Spring Break 2021 | Dance Club Party Anthems!
Saturday Apr 03, 2021
Saturday Apr 03, 2021
Typically Spring Break (for me at least) came in late March and sometimes early April depending on the calendar year — it appears that many folks already had theirs. So, consider this a day late and a dollar short but we're limited by the amount of quality dance promos showing up in our inbox. Frankly, the wait was worth it because this set kicks ass!
Spring Break 2021 is a combination of smoking hot tracks that have been riding high since February, classics tracks that have been updated for today's dance scene and several new entries trying to claim their spot on your phone heading into summer. With vaccination rollouts in full force — Party Favorz is anticipating a boom of new post-pandemic tracks to rollout by Summer (fingers crossed). That being said — our goal is to please and this set will definitely provide some sense of normalcy.
Yes, it really is that good.
Just so y'all know — I'm doing my best to keep everyone in the zone and focused on better days ahead. Rick and I got our second vaccination in late February but our routine has remained the same. To be honest, he needs to get his ass back to work outside of home because no love in the world can sustain itself in close proximity 24/7. Just sayin.
I've already compiled the set list for a brand new Peak Hour set, which will be the perfect companion piece to Spring Break 2021 and will drop next week. That will be followed by the much-delayed Spring Edition 2021 featuring the hottest circuit anthems the following week. Until then...ENJOY!

Where The Happy People Go | Get Down To The Latest Disco House
Friday Mar 26, 2021
Friday Mar 26, 2021
Party Favorz is back with our latest Disco House offering "Where the Happy People Go."
This set kicks off with some powerhouse disco tracks that will burn the house down. It then transitions into more cosmopolitan disco (which appears be the rage at the moment) before moving into some great vocal house with the awesomeness of Kathy Brown, Siedah Garrett, The Fog, and St. Jude before closing out with Mark White's funkalicious "Supreme."
The mix is actually my first draft as I usually knock out the mix first and then go back and add/subtracts songs, make edits or move things around for better flow on the final mix. However, I was working on two sets at once and accidentally overwrote this set with the other causing me to lose everything.
In the 14-year span of Party Favorz, this has only happened once before. After listening to this set a few times — I can honestly say that I'm happy with the first draft.
I have a special Diva Hall of Fame inductee scheduled to drop for tomorrow. This diva's induction is long overdue and is only for hardcore fans (like myself) which honors this woman's tireless work in the music industry. More on that tomorrow.
Until then...ENJOY!

Spring T-Dance 2021 | Spring Forward with the Latest Happy House & Dance Classics
Saturday Mar 20, 2021
Saturday Mar 20, 2021
It may still be a bit nippy outside but today is the first day of spring and I can't think of any better way to celebrate it than with a Tea Dance set.
Lets face it, 2020 was a disaster and 2021 is only beginning to resemble a slight ounce of a return to normalcy. Then again, that all depends on where you live. If you're in a science denying state that values profit over lives — then nothing has really changed for you.
Meanwhile, everyone else who follows the science, wears masks in public while social distancing and gets vaccinated as soon as it's available have been the people taking one for the team. I won't get bogged down into the specifics nor am I here to lecture but let's just say it ain't over no matter how badly you tell yourself otherwise (even after vaccination) but I digress.
Our duty is to put you in a happy mood and get you ready for what ultimately awaits on the other side of this thing.
I do want to mention that the opening song is not new, nor is it an updated version of the song. "If You Leave Me Now" by Veronica Sales (not the Chicago classic) just showed up while perusing JunoDownload for additional Disco House tracks to fill out the next set.
It turns out, the song was recently made available to download services but is originally from 1992. That's about all I know of the song because it was never a hit in the states.
Having never heard the song before and after previewing it – I knew I had to include it in this set. The song bleeds GAY from every vocal to every beat! If you've never heard it before, you're in for a campy treat.
The rest of the set is either new tracks or reworked classics by some of our favorite DJs like Barry Harris, Dirty Disco, Block & Crown, Division 4 and Jet Boot Jack. It blends tracks from the 70s, 80s, 90s to current day and is a masterful work of happy dance music. If this doesn't put a smile on your face — nothing will.
I've got a new Disco House as a companion piece to this set going up soon, our annual Spring Break set that's gonna be different than the standard commercial dance releases and hopefully (fingers crossed) a long overdue Diva Hall of Fame entry.
In fact, the April and May calendar release schedule is all filled up. Technically, June as well because I had been fretting on what to do for Gay Pride month but I've got it all figured out.
Until the next time... ENJOY!

Ralphi Rosario: The Final Act in a Trilogy of House Music Master
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
Saturday Mar 13, 2021
At long last, we've arrived at the grand finale of our tribute to the house music maestro, Ralphi Rosario. Volume 3 of this Legacy series is a kaleidoscopic journey through his remarkable catalog, blending the commercial with the underground in a way that only Rosario can.
When you think of Ralphi Rosario, it's hard not to jump straight to chart-toppers like Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande's "Rain On Me" or the Black Eyed Peas' "RITMO"—both remixed by Rosario and rapturously received over the past year. But, Rosario's influence stretches far beyond these blockbuster hits.
Take, for example, his remix of Cher's "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)," a splashy and effervescent tune that turns every dance floor into a vibrant spectacle. It's a refreshing testament to Rosario's genius: knowing just what a track needs to transform from good to iconic.
Rosario's scope isn't just confined to the latest hits. Remember Barry Manilow's "Copacabana 2005"? Rosario's reimagining breathed new life into this classic, taking us on a sonic vacation to that mythical club where "music and passion were always in fashion."
The collaboration between Rosabel and Jennifer Holliday on "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" is nothing short of iconic in the gay community and beyond. This power-packed anthem, originally from the Broadway musical 'Dreamgirls,' was given a transformative Rosabel remix that thrust it straight back into the spotlight. With Holliday's impassioned vocals layered over Rosabel's rhythmic, high-energy beats, the song becomes more than a show-stopping number; it becomes an emblem of resilience and self-empowerment making one of the all-time favorite gay anthems. This Rosabel remix is not just another track on a playlist; it's an auditory experience that uplifts, unites, and gives voice to the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community. The song pulses through dancefloors and Pride parades alike, serving as an enduring testament to Rosabel's and Jennifer Holliday's indelible marks on both music and culture.
Stevie Nicks' "Stand Back," another gem given the Rosario treatment, illuminates the diversity of his repertoire, showing he can adapt his style to bring out the best in rock-flavored dance tunes. Then, he'll pivot effortlessly to soulful classics like Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff," adding a contemporary spark without tarnishing the original's fiery essence.
The intoxicating "F$ck Your Boyfriend (F.U.B.F.)" co-crafted with Frankie Catalano is another cornerstone that showcases Rosario's risk-taking and rebellious spirit. This audacious track has been a guilty pleasure for many and adds to the Rosario enigma.
We'd be amiss not to acknowledge his contributions to more recent pop phenomena. With songs like Erika Jayne's "One Hot Pleasure" or the Pussycat Dolls' anthems "When I Grow Up" and "Don't Cha," Rosario makes sure the dance floor stays packed and the energy never wanes.
So, whether it's Cyndi Lauper's "Same Ol' Fucking Story" or Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable," Rosario’s touch is like Midas — everything he remixes turns to dance floor gold.
In the end, Rosario's impact on LGBTQ+ nightlife and music scenes globally cannot be overstated. His name is synonymous with legendary, and his work—from 1987 to today—has served as the soundtrack for generations. Not acknowledging this would be an unforgivable oversight in the annals of dance music.
And there you have it—the grand finale to our monumental tribute to one of house music's most celebrated artists. Until the next time...ENJOY!

Ralphi Rosario | Legacy Volume 2
Friday Mar 12, 2021
Friday Mar 12, 2021
Welcome back to the second part of our monumental tribute to Ralphi Rosario, a true luminary in the dance music scene. As we continue to celebrate his expansive career, it's evident that whittling down decades of unparalleled artistry into just three volumes is a Herculean task. So, let's cut right to it, shall we?
Our second volume seamlessly picks up from where the first left off, delivering an experience that touches on Ralphi's multi-faceted talents. While you can expect the inclusion of last year's mammoth hit "RITMO" by Black Eyed Peas & J Balvin, this compilation also paves the way for surprises. Rest assured, the tune you've all been clamoring for will make its grand appearance in the upcoming Volume 3. Intrigued yet?
Part of the magic of Ralphi Rosario is his dexterity in moving beyond the mainstream. That’s evident when he takes on iconic tracks like "Spice Up Your Life" by the Spice Girls, injecting it with a fresh vitality. On LaTour's "People Are Still Having Sex," Ralphi infuses a pulsating beat that becomes impossible to resist. Then there's his mesmerizing spin on Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous," which marries a tantalizing rhythm with a sultry vocal, perfect for igniting any dance floor.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zrxkk7MDqY
And let's not overlook his subterranean gems. When Ralphi gets his hands on tracks like "Rise Up" by Funky Green Dogs or Deborah Cooper's "Real Love," they get transformed into deep, groovy anthems that have lit up underground scenes. Meanwhile, Ralphi's work on Kristine W's "Fly Again" and Jennifer Lopez’s "On The Floor" serve as testaments to his adeptness at bridging the gap between commercial pop and club culture.
Ralphi and his frequent collaborator Rosabel have also made significant contributions to the Latin dance scene, rivaling stalwarts like Pablo Flores and Tony Moran. This series takes a moment to spotlight such work, encapsulating the vibrancy and diversity that only Ralphi and Rosabel can offer.
For those of you who've only been exposed to Ralphi's commercial successes, prepare to uncover a rich tapestry of beats that extend far beyond the popular spectrum. The crux of this second volume lies in its range, presenting a panoramic view of Ralphi Rosario's enduring impact on the dance music scene.
We'll cap off this monumental tribute with Volume 3, set to release this Saturday. Hold onto your dancing shoes; the final act promises to be an electrifying crescendo to an already sensational series.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Ralphi Rosario Legacy Volume 1—The House Music Maestro Who Paved the Way
Sunday Mar 07, 2021
Sunday Mar 07, 2021
When it comes to the evolution of house music, few names loom as large as Ralphi Rosario. A founding member of Chicago's trailblazing DJ collective, Hot Mix 5, Rosario helped lay the groundwork for the house music movement while he was still in high school. By 1987, his collaboration with Xaviera Gold on "You Used To Hold Me" had already secured its place as one of the seminal tracks in house music history—a catalyst for seismic shifts on dancefloors everywhere.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tava2f-qrfw
Rosario's creative path took a transformative turn in the nineties when he teamed up with Miami's DJ Abel Aguilera to create Rosabel—a portmanteau of Rosario's surname and Abel's first name. This new venture marked Rosario's evolution from classic house to a more tribal, Latin-infused sound—a stylistic pivot he has honed to near-perfection over the years. As Rosabel, they layered their heritage and various musical influences into electrifying house tracks that became anthems for major artists.
The duo's credentials are impressive, to say the least, racking up five #1 Billboard Dance Club hits. On his own, Rosario has amassed fourteen Top Ten Dance Club hits and two chart-toppers. And let's not even get into his epic list of remixes, which features the crème de la crème of the music industry—from Madonna and Beyoncé to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. The overwhelming majority of these artists have already found their way into our Diva Hall of Fame, a testament to Rosario's influence.
Selecting from a staggering 60-plus hours of tracks was a monumental task. I aimed for the most iconic, diva-centric tracks, embracing both the nineties and the new millennium, and including some underground gems that have been queer club mainstays. The final result? Three exhilarating sets amounting to more than 8 hours of sonic bliss, capturing just a fraction of Rosario's immense catalog.
These compilations don't claim to encapsulate Rosario's entire career, but they're a sublime starting point. It's a celebration of a music maestro who has shaped the house music landscape for the past four decades.
So, it's with immense pride and honor that we welcome the indomitable Ralphi Rosario into the Party Favorz Legacy series. Brace yourselves; you're in for an auditory feast.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Winter Edition 2021 | Keep Warm With the Season’s HOTTEST Circuit Anthems!
Saturday Feb 27, 2021
Saturday Feb 27, 2021
Hell must have frozen over because Party Favorz has been on a roll pushing out the latest circuit anthems that fuel your winter! Next up is the annual Winter Edition in which the 2021 version does not disappoint.
This set is packed with the latest circuit anthems and tribal beats a mile high and is the perfect replacement for the 2020 Holiday Edition, which has likely worn itself out in your workout regimen.
After spending half the day in Atlanta on Thursday to get our second vaccination or as you call it in the UK "jab," Rick and I were sent home because the state hadn't delivered the treatment until later in the day forcing the doctor's office to cancel all the appointments. They couldn't open up a vile just for us and waste the rest.
So, we're heading back to Atlanta shortly to get the second jab and I'm expecting this is the one that knocks me on my ass as the immune system kicks into high gear — or so I'm told.
I'm working on some belated Legacy editions that are bound to please and should be dropping those this next week. Until then...ENJOY!
I want to give a BIG shoutout to Glenn A. and Joe S. for their generous donations. Joe and Glenn sent me a nice email about their experiences seeing Sylvester in concert. I like those stories so always feel free to share. Let's hold off on any other donations because I'm going to be asking for them shortly to cover hosting costs that expire at the end of March. More on that later.

Disco House [February 2021]

Saturday Feb 20, 2021
Party Favorz is back with our first Disco House set of 2021 and this one is packed with familiar riffs and samples that are bound to have you asking "where is that beat from?"
Frankly, there are so many samples tightly woven in these tracks (often more than one used in a single song) that it's hard to keep up. There are obvious ones like "When Love Is Over," which samples "Holding On (When Love Is Over}" by L.T.D.
"I Wanna Feel" is a clear lift of "He's the Greatest Dancer" by the Nile Rogers produced Sister Sledge while "The Groove Cycle" could by any song by Roger's own disco band Chic with its familiar guitar work. DJ Mark Brickman's "Got Myself Together" is a reworking of the Brass Construction classic "Movin" from 1976.
Then you have the obvious remakes such as the 90's Adeva house classic "In & Out Of My Life," Soul Avengerz and Krysten Cummings re-work the Aretha Franklin classic "R-E-S-P-E-CT" and Block & Crown remake the Al Green soul classic "Let's Stay Together" with Jeff Roberts performing the vocal duties. The latter begs the question as to why no one has reworked the Tina Turner version of this song. It's practically begging for a soulful house rework.
Another obvious rework here is the Gino Soccio #1 disco classic "Dancer" by DJ Mark Brickman and Venessa Jackson.
Then you have the combos like Crazibiza's "My Lips," which mashes "Don't Call Me Baby" by Madison Avenue with Aretha Franklin and C + C Music Factory gay anthem "Pride (A Deeper Love)" an unlikely pairing that just works. Block & Crown gets in on this game by mashing "Pump Up the Jam" by Technotronic featuring Felly with "Stomp" by Brothers Johnson..
Indeed, there are so many samples contained here some are barely recognizable while others don't bother hiding their appreciation for the originals. It does prove that today's DJs are not just appropriating long lost works (some of these samples are really rare) but honoring all those that came before. It also shows that mom and dad's (in many cases grandma's) music was actually pretty damn good.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Jason Walker has honored us with two fantastic new songs "All To You," which has fabulous remixes by the legendary David Morales and Georgia Porgie as well as "Stronger" with DJ extraordinaire Quentin Harris that has two sets of remixes accompanying its release. These songs are some of Jason's strongest work and I'm happy to see that he's continuing to gift us with his amazing voice.
I'll let y'all figure out the rest of the sampling contained within this set or instead of racking your brain — just sit back, get down to the funky sound and ENJOY!

Dance Club [February 2021]

After working this set from three different angles and editing out 30 minutes of tracks in the final product — the Dance Club set for February 2021 has finally landed.
Jam packed with the biggest dance hits, this set is the one y'all have been waiting for.
I'm not going to go into too much detail here but I will discuss the inevitable remix for Olivia Rodrigo's massive "Drivers License." Unless you've been living under a rock — this song escaped all the other noise in pop music to top the charts for several weeks and rightfully so. With it's driving 80's synth and personal lyrics — Miss Rodrigo has become an overnight sensation.
While there are no official remixes for this song — there are several stellar bootleg remixes. My choice for this set was unusual in that it doesn't fit neatly into the commercial Future House fair we see for this type of song. In stead, I went with newcomer (?) David Michael's "Late Night Drive" remix, which doesn't follow the conventional rule of short but sweet.
His remix is an epic 8+ minutes long set to a simple house beat but the riff he uses will sound very familiar to most of you. It took me awhile to figure out that this was actually "The Promise" by When In Rome that was stripped of the synths in favor of the aforementioned house beat with a delicate touch of piano that's familiar to the When In Rome classic. Come to think of it, the original relies on an 80's synth to drive the emotional track and a modernized version of the instrumental version of "The Promise" would likely mash well together.
The length of the song doesn't bother me at all. If anything, the build-up is well worth the wait. I'm certain that more conventional remixes for this song will appear in future versions of this series so no worries if this isn't what you're expecting.
Another worthy entry is the closing Tears For Fears classic remake "Mad World" by Timmy Trumpet & Gabry Ponte. This is kinda of a New Trance/Bass House hybrid that stays true to the beauty of the original while modernizing the song in such a chaotic time. It really is quite spectacular and deserves more attention than it's currently receiving.
The rest of the set speaks for itself as I painstakingly poured through countless promos to put this all together.
I'm am currently on a roll and just finished the next Disco House installment set to drop Saturday. I'll be starting on the next Peak Hour set today. Until then...ENJOY!

Welcome back to the euphoric journey of House Music in the 90s! As we delve into Volume 4 of The Ultimate 90's House Classics [1994 - 1995], we stand at a thrilling intersection where innovation meets tradition. The 90s were a pivotal decade in the dance music arena, a time when technology and creativity coalesced to shape the future.
Giorgio Moroder, considered by many as the godfather of Techno and House Music, was a visionary artist. His groundbreaking work with Donna Summer and solo productions were milestones in electronic dance music. Decades ahead of its time in the seventies, his influence can be felt in the incredible evolution of House Music throughout the 90s.
With technology advancing, the mid-decade brought a fresh wave of possibilities. House Music began to diversify, branching into numerous sub-genres that contributed to the kaleidoscopic sounds we recognize today.
Size 9's "I'm Ready" is a testament to this innovation, embodying the spirit of a genre that was constantly pushing boundaries. Its pulsating beats and irresistible hooks encapsulate the experimental fervor that marked the era.
The Rapino Brothers remix for Corona's "The Rhythm Of The Night" is another standout, offering a melodic blend of infectious grooves that transcended dance floors worldwide. It's a quintessential example of the magic that unfolded when traditional instruments met electronic ingenuity.
In "Take Me Higher" (T-empo's Club Adventure) by Diana Ross, we see a fusion of classic vocals and forward-thinking production techniques, creating a vibrant synergy that resonates with the very essence of 90s House.
Tracks like "Been A Long Time" (Full Intention 12" Mix) by The Fog, Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy" (David Morales Classic Club Remix), M People's "One Night In Heaven" (David Morales Classic Mix), and Madonna's "Human Nature" (The Human Club Extended Mix) showcase the era's willingness to explore, innovate, and reinterpret.
Even Björk's experimental touch in "Big Time Sensuality" (The Fluke Magimix) and Staxx's euphoric "Joy" (Lovejoy Vocal 12" Mix) find their place in this collection, reflecting the broad spectrum and international appeal of 90s House.
These groundbreaking tracks, crafted by DJs and producers who are still influencing the industry today, offer a vivid snapshot of an era marked by technological marvel and creative exploration. They embody the enduring legacy of House Music, a legacy that continued to thrive and evolve into the latter part of the decade, paving the way for new sounds and experiences.
Volume 4 of The Ultimate 90's House Classics celebrates the magical era that was the 90s – a time when House Music was not just a genre but a movement, a community, and an artistic revolution.
