Disco Voyagé

Friday Oct 26, 2018
Though it's cold, drizzling, and frankly miserable, HAPPY FRIDAY anyway! Party Favorz is proud to roll-out the latest FunkyDiscoHouseShit to lift your spirits this weekend with Disco Voyagé.
If anyone needs to be lifted up, it sure as shit is me. When I tried to start my car this morning, it was completely dead. It was a complete system gone bonkers as everything came on but the engine wouldn't turn over. The dashboard was lit up like a Christmas tree including battery, oil, and a series of messages including brake malfunction. These newer computerized cars that practically drive themselves, are not all they're cracked up to be.
I realize, this happens to everyday folks all the time, but it just seems with me that it's one thing after another. Sometimes, it feels like I'm cursed and every week brings a new headache.
Nevertheless, that's not your problem. I'm just venting because I can.
I'm currently working on a new set for Underground House, meaning a whole bunch of new Tech-House hits coming your way next week. The week after that, I plan on a birthday surprise for myself (I deserve it) and will be delivering a new Legacy entry for one of my favorite DJ/producers of the moment. He's only been around for several years, but the man is simply burning it up with his modern-day disco-infused remixes.
For now, I'll just leave it at that, because this set is smoking HOT! Even the most dourer of you will be hard-pressed to not wanna get up and dance, once you take this for a spin. I'll be back next week with something new. Until then...ENJOY!
I want to give a massive shoutout to Anthony S., Glenn A., Ignacio G., Terry C., Nicholas C., Paul B., Steve N., Daisuke M., Scotty O., and Albert R. for their donations! Party Favorz is truly a global platform as some of these donations came from Japan and Greece. You are much appreciated!
This is a known issue with Honda Civics since 2016 and has never been recalled much less fixed. My car is a 2017 with less than 7,000 miles on it. SMDH!

Shannon | The Diva Series
Thursday Oct 25, 2018
Thursday Oct 25, 2018
Shannon Brenda Greene[1][2] (born May 2, 1958), known by the mononym Shannon, is an American singer and songwriter of freestyle and dance-pop music. She is best known for her single "Let the Music Play" and "Give Me Tonight" which topped the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in 1983-84.
In 1985, Shannon released her second album "Don't You Wanna Get Away," with the same-titled single reaching #1 on Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
By the time her third album was released in 1986, it appeared her steam was running out. The album "Love Goes All the Way" failed to chart any singles on the dance charts and the radio. What is odd is that Shannon helped pioneer the freestyle genre and it was going stronger than ever at the time. Expose and Lisa Lisa with Cult Jam was very successful on the radio and in the clubs. Freestyle dominated the club charts and radio well into the mid-90s.
Despite looking like an 80's icon that was later the image of Whitney Houston and a great singing voice, it almost appeared that Atlantic records lost interest in promoting her as an artist or didn't know how to market her. By 1987, Shannon asked to be released from her recording contract.
In the 90s, Shannon had a resurgence with remixes of her two biggest hits by Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, and Chris Cox amongst others. She went on to further success recording for Todd Terry, Tony Moran, and Sash!.
It's a shame Shannon had not gained the level of stardom that her peers had, especially since she embodied the full '80s package. Nevertheless, her earliest hits are part of the GenX musical catalog that is beloved by millions.
The first half of this tribute covers her 80's output and then transitions into her 90's work, which consists of House Music, Trance, and Circuit.
It is with great honor that Party Favorz inducts the fabulous Shannon into the Diva Hall of Fame.

HW2018
Saturday Oct 20, 2018
Saturday Oct 20, 2018
I decided to go ahead and drop this year's HW18 early, which features the top Dance and Club hits that you're already hearing or will soon.
In keeping with the changes I have been slowly implementing to keep things fresh, I've also thrown in some amazing tracks from small independent labels that do not have the resources to widely promote their artists. There truly is some great music being produced by these various labels and worthy of inclusion.
In addition, whenever I come across an old pop hit or dance track that's been remixed for today's floors, I like to throw those in as an added bonus. Australia's Leo Frappier under the Division 4 moniker is quite possibly the best at this but there are definitely others. No point in mentioning the tracks; you'll know them the minute you hear them, even if the title doesn't match up.
ADS IN PODCASTS
You may have noticed ads popping up again in my podcasts. This is coming directly from Podbean and I just emailed them this morning demanding answers. Adding ads has always been an option for me but I chose not to because nobody listens to them, they provide a bad user experience, and frequently the ads have no added value to my followers. I'm really pretty pissed at the moment and waiting for whatever bullshit response they send back to me before I make any drastic decisions.
PAYPAL, CREDIT CARDS & OTHER OPTIONS FOR DONATING
I've also gotten a couple of calls to add back the credit card option for processing payments. PayPal used to do this but it appears now they force you into having an account with them. To be honest, I recently got fucked so hard by PayPal, I'm going to have to take them to court. Sadly, as part of their user agreement, I will be forced into arbitration using their own arbitrators by whatever court I file with. It's part of their user agreement that ALL companies are beginning to implement to prevent class action lawsuits.
PayPal first added up to $300 into my account that apparently, they were taking from my checking account without any notice. The issue is that my bank was refusing those withdrawals and had just performed a complete overhaul of their app and website requiring new more difficult passwords. I was locked out for over a month before this was straightened out. I assumed these were donations but they were not. Two weeks later, PayPal shows that the withdrawals were rejected by my bank showing a negative balance on my PayPal account.
Once I finally gained access to my bank account, I saw where PayPal was running these transactions day after day, sometimes twice in the same day. Needless to say, I was furious. I had to deposit $3,000 in account loaned to me by my mother to cover all my payments being rejected due to PayPal's relentless and punitive attacks on my checking account.
Once straightened out, PayPal took out the balance from my account but it never showed up in PayPal nor in my online bank ledger, which is really good at showing pending transactions immediately, but for some reason never appeared. These transactions were not in my bank nor in PayPal. I sent the money to PayPal to cover the costs but not only had they already received the money but they got it again from me.
To add insult to injury, a week later and despite already having received the money they erroneously put into my PayPal account, they took out another $200 from my checking account for absolutely no reason at all. It took well over a week to have those funds available in my PayPal account so I could transfer them back to my checking account.
To this date, I have incurred over $1,200 in NSF charges on my checking account. After spending countless hours on the phone with them, they sent me an email stating that they do not refund NSF charges even when it's clearly their fault. WHAT. THE. FUCK!
At this point, my checking account is in the hole and I'll be skipping a car payment this month. I still use PayPal because my options are limited for donatio...

Halloween Edition 2018
Friday Oct 19, 2018
Friday Oct 19, 2018
As promised, I'm dropping the MASSIVE bomb, Halloween Edition 2018. As usual, this isn't some themed set based on Halloween. I just like making sexy creepy artwork to accompany the mix based on the season. I did drop Barry Harris' remix of Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' into the set but other than that, I didn't fill it with a bunch of useless spooky effects that take away from what you came here for. That is, massive anthems, soaring DIVAS, and tribal fun!
As you all know, I moved out of Atlanta in 2015 to the burbs and now reside in Gwinnett County in Georgia. You may have heard of it, as it's been in the news a lot lately due our current Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, who is running for governor while simultaneously overseeing his own election. He has been systematically suppressing the vote by throwing out absentee ballots for minor issues like matching signatures and missing hyphens or spaces in names and addresses.
So far, there have been 53,000 of these that have been thrown out, with a disproportionate number (over 70%) of them being minority voters. This is a clearcut effort to suppress democracy of likely Democratic voters. In short, it's outright fraud! Then again, I wouldn't expect anything less than the normal lying, stealing, and cheating at all costs to manipulate the voting system by Republicans. It's the only way they know how to win. When you have a minority ruling over a majority, there is something seriously wrong with our Republic.
I've been phone banking for a new candidate to go up against the long-entrenched Republican in our county who is now ahead and has amassed over a million dollars in the last quarter. Meanwhile, Republicans have pulled support for their candidate and put the money in more competitive races.
Then again, that's not your problem because we are here today to gather around this thing called life...Oh wait, that's Prince; nevermind. I'll be back probably around Wednesday or Thursday with the next installment of HW18, or the Halloween version of the biggest EDM and dance club hits. Until then...ENJOY!

Coldplay: From Rock Stardom to Dance Floor Anthems – The Essential Remixes
Wednesday Oct 10, 2018
Wednesday Oct 10, 2018
In the annals of modern rock, few bands have resonated on as many emotional frequencies as Coldplay. Originally formed in 1996, this iconic quartet—comprised of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion—captured hearts and eardrums worldwide. While they initially turned heads with the release of EPs, it was their 1999 single "Yellow" that catapulted them to international stardom.
The real cornerstone of Coldplay's journey, however, was laid with their seminal albums "Parachutes" and "A Rush of Blood To the Head." Placed on the pedestal of art-rock significance alongside Radiohead's magnum opus "OK Computer," these albums are more than just a collection of songs. They are emotional guideposts that have deeply impacted the lives of countless fans, becoming part of their personal soundtracks.
In the years that followed, Coldplay continued to churn out hook-laden anthems that have received a spectrum of reviews. Nonetheless, tracks like "Viva La Vida," "Sky Full of Stars," and their Chainsmokers collaboration, "Something Just Like This," have reinforced their grip on popular culture.
Now, let's talk about a fascinating but often understated aspect of their musical portfolio: dance remixes. Initially regarded as peripheral experiments, the tide shifted with the "Clocks" remix from their "Parachutes" album, particularly the Heaven & Earth Division Remix. The EDM and House Music scenes found a symbiotic relationship with Coldplay's stadium anthems, paving the way for more electronic reimaginations of their work.
Taking cues from our U2 Legacy set, Party Favorz pays homage to Coldplay's foray into dance music by spotlighting some epic remixes. First on the list is "A Sky Full Of Stars," seamlessly remixed by Hardwell and produced by Avicii. The electrifying beats elevate the song into an ecstatic anthem, amplifying its original emotional intensity.
The transformative touch of Cor Fijneman on "Viva La Vida" is another example of synergy between Coldplay's emotive tunes and the high-energy pulse of dance music. The remix transports the listener to a realm where orchestral rock and electronic beats collide, creating a euphoric experience.
Alesso's take on "Something Just Like This," originally a collaboration with the Chainsmokers, adds an extra layer of shimmering synths and adrenaline-pumping bass, making it an EDM masterpiece that dazzles on the dance floor.
Last but not least, the FKYA & Khøst Remix of "Yellow" brings us full circle. The track, which initially made Coldplay a household name, is infused with electronic textures that give it a fresh yet nostalgic allure.
So, as we celebrate Coldplay's extensive reach into both the realms of rock and dance music, it's evident that their musical influence continues to evolve. The band's original compositions have the power to captivate hearts, while their remixes have become anthems for dance floors around the globe. This duality underscores their enduring appeal and artistry in a continuously changing musical landscape.

U2: A Dance Floor Revolution — The Ultimate Remix Tribute
Tuesday Sep 25, 2018
Tuesday Sep 25, 2018
The 1980s were a fertile ground for trailblazing artists who managed to capture not just the zeitgeist but also the hearts of listeners worldwide. The list of iconic performers includes Madonna, Michael Jackson, Prince, R.E.M., The Police, and Bruce Springsteen, among others. Among these legends, U2 stands as a powerful collective force, earning the undying loyalty of millions through their authenticity, musical prowess, and sociopolitical activism.
Let's be honest: anyone who has experienced a U2 concert or heard their live recordings can attest to the transformative nature of their anthemic reinterpretations. The group’s deeply affecting music and message build an almost magnetic connection between them and their audience.
Fast forward to the 1990s, and we find Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. venturing into the then-emerging realms of techno and trance. Though the band’s experimentation had its hits and misses, the innovative remixes by Paul Oakenfold, and to some extent William Orbit, imparted a new dimension to U2’s sound. This stylistic pivot enabled U2 to extend their influence to global dancefloors without compromising their core message.
So here we are, celebrating U2’s enduring capacity to evolve while focusing exclusively on their contributions to dance music. Party Favorz presents a curated tribute, showcasing the rock legends as reimagined by a roster of electronic artists.
First up, we have the "New Year's Day" remix by Ferry Corsten. This rendition adds pulsating beats that make the track a dance-floor staple, yet Corsten smartly retains the song’s original fervor.
"Mysterious Ways" takes a new turn with The Perfecto Mix, showcasing U2's flirtation with techno elements. The remix elevates the track into a rhythmic experience without losing its core essence.
Cowboy Mike delivers a compelling remix of "Where The Streets Have No Name." The energy and pacing have been recalibrated, transforming the song into a high-octane electronic journey.
Clinton Sparks takes "With Or Without You" and dials up the tempo, imbuing the classic ballad with a lively beat while preserving its emotional resonance.
Tiesto joins the fray with an extended version of "Pride (In The Name of Love)." His take infuses electronic zest into the song, elevating its anthemic power to new heights.
Lastly, the Quincey & Sonance Remix of "Beautiful Day" turns the uplifting original rock anthem into a dazzling dance anthem without tarnishing its sun-soaked optimism.
Through these inspired remixes, U2’s timeless appeal has crossed into the realm of dance music, displaying the band's remarkable adaptability and enduring resonance.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you my tribute to one of rock's greatest and most influential bands as reinterpreted by other electronic artists, U2.

Formed in Liverpool in 1980, Dead or Alive achieved their stride in the mid-1980s, gracing the UK Top 40 charts with seven singles and the Top 30 with three albums. Notably, they were the first act to score a number-one single under the legendary production team of Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW). At the height of their fame, the band's lineup included Pete Burns on vocals, Mike Percy on bass, Steve Coy on drums, and Tim Lever on keyboards. Over their career, they released seven studio albums and five compilation albums.
Two of their singles even cracked the U.S. Top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100: "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" reached No. 11 in 1985, and "Brand New Lover" climbed to No. 15 in 1986. The iconic "You Spin Me Round" not only topped the UK charts for two weeks but also enjoyed renewed attention in 2003 and 2006 after Pete Burns appeared on the reality show Celebrity Big Brother.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU
As a Gen-Xer who grew up in the '80s, I can confidently say that Dead or Alive was a cultural powerhouse. Besides their chart-topping singles, tracks like "Lover Come Back to Me," "My Heart Goes Bang (Get Me a Doctor)," "Something in My House," and "Come Home With Me Baby" were staples that filled dance floors during their heyday.
Under the guidance of Stock Aitken Waterman, Dead or Alive produced some of the most unforgettable Hi-NRG dance tracks of that era. Regrettably, the band's charismatic lead singer, Pete Burns, passed away from cardiac arrest in 2016 at the age of 57.
Dead or Alive wasn't just about music; their impact extended to promoting gender fluidity during an era known for its excess and big hair. The band's influence on both dance music and social norms is immeasurable.
With immense respect and admiration, Party Favorz proudly inducts Dead or Alive into our Diva Hall of Fame, as well as into our Legacy Dance Tribute series.

Bananarama | The Diva Series
Thursday Sep 20, 2018
Thursday Sep 20, 2018
After having finished the Exposé diva series, I decided to round out a couple of previous requests for 80's iconic artists. The next entry into the Diva Hall of Fame is none other than Bananarama.
Bananarama is an English female pop music vocal group formed in London in 1981 by friends Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, and, Keren Woodward. Their success on both pop and dance charts has earned them a listing in the Guinness World Records as the all-female group with the most chart entries in the world.[1]
The group was phenomenally successful in the UK and throughout Europe with a fair deal of success in the US. Hit's like "Na Na Hey Hey (Kiss Him Goodbye)," "Cruel Summer," "I Heard A Rumor," and the worldwide #1 "Venus" are staples in their massive catalog.
Their overall success heavily relied on popular songs from the past, reinterpreted for a newer audience. It was this successful formula for much of the 191980shat1980s fueled their stardom.
Originally, I was going to focus this set on just their eighties output but to make it work, I went ahead and pulled from their 1990 album "Pop Life" which featured Jacquie O'Sullivan who replaced Fahey after she left and formed the group Shakespeares Sister. Overall, this is a fun set that relies heavily on the production work of Stock, Aitken & Waterman (SAW) who are one of the most successful production teams in pop music history. InTheyre instrumental in the success of our next entrant into the Diva Hall of Fame tomorrow.
With the original group intact, Bananarama recently finished a very successful tour in the UK and North America this past August that featured all of their hits.
Party Favorz is excited to officially enter Bananarama into the Diva Hall of Fame. Let the celebrations begin!

Exposé | The Diva Series
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
Wednesday Sep 19, 2018
We're going back to the 80's this week with our latest Diva Hall of Fame entry, Exposé!
Exposé is an American Latin freestyle vocal group. Primarily consisting of lead vocalists Jeanette Jurado, Ann Curless, and Gioia Bruno, the group achieved much of their success between 1984 and 1993, becoming the first group to have four top ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart from its debut album, including the 1988 #1 hit "Seasons Change".[1] In March 2015, Billboard magazine named the group the eighth most-successful girl group of all time[2]
Back in the day, these ladies struck gold with their debut album "Exposure," which racked up 4 top tens hits ("Come Go With Me," "Let Me Be the One," "Point of No Return") and the one number 1 hit "Seasons Change."
They continued their streak with their follow-up album "What You Don't Know" featuring the self-titled single, "Tell Me Why," and "Stop, Listen, Look & Think." As the 90s rolled around their popularity began to wane, even though freestyle had taken off.
Exposé continues to tour today. One of our followers suggested I enter them into the Diva Hall of Fame after recently seeing them in concert.
Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen I give you Exposé.

The title "Feel It | Deep & Dark Tech House Sprinkled with Power House is exactly what this set claims to be. The first half is full of some fairly dark Tech House before I break up the monotony with some funkier Power House tracks and go back and forth from there. This won't be for everyone but give it a chance and you might be surprised.
FYI, I am aware that there were some ads inserted into my last two posts. Clearly, that was an accident by Podbean and they have since gone back and corrected it. You should be able to stream and/or download Fall Edition 2018 and Summer Farewell 2018 pt. 2 without the annoying ads at the beginning.
In other news, I've gotten a few requests for a boatload of tracks that I use in my sets and I have to be pretty frank. I've spent a great deal of my time cultivating relationships with labels and individual DJ's to get some of the exclusives that I use. My agreement with them is that I do not share these tracks, even though many often end up on various free download sites. Most of the time, I have a lot going on in my life and frankly just don't have the time nor am I interested in violating any agreement I have with those artists and labels. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
However, if you scour SoundCloud, you will often find that many of them give away their bootlegs for free. So that's a good place to start but it's not really my place to become a conduit for uploading a bunch of songs for folks to download. In Fact, if you follow my account on SoundCloud, you'll see what I've favorited which are usually tracks that I plan on using in my various sets. Sorry, but that's just the way it has to be.
I did receive a special request to for a particular Diva Hall of Fame entry by Gene and I am seriously considering it but I can't make any guarantees. I'll have to see what I can pull together.
I want to thank Paul F. for his donation, those are always welcome.
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and as always...ENJOY!

Summer Farewell 2018 Volume 2
Thursday Aug 30, 2018
Thursday Aug 30, 2018
Forget everything I said about cooling days in my last post. We're back into high digits and muggy weather and I expect it to continue for some time. Nevertheless, we're still saying goodbye with the 2018 Summer Farewell pt. 2 set. This time around it's all about Funky Disco House music.
So what do DJ Spinner, Bill Withers, Men At Work, David Bowie, Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Michael Jackson, Duck Sauce, Sugarhill Gang, Freemasons, Hall & Oates, and Anita Ward have in common? They are all featured in this set in one form or another. It may appear pretty eclectic but once you pop this on, it'll all make sense.
This booty-shaking, rumpalicious set for the waning days of summer consists of House Music, Deep House, Soulful House and of course, my favorite genre, DISCO! I kept this set tight so there is no filler here; just soothing disco-house-music to enjoy these final days of summer before heading back to school.
I've started compiling the tracks for this year's Fall Edition, so keep an eye out for that sometime next week. Until then...ENJOY!
