Maroon 5: Celebrating Their Dance Music Contributions in Our Legacy Series
Saturday May 11, 2019
Saturday May 11, 2019
Meet Maroon 5, a pop-rock powerhouse led by frontman Adam Levine. Formed in 2001, the band quickly made a name for itself with its genre-defying hits and radio-friendly anthems. Comprising talented musicians across the board, Maroon 5 has continuously adapted to stay at the forefront of the music scene.
Maroon 5 made a powerful debut in 2002 with their rock track "Harder To Breathe," only to transition swiftly into softer rock hits like "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved." This versatility made them difficult to categorize but showcased their knack for creating radio-friendly hits. Though their next album featured the chart-topping "Makes Me Wonder," other singles didn't fare as well on the charts.
The real game-changer came with their third album's release, particularly the single "Moves Like Jagger." A remix featuring Christina Aguilera—Adam Levine's fellow judge on the hit show "The Voice"—catapulted the song to massive radio success, making it the biggest hit of the year. Maroon 5 continued to hone their craft, collaborating with prominent Hip Hop artists and embracing the zeitgeist, all while maintaining their pop-rock essence.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TpyyDW87NA
Their most significant impact may be on the dance music community. Many of their hits seamlessly transition to the dance floor, resulting in a plethora of official remixes, bootlegs, and samples. Thanks to their broad appeal and Adam Levine's high-profile presence on "The Voice," Maroon 5 has solidified their standing not just in popular music but on dance floors worldwide.
Yes, we did feature a sultry photo of Adam from a charity shoot, but let's be clear: Maroon 5's allure isn't solely about their frontman. It's the collective talent of the band as seasoned musicians and pop-rock virtuosos that steals the show. Adam is just the cherry on top.
For all these reasons, Party Favorz proudly celebrates Maroon 5's contributions to dance music through our esteemed Legacy series.

OneRepublic The Dance Legacy Series
Friday May 03, 2019
Friday May 03, 2019
OneRepublic, an American pop-rock band formed in Colorado Springs in 2002, found their initial fame on the now-obsolete MySpace platform. Comprising lead vocalist Ryan Tedder, guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher, the band embarked on an intriguing musical journey.
Initially signed to Velvet Hammer, a subsidiary of Columbia Records, they recorded their debut album "Dreaming Out Loud" in 2005. However, they were dropped by Columbia two months before the album's release. Although their first single "Apologize" gained traction on MySpace charts, it failed to gain broader recognition until renowned producer Timbaland stepped in. By remixing "Apologize" and featuring it on his "Shock Value" album, Timbaland propelled the song to international fame, including an eight-week stint atop Billboard's Pop 100 chart.
While OneRepublic found modest success on the pop charts, it was their aptitude for inspiring EDM remixes that truly set them apart. Their tracks effortlessly transitioned into epic anthems, akin to those produced by Coldplay and U2, both of whom also feature in our Legacy series.
Though they've only released four studio albums and sold over 10 million copies worldwide, OneRepublic hasn't quite received the level of respect enjoyed by some of their contemporaries. Their music often draws comparisons to iconic bands, which can be a double-edged sword. Being their own entity with a distinct style, OneRepublic has more to offer than just being "the next Coldplay" or "U2 Jr."
If you're a fan of emotionally charged, anthemic tunes and you trust Party Favorz to curate the best, this OneRepublic tribute is right up your alley. Even if you're unfamiliar with some of the tracks, you'll find yourself irresistibly singing along.
Recently, the band has been collaborating with standout DJs and producers like Kygo, Seeb, and Galantis, signaling a potentially exciting new chapter in their musical journey. We're eager to see where this takes them.
This installment of the Legacy series is just the beginning of more tributes to come. I've been enjoying this set non-stop, both in my car and on my phone, and I think you'll feel the same way.

Summer Leap! 2019
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
Sunday Apr 28, 2019
I spent most of the day yesterday slowly working on pulling this set together — that is when I wasn't going down the Twitter rabbit hole.
I have to say, it was difficult enough dealing with what amounts to radio edits for many of the official full-length mixes but there's a new twist in town. Certain DJswho will go unnamed have been cutting off the outro of their mixes. At first, I thought they were pulling the tracks from sets but the more I started to see it — the more I realized this was intentional. There's no breakdown just a slow repetitive plodding that never reaches a conclusion then all of a sudden just cuts off.
I don't know if this is some DJs thinking they are so beyond creating these mixes or if they want to challenge others to come up with creative ways of mixing in and out of the tracks. I don't use fancy mixing software that has a slew of effects for transitions and frankly — other than in a club (where most folks don't notice), I'm not a big fan of getting all cutesy with transitions unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise, they're just annoying and don't really display any skill on the part of the DJ. I liken it to a whole new generation of folks with short attention spans — but I'll digress.
I combed through the finished product an hour ago then mastered and encoded it. The end result is some of the finest dance club tracks already in your clubs and a whole bunch more that will soon be.
You'll also notice a bevy of classic tracks reworked for a new audience but with either different singers or the originals reprising their roles. No need to list the names as they will be very familiar to you just by reading the tracklist
Summer Leap is exactly what it implies. It's all the hottest dance-club hits that will take us well into summer.
We're in that stage where we go from cooler temps to summer-like temps to heavy rain and tornadoes, then cooler temps then back to warmer temps all in a month. This will continue through May before Summer finally gives in and things start heating up.
Of course, that doesn't stop Party Favorz from enacting our brand of global warming before the actual season fully kicks in. If it's still snowing, or cold and rainy where you're at — just know that summer is right around the corner and this set will put you in a better frame of mind. Until the next time...ENJOY!

Start the Party
Friday Apr 19, 2019
Friday Apr 19, 2019
Happy Friday to everyone! While we sit here under tornado and flash flood warnings — I decided to go ahead and drop the latest Peak Hour House Music set Start the Party.
I really worked this set-out and pulled from a variety of styles including Breaks, Drum & Bass, Techno, and of course the always-popular Tech House. Start the Party takes you on a journey through the underground house scene in what is likely one of my favorite sets in a long while in this series.
Keep in mind that the inclusion of Frank Wah's "Get Me High," which is a repeat from Rave Machine is not an error. Even though the track itself feels incomplete and I had to rework the ending, it's one of my favorite tracks at the moment.
In other news, I realize there have been some issues with the site not fully loading and the download links not working as expected. I made some late-night corrections that are in the process of propagating throughout the system. In most cases, they're likely finished but in other parts of the world may take a little more time.
If you get a page with the logo and the contact information at the bottom but empty posts, try clearing your browser's cache (not your passwords) and refreshing the page by hitting F5.
If the download link doesn't work automatically and takes you to another page with a different audio player — click on the three dots to the right of the player and the episode should download automatically.
Equally, you can right-click the download link and click "save as" and it should also download directly.
As I said, I'm aware of these issues and have already implemented the fixes — they just need a little time to correct themselves worldwide. If you're still having issues by tomorrow, please reach out to me via the contact section of the site or Instant Messenger and I'll see what I can do. Just know that I appreciate every bit of feedback I receive to ensure things work as expected.
In the interim, enjoy this fantastic set of Peak Hour House Music. This one is for the adventurous folks. Until the next time...ENJOY!

A Night To Remember
Saturday Apr 13, 2019
Saturday Apr 13, 2019
Never one to set on my laurels, Party Favorz pulls yet another set out of my ass which sets the stage for your upcoming pool parties and summer fun. With a combination of House Music, Funky House, Jackin House, and NuDisco — A Night To Remember accomplished that in spades.
Too soon to talk about summer where you live? Never worry, it's on its way and hopefully, this and a tanning bed will put you in the right frame of mind.
There are loads of familiar samples in this set and I went out of my way to diversify the offerings to keep things interesting. As usual, the requisite sample of Loleatta Holloway's disco classic "Love Sensation" is included. I tell you folks — this is likely the most sampled track of all time. Imagine the pile her estate could have made had she and Dan Hartman owned the rights to that one song they did for Salsoul. It's like the song that keeps on giving as more and more DJs find creative uses for it.
Speaking of Loleatta Holloway — I have it on very good authority that a certain superstar DJ collective is considering re-working a torch ballad of hers for the dancefloor. The hard part is re-arranging the track and the next part is finding someone willing to fill Loleatta's shoes. They're out there (Marth Wash comes to mind) but cost a lot of money. Nevertheless, I had floated the idea and they were definitely on board. I won't say what track it is other than it was originally written and performed by Sam Dees. Don't want to give out too much more because these guys are super-busy and there's no guarantee they'll be able to pull it off. We'll see.
That's all I got for what's turning out to be a nice spring day. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and as always...ENJOY!

Kim English 2019 | The Definitive House Sessions
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
Wednesday Apr 10, 2019
In furtherance of our Legacy series that honors the late Kim English, I wanted to cover the flipside of Kim's career. Ms. English was originally from Chicago and like many famous artists that preceded her, has roots in her hometown church singing gospel. House music's roots are embedded in gospel music and Kim — with her smoky alto — was a natural fit.
Her voice is very much reminiscent of Toni Braxton and Anita Baker. She re-recorded "Been So Long" from Anita's Grammy-winning album "Rapture" — and a remix by Wamdue is included here.
Her original recording of "Nite Life" with Ten City is what got her noticed. The song is a classic staple in the House Music annals and has been reworked a multitude of times over the years. With interest from Masters at Work (Louie Vega and Kenny Dope), Nervous Records picked the track up and signed Kim to a recording deal.
Throughout that deal, Kim English had a total of eight #1 club hits on the Billboard charts. On one end, you had the circuit-driven throbbing beats from some of the biggest names in DJ production such as Razor N Guido, Michael T. Diamond, Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Thunderpuss, Tony Moran, and more.
On the flip side, she was remixed by some of the most prominent House Music producers as well including David Morales, Masters At Work, Todd Edwards, John Cutler, Mousse T., E-Smoove, ATFC, and more. These remixes are the primary focus of this second set.
With so many mixes to choose from, I took this set towards a heavier house sound than my previous effort. It begins with a couple of Soulful House tracks and then escalates from there. If you want her true Soulful House experience, then the original House Sessions I created for her are still up on the site.
It is with love and respect that Party Favorz honors the late Kim English in this final set. Given the evolving nature of club music today, her talent will be sorely missed. RIP.

Kim English 2019 | The Circuit Anthems
Saturday Apr 06, 2019
Saturday Apr 06, 2019
I'm sad to announce that one of the most prolific and talented divas Kim English has passed away at the very young age of 48. With a total of 13 top 10 Billboard Club/Dance tracks and 8 that reached #1 on the chart, the self-penned tracks spoke of her sincerely held religious convictions with themes of joy, empowerment, and personal relationships provided the soundtrack to many in the gay community. Hits like "Unspeakable Joy," "Everyday," and 'Treat Me Right" live on in our memories of what real house music was all about.
After the release of her third album "My Destiny," Kim gave an interview where she admitted that it was difficult to reconcile her differences between her faith and the gay community. This statement alone had a significant impact on her career in which her label — the infamous Nervous Records — withdrew future support for her album.
I tend to look at this through the lens of what happens when our idols prove to be less than our preconceived notions and the pedestal we place them on. Michael Jackson and Donna Summer had similar issues during the latter part of their careers. I suggest we set aside the negative from the positive aspects of their music. Their impact on culture is so significant — we should separate their beliefs and actions from the timeline of memories they provided us. These 18 tracks stand as a testament to the power of Kim English's work and what it represented to us at the time of their peak popularity.
Most of these tracks clock in anywhere from 9 - 12 minutes. I went through the list and heavily edited them to maintain their energy without losing the integrity of the originals.
Since Kim English was multi-talented in Soulful House Music with a Jazz sensibility, I plan on working out a second set featuring the same tracks that will have a different overall feel that is closer to her house music roots. I was never thrilled with her first induction into the Diva Hall of Fame, but this allows me to correct that wrong. In short, I worked this mother out!
It is with much love, admiration, and respect that Party Favorz re-inducts Kim English into the Diva Hall of Fame while simultaneously entering her into her rightfully earned place in our Legacy series. ENJOY!

Friday Mar 29, 2019
Friday Mar 29, 2019
As we head into the final days of March, Party Favorz is dropping our annual circuit, tribal, House Music set Spring Edition. This newly minted set features the newest and biggest tracks in circuit tribal house music at the moment.
When I first started on this project, I was underwhelmed at how few songs were being released and the promos I was receiving. Once I finalized the set list and started on the mix — not only did everything come together with ease, but the songs were outstanding in their own right.
My initial concern was the quality of the tracks, so I picked up a couple of missed 2018 songs from Beatport only to find out that really wasn't necessary. I included them anyway as they're likely still fresh to most of you.
The Spring Edition 2019 is a great kick-off for our new hosting service Siteground — courtesy of your generous donations. Additional thanks go to Nicholas C., Luiz E. M., W. Evan G., and Ignacio G. for helping make this happen.
I've got a couple of ideas for Legacy artists but not sure how they'll work out until I start working on them. A new follower emailed and suggested a re-work of the Kim English set and including a never released Razor N Guido remix of "Missing You" — which I may do a bit later. I always listen to suggestions for new Diva Hall of Fame and Legacy entries. Sometimes it takes me a long time before I get around to realizing them, while other times it sounds good on paper but in reality, not so much. Please do not let that dissuade you from sending me your ideas. I will always respond to let you know that I'm taking it into consideration.
Do keep in mind that half of my audience is North America and the rest is from Europe and South America. I'm starting to get some traction in Japan as well. When I'm considering an artist for inclusion — they need to have the widest appeal across continents in order to have the greatest impact and generate common interest.
That being said, you can expect a new Funky Disco House, Peak Hour, and maybe...just maybe one more Trash Disco set in the near future. Until the next time...ENJOY!

Spring Break 2019 Volume 2
Sunday Mar 24, 2019
Sunday Mar 24, 2019
Party Favorz is finally back with volume 2 of the Spring Break 2019 edition to help you get your party on with the hottest dance club hits from around the globe. Once again, we've got it all jammed with genre favorites from House, EDM, Future House, Deep House, and NuDisco. I like mixing it up to keep things interesting.
Since Mueller dropped his final report on Friday, pretty much everyone has been on edge about its contents — including myself. I've been going down the Twitter rabbit hole where a lot of folks or second-guessing what's contained in the report but have come to the conclusion that we'll have to wait as nobody really knows.
I'm also starting to notice many in the Democrat party drawing partisan lines that could be damaging to our unity going into 2020. You have the woman faction dumping all over men, blacks dumping all over white folks and religious lefties dumping all over those of us that remain staunchly secular. Then you have the wannabe pundits and journalists angling to get on one of CNN's heated debate segments who clearly have their own agenda in denigrating candidates that are gaining a lot of momentum. To be certain, it's a mixed bag and one that I've personally participated in.
All of this anxiety-inducing raucous is making me reconsider injecting myself into these partisan groups — oftentimes from folks I highly respect. It's almost like high school all over again. So, I've decided to step back and allow all these folks to get the shit out of their system. It doesn't mean I won't comment on things that I find atrocious, but I'm stepping away from the partisan bitching going on within our own party.
We have an outstanding group of candidates running, with clear front-runners, a couple of sleepers that have a lot of potential to disrupt, and a few messianic candidates who will likely be revealed as the empty shells they are during the debates. In short, something for everyone. I think a lot of these candidates will be whittled down to a handful heading into the primaries in 2020.
With all that said, I want to dedicate this set to @riotwomennn because I do believe it's time we have a woman's perspective running the country. It just shows that we can disagree on minor issues but at the end of the day will unite behind a common cause.
I wanna give a HUGE shoutout to those of you that have donated to help me renew our hosting service. David J., Patrick S., Anthony S., Casper Y., Ludovic D., your are very much appreciated!
I'll have the 2019 Spring Circuit Edition out by the end of this next week. Until then...ENJOY!

Spring Break 2019 Volume 1

Continuing with the fresher direction I've been taking Dance-Club series, Party Favorz is back just in time for your Spring Break party fun!
This features all the latest dance hits, with bootlegs, mashups, and old favorites reworked for the newer generation of club-goers. There is a good mix of EDM, House, Deep House, Future House, and NuDisco to keep things interesting. All tracks were handpicked by me to ensure high octane and maximum fun!
In an important sidenote — Party Favorz host renewal plan is coming up faster than I anticipated. It actually needs to be renewed on April 4th. Consequently, now is the time for donations to cover my costs to continue this podcast for the remainder of the year. It would be nice if all the backbenchers got off the sidelines and donated at least $5 to help keep this site afloat. I'm counting on you folks to make it happen. I've already personally covered the costs of the new theme and redesign of the site earlier this year — so it's on you to keep things up and running.
I'll be back tomorrow with part two of Spring Break 2019. Until then...ENJOY!

Ariana Grande 2019 | The Diva Series
Tuesday Mar 12, 2019
Tuesday Mar 12, 2019
2018 and 1019 have been a whirlwind of success for Ariana Grande. With multiple #1 singles and Top Tens, the woman is truly "dangerous."
It seems like yesterday that her duet with Iggy Azalea "Problem" was the song of the summer but that was only in 2014. Even with her public romances and subsequent breakups and the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing. Less than a month later, Ariana went back to the UK and held the "One Love Manchester" benefit concert for the victims of the bombing where 22 people were killed and another 250 injured. Broadcast live on TV, radio, and social media, the concert went on to be ranked as the #1 concert of 2017.
Ariana Grande has been a prolific advocate for a variety of issues including ending online bullying, gun control, LGBT rights, and Black Lives Matter amongst others.
At the young age of 25, the powerhouse vocalist, who is often compared to another famous chanteuse in the Party Favorz Diva Hall of Fame, Mariah Carey — has the world at her fingertips and has a very long and successful career ahead of her.
It's for these reasons and so much more that Party Favorz — once again — inducts the fabulous and crazy-talented Ariana Grande into the Diva Hall of Fame. ENJOY!
Donate and keep the party going!
