Happy House Classics from the Millennium Volume 4

I was going to post a fifth volume of Happy House Classics from the Millennium but decided to update an older Diva Hall of Fame entry for the ailing Aretha Franklin. The woman is an icon and one of the greatest female singers of all time. While it's too soon to write her obituary, I truly adore this woman and all that she has contributed to popular music.
In the interim, please enjoy this fourth set of Happy House Classics that pretty much covers a little from 2007 but predominantly from 2008. Pink 2018 | The Diva Series

As I promised yesterday, I've got another updated set featuring a past inductee into the Diva Hall of Fame, who compliments yesterday's re-induction of Kelly Clarkson. I am talking about none other than the fabulous Pink!
Their paths were similar in that they were both pigeonholed by their labels into the current R&B, hip-hop style of the moment with their first albums. While both were successful, their debut albums did not necessarily represent their style. It wasn't until their second album that they transitioned into a more pop-rock style that they exploded. Both are fantastic vocalists and both can render heart-wrenching songs that swell our broken hearts.
While Kelly always maintained a persona wrapped around the perky, sweet innocent girl with a rock edge, Pink was the more in-your-face, not politically correct bad girl of pop who didn't give a fuck what others thought about her.
Of course, much of this was a facade as well all know the bad girl from Pennsylvania had kind of leather and lace persona who wore her heart on her sleeve. Pink went through some transitions on her first three albums before really solidifying her sound. It was all uphill from there.
Known for her amazing acrobatic performances in concert, a testament to her amazing stamina, she cannot only captivate us with her voice and music but with her artistic performances that continue to defy. No one (not even Madonna) comes close.
Pink is currently on tour but has been temporarily sidelined due to a gastric virus. We hope this is not serious and that she'll be back up and running in no time.
In the meantime, Pink 2018 builds on the original set released in 2013 with several updated versions of her earlier work and newer material. It is my greatest pleasure to once again reinduct Pink into the Diva Hall of Fame. ENJOY!

Kelly Clarkson 2018 | The Diva Series

Party Favorz is digging into our past inductees into the Diva Hall of Fame and updating those that have since released considerable new material with a refresh of the original inductions.
Kelly Clarkson is one of two divas getting a makeover. While her original induction from 2013 is still available, she remains just as viable today as she did when it was released.
Considered America's sweetheart, she is a refreshing breath of fresh air from all the noise that's cluttering up our social collective. She also remains a badass and shows her feisty spirit when called out with negativity.
When a troll on Twitter made a very random remark that she was fat, she flatly replied:
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Yes, girl, YOU ARE! Kelly is beautiful no matter her size and her winning personality and awesome vocals will keep us in her corner for eternity. Kelly can be seen as a coach on NBC's The Voice though honestly, I don't have cable so I couldn't tell if it's still on or not. She also just finished a pilot for a daytime talk show and is currently shopping it around to the various networks. Once again, it's her personality that will likely get it picked up and I wish nothing but continued success for her.
In the interim, we've polished up the old set and introduced a slew of hit singles and bootlegs to keep it fresh. With much love and admiration, Party Favorz recognizes the massive talent of this woman and her contributions to the dance floor. R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

Dopamine

Anyone that goes to Beatport, Traxsource or even JunoDownload can easily glance at their Top 10 or 20 and preview what is "supposedly" the top-selling tracks overall or by genre.
Probably the worst offender here is Beatport who's charts reflect nothing but utter shit leading me to believe that their charts, more than any other, are manipulated by the labels that release them.
I consistently see a bunch of repetitive droned-out garbage that wouldn't catch the attention of a gnat much less an entire dancefloor perched at the peak. Sure, there are few gems that rightfully show up there but not many.
I probably spend more time digging through their new releases and archives trying to find the songs that are worthy of inclusion in one of my underground house sets. I don't always get it right, but I know what I like and can easily gauge what followers of Party Favorz like as well; meaning, I am usually on-target with my picks.
When I'm coming up short, I'll look beyond these services for dubs or alternate versions of popular songs which are catchy but stray so far from the original; you'd never know it was a particular song. I like those finds.
Dopamine is one of those sets. While still tech and house it does lean towards a more funky vibe that I tend to favor. I had a lot more songs than what's represented here but cut the shit out of it to keep the vibe I was going for consistent throughout, while (hopefully) not losing your attention. I think I hit my mark.
There are flourishes of Latin house throughout this set, which is relevant given the recent revival of 60's era Pete Rodriguez' "I Like It Like That" which was re-worked into a number one club anthem in the 90's by Blackout Allstars, and now by Cardi B whose "I Like It" has gone on to be the #1 song of the summer.
Overall, I'm pleased with this set though with stronger releases it could have been even better, but it literally takes hours to scour all of these services to find the right batch of songs for inclusion, which I don't have.
Leaving it at that, if you enjoy what I've been playing in the underground series since Sweat On the Dancefloor or Push the Tempo, you're gonna love this.
I may start working on a new batch of Happy House classics from the Millennium shortly, but we'll see. Until then...ENJOY!

Beach Party 2018 Volume 2

As promised, Party Favorz is back with even more smoldering summer dance club tracks! We pick the hits, so you don't have to hunt for them on Spotify.
Okay, that may be an overstatement, but we (meaning I) do my best to ensure you're getting the latest and greatest along with upcoming club tracks that are hitting my radar and wrapping them up in one tight continuous dance set. After all, who wants a bunch of random radio edits that fade in and out? You can listen to the radio for free for that.
Beach Party 2018 part 2 takes on a whole new direction in that not only did I include a multitude of current and upcoming hits but picked up some fun disco and house classics that have been reworked for today's dancefloor. It definitely keeps things interesting.
For instance, KC & the Sunshine Band's "Get Down Tonight" has been entirely revamped and is currently blowing up just about every chart I've seen, and rightfully so. Though it's a tad bit overcompressed (beyond my control), the disco original explodes with synths and heavy bass making it a perfect staple for a new generation.
Equally, Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing" get's an overhaul with Softmal's "I Believe In Miracles," which creates a sense of relevance and fun for today's listeners while keeping the bouncy playfulness of the original nearly intact. There are many others included here that go by different names, but you'll instantly recognize them once the chorus hits.
Other tracks that I've been all over include AuRa and Camelphat's "Panic Room" and Sofi Tukker's playful disco-infused "Batshit" courtesy of Purple Disco Machine. With new tracks from P!nk, Sultan + Shepard, Vassy, Jonas Blue, Ariana Grande, Troy Sivan, and the song of the summer "I Like It" by Cardi B; it's almost like Christmas in summer.
If you're looking for the amazing new Robyn track "Missing U" sorrow because the official remixes are not out yet other than a couple of bootlegs that don't come close to doing this fantastic track justice. Be patient.

Beach Party 2018 Volume 1

As the days continue to fry our brains and as we melt in the extreme heat and humidity that keeps inching up year after year, Party Favorz is finally back with part one of the 2018 edition of Beach Party; These are the hottest songs of the summer that are guaranteed to make you wanna move.
Due to the structure of the set where it cools down towards the end, I decided to break it off and created a part two to this, which I'll drop tomorrow. While both sets are equally good, I'd give part two a slight edge, but I'll let you folks decide.
Since I've been gone for most of July, you'll also be getting the Summer Edition before the weekend is over. Beach House 2018

Just in time for your Fourth of July, festivities, Party Favorz is back with some brand-spanking new FunkyDiscoHouseShit for your beach and pool parties.
Served with a heaping dose of NuDisco and contemporary House Music, Beach House 2018 is bound to have you pull out your rollerskates so you can get your boogie on! In what are increasingly troubled times, this is the best way to cast your worries aside and just have a good time.
It's been sweltering here in the ATL with daily downpours that lead to muggier than normal evenings. What can I say other than it keeps getting hotter and hotter each year. I can't help but recall the 80's movie Body Heat starring William Hurt and Kathleen Turner. The entire setting of this erotic thriller is reminiscent of the type of weather we've continued to experience year after year.
I hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday (even though it falls in the middle of the week) because I have the distinct feeling this country is heading towards a civil war very soon, and it's not going to be pretty but I digress.

Gay Atlanta Pride Beats 2018

Atlanta doesn't celebrate Pride until early October when the weather is reasonably accommodating. Since there have been a plethora of last-minute Pride-themed tracks that have been released, I decided to green-light a set featuring brand-spanking new tracks. With so much coming out lately, I thought we could get a jump on the annual Summer Edition early on so as not to get too far behind.
This set dovetails nicely with Chicago Pride Beats 2017, that was commissioned by one of our followers last year. The only difference being that these tracks are all new or newly updated classics from the past.
You'll also notice some housed-up songs that follow in the footsteps of T-Dance. In fact, there are so many of these songs coming out these days I may very well knock one out sometime in July. I'm hedging my bets that many of the gay folk here will be all over it.
This set is smoking HOT and I expect you'll be hearing many of these songs throughout the summer at festivals and your local club.
I'm guessing my next move will be the annual Pool Party (formerly Beach House) around July 4th or maybe a new Dance-Club set. I can't say for certain until I dive in. I have not been in the best frame of mind lately. As I try to keep my shit straight, I will officially take the rest of the month off. Don't worry, it's only a couple of weeks before we gear things back up again. I haven't let ya'll down yet.
One other note: The EU is about to vote on Article 13 which could very well jeopardize the fate of Party Favorz in those countries which constitute for half of our followers. I cannot recommend enough that you follow this site on one of the alternate platforms like Apple Music, Google Play, TuneIn, Stitcher, Podbean (sorry Spotify is still down) or use the RSS feed provided at the end of each episode to use in your favorite podcast application or reader. In fact, Party Favorz is also listed in the new Google Podcast app that is available in Google Play store that lists the biggest podcasts out there.

RuPaul | The Diva Series

RuPaul has been recording and building his image since the mimid-80sIt wasn't until his debut album Supermodel of the World in 1993 that all his work paid off. The initial single Supermodel (You Better Work) was a global success, which led to their becoming a spokesperson for MAC cosmetics, his own talk show The RuPaul Show on VH1, a radio show with Michell Visage, cameos in a variety of movies, two books (Lettin' It All Hang Out and Workin' It! RuPaul's Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style), and a total of 14 studio albums. His influence in pop culture and within the drag scene cannot be underestimated. 
"You can call me he. You can call me she. You can call me Regis and Kathie Lee; I don't care! Just as long as you call me."
RuPaul also hosts and produces the widely popular RuPaul's Drag Race which has been running strong since 2009; first on Logo and now on VH1. The show has earned two Primetime Emmy Awards and was recently renewed for its 11th season.
Just in time for Pride 2019, it's my greatest pleasure to honor the Queen of Drag into the Diva Hall of Fame not only for his camp-style booty-shaking house-music floor stompers but for his tireless work for the LGBT+ community, equality, and empowerment. He or she; (who gives a f!@#) is adored by millions and will go down in history as a pioneering visionary in the fight for equal rights and visibility. We love you Ru. Keep doing what you're doing. Erika Jayne | The Diva Series

Party Favorz is back with a new entry into the Diva Hall of Fame. Erika Jayne (Erika Girardi) was born and raised in Atlanta, GA (my adopted home city) and rose to prominence with the release of her debut single Rollercoaster in 2007, which topped the Billboard Dance Club chart. Subsequent singles like Stars, Give You Everything, and Pretty Mess hit the top spot followed by the release of her underrated debut album Pretty Mess. Produced by the legendary Eric Kupper, the album was heavily influenced by 80's icons like Madonna and Prince while retaining an electro-pop sensibility that was modern at the time of its release. It really is stellar if you've never had the chance to listen to it.
In keeping with our promise to induct virtually every Diva in Billboard's 100 Greatest of All Time Top Dance Club Artists, Ms. Jayne ranks at no. 42 with a total of 9 number-one club hits under her belt.
Party Favorz was fortunate enough to interview Erika during her ascendancy, which is still available on the site. I am not a journalist, nor do I pretend to be. So it's a pretty meat-and-potatoes interview but she was nice enough to send us some really cool t-shirts that were later auctioned off.
Many of you know Erika Jayne as a fan-favorite on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in addition to multiple stints on The Young and the Restless as well as other television shows. She continues to tour and appear at multiple Pride events throughout the country as we gays absolutely adore this woman. Just one look at her video for One Hot Pleasure and you'll know why.
While Erika continues to release singles like the playful XX$PENSIVE (included here) and the recent Cars, she hasn't commissioned remixes like she did with her previous efforts. She has been remixed by some of the biggest names in the industry, so I took the liberty of including at least two different versions of her biggest hits in this set. They are so unique and different, it's often difficult to discern that they are the same song; giving testament to how strong the originals were.
