party Favorz is back a day early to declare THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY! Of course, that means it's time for some lip-smacking, booty-shaking, funky disco house to kick your weekend off!
I'm fully aware that the weather sucks in 2/3 of the country as many of you are buried under ice and snow with freezing cold temperatures. Hopefully (if your power is still on) 'All Night Long' will help you thaw out.

Winter Chill Out Music — A Feeling

Party Favorz is kicking the new year off with 'A Feeling' a winter chill out music journey which starts off very lowkey before picking up. There are some points where you might think the roof is on fire but everything quickly simmers down to a low boil.
I began compiling tracks for the next Disco House and Peak Hour series and had a lot of great songs that didn't quite fit into these categories. It was something I had been anticipating since Beatport expanded their genre categories to include Funky House, Jackin House (already a Traxsource staple), Melodic House & Techno, Organic House / Downtempo, and Garage.
For the most part, the way they divide up the genres is meaningless. While some songs have a truly identifiable rhythm, most do not. When you add in Breaks / Breakbeat, Electronica, House, Indie Dance, and Minimal and Deep Tech genres, there's not enough differentiating most songs. Some elements are identifiable allowing for categorization but most fall into a grey area.
The biggest benefit to adding in all these different genres is that it allows DJs to sample more sounds while finding great music that in the past may have gone unnoticed. For that reason, I applaud Beatport (and to a greater extent JunoDownload) for providing better options for discovering new music.
What I am sure about is that many of these songs spread across different genres are simply excellent — even if they don't quite fit into the Party Favorz category list. I pulled together all my favorite tracks and started mixing while discarding songs that I couldn't make work.
The result is not the usual Lounge / Chill sets of the previous efforts but more like the earlier Deep Edition and Mixtape Sessions series Party Favorz was known for ten years ago.
To be certain, this is not like previous efforts so I want to ensure expectations are met. This is a darker journey but a much more satisfying one that ends on a high and jubilant note.
Up next will likely be Disco House followed by Peak Hour before we get into Dance Club and Circuit & Anthems. For now, put your slippers on and a few logs on fire while you kickback and enjoy some winter chill out music.

Discover the top dance songs of 2021 volume 3, as curated by Party Favorz, in our annual review. Our selection process for our Year's Best Dance Tracks involves meticulous research and collaboration with two DJ promotional sources, for both official remixes and unofficial bootlegs and mashups. We partner with various labels and DJs and utilize platforms such as Beatport, Traxsource, and Bandcamp to find the best beats that might not be available through traditional channels. Moreover, we keep an eye on SoundCloud to discover promising new DJ talents.
Despite the thoroughness of our process, it's inevitable that some gems will slip through. In 2023, we missed out on a few fantastic tracks. The list includes "Gold" by Austin Millz & Aluna, a track we cannot praise enough; "Sunshine" by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled & Amorphous, and "Please", the final release from Jessie Ware's highly acclaimed 2020 album "What's Your Pleasure?". Ware's departure from her usual melancholic vibe towards a more positive, Disco-themed album resonated with many listeners, notably following Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia".
