Push The Tempo
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Quick question: What do Salt N Pepa, Martha Wash, Mary J. Blige, The Jacksons, a cheesy Hi-NRG song from the 90's, Loleatta Holloway, and one of my all-time favorite house tracks from the early millennium have in common?
If you said Push the Tempo, you get a gold star. Some of the origins of the tracks are obvious, while others not so much. Have fun playing "where have I heard that before?"
I had several tracks spread out in folders for the next Underground House and Funky Disco House set(s) but not enough to complete either. So I threw them all together and the result is one slamming party mix appropriately titled Push the Tempo.
With so much on my plate and some promising news coming my way (hopefully sooner than not), I've decided to go ahead and start dropping the 2018 Pride Editions early. Though not completed yet, I've already compiled the tracklist and expect to start rolling those out soon. That will give me a lot of breathing room in June to focus on other "things." I'll post more about it this later this week.
In the meantime, if you need a good pick me up, Push the Tempo is a great place to start. ENJOY!

Avicii Remembered: A Dance Music Tribute to His Unforgettable Legacy
Sunday Apr 22, 2018
Sunday Apr 22, 2018
When it comes to the titans of electronic dance music, one name that always echoes in our hearts is Avicii. Known for his distinct flair of blending melodies with pulsating beats, Avicii left us all too soon in April 2018. Here at Party Favorz, it's more than just about the beats—it's about honoring the creative geniuses who have shaped dance floors around the world. Today, we pay homage with a special tribute dance mix that takes you on a sentimental journey through Avicii's remarkable career.
Crafting Masterpieces: The Songs That Defined Avicii
One of Avicii's earliest triumphs was "My Feelings For You," a collaboration with Sebastien Drums. The original mix put both artists on the EDM map and showed the industry a new approach to harmonizing rhythms and melodies. It was fresh, invigorating, and signaled the arrival of a new musical savant.
Who could forget Avicii's imprint on Coldplay's "A Sky Full Of Stars"? Avicii transformed the original tune into an anthemic journey fit for any festival stage. The track masterfully encapsulated his ability to transcend genres while preserving the soul of the original song.
Then there's "Levels," with vocals by Etta James. Here, the DJ Markell & Allex Franko remix gives this classic tune a fresh spin, fusing the iconic vocals with euphoric dance beats. The song not only topped the charts but also became an anthem for an entire generation of electronic music lovers.
Operating under his alias Tim/Berg, "Bromance (The Love You Seek)," featuring vocals by Amanda Wilson, was a game-changer in Avicii's career. The song seamlessly merged heartfelt lyrics with the uplifting energy that is the hallmark of great dance music.
The emotional depth of "Silhouettes," with vocals by Salem Al Fakir, demonstrated Avicii's ability to craft complex arrangements while touching on themes of change and metamorphosis. It was a musical tapestry that revealed a more intimate side of the artist.
"I Could Be The One," a partnership with Nicky Romero featuring vocals by Noonie Bao, captivated audiences with its catchy lyrics and beat, defining Avicii's signature style of melodic house music. It was more than a track; it was a statement of artistic identity.
Last but certainly not least, "Wake Me Up," featuring vocals by Aloe Blacc, became a global phenomenon. The song showcased Avicii's genre-blending prowess, infusing country elements with dance rhythms to create a cross-over masterpiece.
The Tribute Mix: Celebrating a Phenomenal Legacy
Our special tribute mix isn't just a compilation; it's a heartfelt dedication to a musical genius taken too soon. The set weaves through these career-defining tracks, reminding us not only of Avicii's talent but also of the joy and unity his music continues to bring to dance floors worldwide. As we blend the beats and rhythms, each transition is a nod to his unique ability to make people feel alive through music.
Avicii's work has left an indelible imprint not just on electronic dance music but on global pop culture. This tribute mix aims to encapsulate the emotions, the highs, and yes, the levels, that his music has taken us through over the years.
While words can hardly capture the magic that was Avicii, it's through music that we find our most fitting tribute. As we navigate through each iconic track, we're reminded of the footprints he's left in our musical hearts. For those who've been following Party Favorz, you know how deeply we respect those who've made an impact on dance music. Avicii's legacy is one that will continue to resonate through the ages, just like the unforgettable melodies he created.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Dance Music For the Masses [D M M]
Friday Apr 20, 2018
Friday Apr 20, 2018
Hey folks, let’s cut to the chase. I know I said I was stepping back for a bit, but the dance music scene isn’t slowing down, and neither are we. So, here’s another killer set, D M M [Dance Music For the Masses]. Think of it as the cooler cousin to our Spring Break 2018 set. It’s a 2.5-hour ride through what’s genuinely worth listening to right now. I’ve gone through it a few times to make sure everything's on point. No fluff, no filler.
What’s In the Mix?
You've got a blend of tracks that cover all corners of dance music. Joe Stone and Cr3on’s "Is It Really Love" is in there, and it’s a smooth starter. It's got a vibe that’s hard to pin down, somewhere between Future House and your standard dance track. It sets the mood without trying too hard, you know?
And speaking of setting moods, Dua Lipa’s “IDGAF” gets a remix treatment that takes it to a whole new level. Charlie Lane and Jason Reilly knew what they were doing. It's not just a remix; it's like they reinvented the wheel without making it square.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh8b8x9o1qI
Ever listened to Years & Years' "Sanctify" by OffSet? If you haven’t, you’re missing out. OffSet takes a soulful track and twists it into something you'd want to hear at a club at 1 a.m. It's got complexity without being pretentious—a tough line to walk in dance music.
Also, shoutout to M-22 and Medina's "First Time." This track sits right in the sweet spot between Future House and Tech House. It's versatile, making it a good fit whether you're chilling at home or letting loose on the dance floor.
Oh, and if you're into the mainstream stuff, David Guetta and Sia’s "Flames" gets a Pink Panda makeover that's worth a listen. It’s the same song you know and love, but with a little extra something that just clicks.
Wrapping It Up
Look, there's more I could say, but the playlist speaks for itself. All these tracks, whether original or remixed, come from people who live and breathe dance music. So give D M M [Dance Music For the Masses] a spin and let the beats talk.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Bionic Boogie
Saturday Apr 14, 2018
Saturday Apr 14, 2018
I've been working on Bionic Boogie for the better part of two weeks. It's a combination of Nu Disco, House Music, Gospel House, Soulful House, Funk, and re-worked Disco Classics that will help ease you into Summer!
The original set was coming in over 2 hours+ and something didn't quite sit right with me after repeated listens. I went back to surgically remove some tunes but that still wasn't working. Finally, I cut 1/3 of the fat, trimming it down to a more manageable 80 minutes.
Because of the excise, expect the set to take a noticeable turn after the third song. The switch up was my intention to keep folks engaged, if not surprised. Let's just say that the song "Freedom" by Disco Incorporated is NOT what you'd expect it to be. In fact, there was a recent viral tweet about a certain megaband whose music was not danceable. In all honesty, their music was never intended for dance floors but Deep Dish got there first and you sure as shit can dance to this updated re-work; that's all I'm sayin.
With the trims I made to this set, I may have enough to go back and put together another Trash Disco set for all of the hardcore disco-fanatics (like myself) at a later date. I'm not making any promises but it's definitely on my radar.
In other news, getting back into Spotify does not look promising. I've identified the issue but my podcast host Podbean prefers to play dumb and then refers me to Spotify who then refers me back to Podbean in a vicious circle of stupidity that I really don't have time for. I'd be shocked if this ever gets resolved and I have no plans on expending all of my energy trying to fix the issue. If it happens, I'll let you know but I wouldn't hold my breath.
That's all I got for this weekend. As new tracks continue to roll in, expect a new Dance Club set in the coming weeks. Until then...ENJOY!

Spring Edition 2018 Volume 2
Sunday Apr 08, 2018
Sunday Apr 08, 2018
The Spring Edition 2018 pt. 2 is chock-full of big tribal beats, t-dance favorites, and fierce DIVAS! Overall, the set is more restrained than previous offerings which is an effort to mix things up a bit.
I'm releasing this set a week early because if I sit on it, I'll be tempted to add new things or muck-around with it which I hate doing when it's already perfection.
For the most part, I am musically spent at the moment. That is, we're at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to new tunes. Sure, there are few new dance-club releases that are surefire hits going into the summer but not near enough to justify a new release. Same goes with funky disco house. Truth is, folks have been digging on the Holiday Edition 2017 and Disco Dust for a while as the numbers for my latest releases are just now starting to inch up.
I get it, my output is generally way ahead of the charts and the clubs as I like to strike well before these tracks hit big. It takes several months for folks to catch-up.
From here, I think we're going to cool things down a bit and let all this new stuff I've already put out digest. There's more than enough new music to keep everyone entertained (distracted) for a while. I'll resume things once I enough selections start coming through again.
I have since moved everything over to our new host, which doesn't affect the operations of the site. I'll be tinkering around with the site and begin working with Spotify to see about getting the feed re-added to their listing. Basically, just general background stuff.
I want to give a shout-out to Paul B, Brad C., and Andy M. for their recent donations. They'are ALWAYS appreciated!
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and as always...ENJOY!

Back 2 the 80’s Volume 2 | 80’s Dance Megamix
Sunday Apr 08, 2018
Sunday Apr 08, 2018
I'm back with of Back 2 the 80's pt. 2, a monster mix of classic dance hits from the era. I've got enough to likely make a third set and maybe even throw in a New Wave version as well. If I do, I'll post those later in the year.
Originally, this was going to be one giant 4-hour set but I decided to split it in two. When you're working with those many songs at once, mistakes are bound to happen. In this case, I duplicated the fantastic Gwen Guthrie #1 club classic "Ain't Nothin Goin on but the Rent." Maybe I just liked the song so much I used it twice LOL. Anyway, I didn't bother fixing it. I just wanted to ensure ya'll know I'm aware of the mistake.
I'll be back next week with a massive new set of something. I'm not saying what, so we'll just let it be a surprise. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Until the next time...ENJOY!

Party Favorz is back with Back 2 the 80's, a monster mix of commercial dance classics from the era. After releasing the Trash Disco series last year, I knew I had to move a decade up as the genre that defined "dance" and "disco" has substantially changed with the introduction of the drum machine and synthesizers. You'll notice the snare drum is prominent in many of the songs as it was used for timing and transition throughout most of the songs. It's easy to pick up on as this was a mainstay of the dance genre of the era.
Even though these took over a week to put together, the actual process was fairly easy. The very DJ friendly (unauthorized) remixes by DJ services like Ultimix, Razormaid, and Hot Tracks (among the most popular) were designed for easier transitions between songs in a live setting. I won't bore ya'll with how a lot of this was achieved but it was not unlike what I was doing with two Nakamichi tape decks at the time.
The only song that was poorly structured and frankly a hot mess was "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin. It starts off easy enough but quickly loses its timing by 1/8 beat throwing off the entire mix. Because it was unusually long for a mix during this period, it required a great deal of editing which I had to do manually to get it to work. The end result was flawless and well-worth the effort.
Back 2 the 80's is a two-part set with the second one dropping tomorrow. After the massive success of the of my previous 80's efforts (Pure Energy, Pump Up the Volume, and Hit That Perfect Beat) I'm guessing these will satisfy your Reagan-era dance lust.
Donate and keep the party going!

Nice People Dancing To Good Techno Music

Welcome to another installment of Peak Hour, where we have a hot playlist of Techno and Tech House tunes that will keep you grooving all night long. This set is packed with gems, whether you're into the pulsating beats of Techno or the deeper grooves of Tech House. So let's dive right into some standout tracks.
First up, Helmut & Roy's "He Chilled Out" is a true Techno marvel, artfully blending hypnotic rhythms with atmospheric synth layers. It's a song that evokes the origins of Techno while seamlessly incorporating modern elements, making it a must-listen for any Techno aficionado.
On the Tech House front, we've got Chris Hartwig’s “The Nice Guy.” This track doesn't just serve up a catchy beat; it takes you on a sonic journey. The fluctuating tempos and captivating bass lines are signature Tech House elements, making this track a dance floor favorite.
Speaking of Tech House, don't miss out on Detlef and Dajae's “Deep Dip.” This is Tech House with soul, featuring Dajae's emotive vocals over a backdrop of intricate beats and complex instrumentation. It's one of those songs that captures the essence of the genre while taking it to new heights.
Now, let’s switch gears a bit with Fatboy Slim's classic, “Right Here, Right Now,” reimagined by Camelphat. Camelphat's Remix blends elements of both Techno and Tech House, creating a riveting auditory experience. It’s a respectful nod to the original while bringing something entirely new to the table.
Before we wrap up, I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has sent their condolences over the recent passing of my father. The loss has been several years in the making, but it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier. My dad was a unique blend of gruffness and warmth—grumpy in his later years but undeniably caring throughout his life. I'll forever cherish memories like him getting up in the middle of the night to soothe my childhood earaches. Your comforting words during this time mean more than I can express, so thank you.
Until the next time... ENJOY!

Spring Break 2018 | Top Dance Club Hits March
Saturday Mar 24, 2018
Saturday Mar 24, 2018
I'm dropping the Spring Break 2018 set a week early due to familial issues back in Texas, which I'll get to in just a moment. This set is compiled of the current top dance club hits or those that will soon be. As usual, Party Favorz is way ahead of the curb in the latest dance hits before they come onto your radar.
I've caught on to a trend that's been consistent for a long while now. The Circuit Tribal House and EDM Dance Club set I put out generates a lot of heat on its initial release. This is from what I call the early adopters. Three months later, these very same sets explode even more as folks become more familiar with the songs. A good example is the Holiday Edition 2017 had been riding high for the past couple of weeks. That was released in December. I wade through hundreds of submissions from labels, DJs, and charts for each compilation every month. I then research and compile the tracks I think will click with users. I throw in a few things I know won't but I'm digging as the DJ's pick. I'm not always right but overall I have a pretty damn good track record [pat on the back]. Don't be surprised to see this set ride up the "Popular" list and then quickly drop down and then reemerge in June again at the top. It happens all the time.
Since I'm going to be out of the loop for a while, I want to send out a friendly reminder that I'm trying to raise $183 for the website hosting that renews on April 12th. Currently, we are now at $96.00 with only $86 more to go. The way I see it is that the average number of downloads per episode over the past 12 months is approximately 1,000 users. Some are more than others but that's the average. If just a quarter of you donated $1.00 towards my efforts for providing you with downtime pleasure I could easily make this up without the hassle of begging. I would clear about .80 cents after PayPal gets their cut. I know we can do this. Once again, I'd to thank Ludovic D. (who has been more than generous this year) and Ignacio G. for their contributions. Please consider donating here.
In other news, my father is currently in in-house hospice care. He's not expected to make it through the weekend. My mother has already made arrangements to move from Houston to the Dallas suburbs to be closer to my sister at the end of April. There will be two services for my father and I'm hoping to attend the second in Dallas so I can see my nephews and niece at that time. My mother wants to have his ashes sent from Houston to Dallas so they can bury him there. My father is my best friend and I've already missed our Sunday conversations as he spews his FOX news talking points and I counter with my liberal positions. This is a hard one for me, and I'm unsure how to handle it. Sometimes, I just dig into my work to provide a distraction.
I've already compiled the tracks for the next Underground House set and may just work on it shortly to have it ready as a stop-gap later in April. I just know I have to walk away for a while but I will be back so don't freak out.
A lot is going on this weekend with the March for Our Lives in DC headed by some very aggressively smart kids. If you live in the area, please get out and support them if you can. It's time to take back our country. This is going to be followed up by a "60 Minutes" interview with Stormy Daniels on Sunday. I won't go into the lurid details as this has been all over the news recently unless you watch FOX, in which case they don't report the news only propaganda to satisfy those who choose live in their non-reality-based bubble.
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and enjoys their Spring Break whether it's this weekend or next. Living close to South Padre Island, I always had a great time during Spring Break, though I won't go into my escapades as I was a wild child unleashed. The stories I could tell. I'll be back soon enough. Until then...ENJOY!
