Feel the Heat With the Latest Funky House Jam!
Saturday May 04, 2024
Saturday May 04, 2024
It already feels like summer here in Georgia, and our latest Funky House release, Funky House Heat, brings the heat right to you. This episode packs a serious punch, overflowing with modern-day House bangers alongside classic Disco House that sets the mood perfectly.
Funky Classics with a Modern Twist
We kick things off with a fresh take on a 90s House favorite: Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy" gets a vibrant update by Michael Gray in his "Good Vibe" remix. It keeps the original spirit alive while feeling fresh for the 21st century. Next up, Mark Lower and Alexandra Prince reimagine Sade's soothing "Paradise" with a Nu Disco beat and Prince's smooth vocals, creating a perfect summer invitation.
Dance Floor Dominators
Get ready to move! The set explodes with modern House anthems guaranteed to light up any dance floor. We're especially loving LF System's uplifting "Lift You Up," a positive anthem that reminds us to focus on the good, even amidst challenges. OFFIAH's "Hands" carries the same sentiment, with a roof-raising energy that beckons everyone to join the party.
A Touch of Sexy
Of course, Funky House Heat wouldn't be complete without some seductive vibes. The Shapeshifters deliver with "Body Music," featuring a familiar sample from the timeless House classic "Body To Body (Keep In Touch)" by Shades of Love. It's a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
Peak Hour Dance Floor Sweat
Ready to lose yourself in the heat? This episode features several peak-hour heavy-hitters. DJ Minx's "Don't Do It To Me," Earth n Days' and "The Kinda Love" (CASSIMM remix) are floor-scorchers. "NRG" by Many Few, which holds true to its namesake featuring what sounds like a sample of Loleatta Holloway but don't hold us to that — is pure FIRE!
Disco Heat
Funky House Heat doesn't forget its Disco roots. Dr Packer and Purple Disco Machine, two legendary names, bring the heat, while Sofi Tukker's "One On One" (a personal favorite) gets a remix treatment from the 70s Disco master, Cerrone.
Throwbacks with a Message
We love a good throwback, and this episode features two gems. Kyle Watson's modern take on the Funk classic "Low Rider" by War is a surprising hit, paying homage to Chicano culture while keeping dance floors moving. Brothas & Sistas' "Without Love" is a Funky House reimagining of the Doobie Brothers' "Long Train Running," transformed into a powerful call for unity in these divided times.
Finally
May will be packed with exciting releases at Party Favorz, so stay tuned across all our channels!
One quick note to let y'all know that Party Favorz has monthly obligations to keep our podcast up and running and so far, we're are unable to meet those commitments with our current donations and are putting everything on credit card, which is becoming untenable. We are certainly grateful for those of you who have contributed, but small monthly donations are vital to our current mission. Please consider becoming a patron today.
Until next time...ENJOY!

Club Fusion - April 2024: Hottest Dance Tracks to Light Up Your Playlist
Saturday Apr 27, 2024
Saturday Apr 27, 2024
Get ready to heat up the dance floor with Party Favorz's sizzling new Club Fusion mix! This set is bursting with the hottest dance club tracks guaranteed to keep you moving all night long. We scour the internet to find the bangers that are taking clubs and festivals by storm, so you don't have to.
Fresh Takes on Classics
We kick things off with a modern twist on the early-millennium Progressive House classic "Touch Me" by Rui Da Silva and Cassandra, which the original was just featured on our BackSpin 2024 Volume 1 set. Switch Disco blends this iconic track with Drake's "Massive" for a mashup that's sure to get the crowd jumping. This trend of refreshing old favorites is strong, but trust us, nothing beats Cassandra's original vocals that add a touch of sultry urgency.
Another standout mashup comes from DJs From Mars, who combine Ariana Grande's "We Can't Be Friends" with the Temper Trap classic "Sweet Disposition" This fusion perfectly complements the original Axwell remix, transforming it into a powerful big room anthem without losing its emotional core.
New Releases with Anthem Potential
Up next is Becky Hill's emotional powerhouse ballad "Outside Love" from her upcoming album "Never Be Alone" (dropping May 31st). The song delivers a deep and relatable message about heartbreak, further amplified by Hill's soulful vocals. While there are remixes available, Party Favorz recommends the extended original for its ability to evoke a powerful connection with the audience. We also have a killer rave remix in store for our next release – this song is that good!
Rising Stars and Summer Smash Hits
Ella Henderson and Rudimental join forces for "Alibi," a track that samples the iconic 90s hit "Gangsta Paradise" by Coolio. Joel Corry takes the remix helm, transforming the song into a hard-hitting 145 BPM dance floor anthem. Newcomer Artemas also makes a splash with the catchy "I Like the Way You Kiss Me." Despite some online rumors (we won't get into the details!), the song itself is undeniably catchy, especially with Oliver Helden's electrifying rave remix. This one's bound to be a summer smash.
Keeping the party vibes flowing, we have a refreshed version of the 2002 classic "All the Things She Said" by t.A.T.u. Robin Schulz, Timmy Trumpet & KOPPY take this beloved song and turn it into a proper rave banger, seamlessly blending in with the previous tracks.
Hidden Gems and Unexpected Remixes
Don't miss the Martin Horger remix of Purple Disco Machine & ÁSDÍS's "Beat of My Heart." This remix injects a pulsating synth line, drawing inspiration from the Lil Louis House classic "French Kiss." It's a roof-raising dance floor surprise that you won't want to miss!
David Guetta and OneRepublic team up for the chart-topping "I Don't Wanna Wait," another guaranteed dance floor earworm from OneRepublic.
Party Favorz Favorites
Our set ends with two contrasting tracks that we absolutely love. First, we have the rising pop star Chappell Roan, often compared to Cyndi Lauper for her vibrant style. We're featuring a high-energy, 80s-inspired Big Room remix of her song "Super Graphic Ultra Model Girl" by Stephen Jusko and DJ Blacklow. This remix perfectly showcases Roan's playful personality and catchy lyrics. We can't get enough of it, and we highly recommend checking out her music!
On the other end of the spectrum is "Seek Love (On the Beach)" by Amanda Wilson. Originally released in the mid-2000s, the song gained international recognition after being mashed with Avicii's "Bromance." Now, Alok, Tazi, and Samuele Sartini have breathed new life into this classic, and it's already amassed over a million streams on Spotify. This is another strong contender for song of the summer – don't miss out!

Progress House Classics & Other Millennial Favorites: BackSpin Volume 1
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
Saturday Apr 13, 2024
Have you been scrolling through TikTok lately, searching for the next big thing in club music? You might be encountering a surge of tracks labeled "Afro House." But hold on a minute – isn't that what Progressive House used to be called?
This trend of rebranding classic genres isn't new. Remember when Deep House morphed into commercial House, then Future House? Great music deserves recognition on its own merits, not through constant relabeling.
Speaking of great music, the recent TikTok wave has unearthed some fantastic reworked Progressive House classics. Think genre pioneers like John Creamer & Stephane K, Deep Dish, Scumfrog, and artists who masterfully used heavy percussion – Chus & Ceballos, Oscar G & Ralph Falcon, Friburn & Urik, Peter Rauhofer, and many more. Tracks like Rui Da Silva's timeless "Touch Me" are getting a fresh spin for modern dance floors, and the results are phenomenal!
Back to the Future: Revisiting Millennial Dance Music
The cyclical nature of dance music trends is undeniable. Right now, the spotlight's on late-90s and early 2000s classics, with artists sampling or revamping entire tracks. It's a trend we wholeheartedly support, and you can expect to hear these gems showcased in future Club Fusion and Peak Hour sets.
This trend sparked a trip down memory lane for us here at Party Favorz. Remember our BackSpin series from way back in our early years? Last year, we aimed to revisit the glory days of 2000s dance music, following up on our popular Ultimate 90s House Classics series.
We started with a Millennial Dance Classics series, but the sheer diversity of the decade made it tough to curate a cohesive set. After all, massive hits often land in our Top Dance Songs of the Year anyway.
So, we decided to resurrect the BackSpin series! This allows us to delve deeper into specific genres that defined the 2000s dance music scene. Each BackSpin release will focus on a distinct genre, with a sprinkle of Trance and Electronica thrown in for good measure. These sets will typically span a five-year period, featuring a mix of crowd-pleasing favorites and some hidden gems ripe for rediscovery – think "It's Love (Trippin')" by Goldtrix and Andrea Brown or "Addicted To Bass" by Puretone featured in volume 1.
For those seeking classic remixes by the likes of Thunderpuss, Hex Hector, and Victor Calderone, fear not! We've already covered those in our Classic Circuit Anthems series from 2014.
The BackSpin Reboot: A Journey Through Millennial Dance Music Genres
The rebooted BackSpin series will explore the vast and vibrant landscape of Millennial dance music, beyond the big remixes. We plan to drop at least one set every month, taking you on a nostalgic trip or introducing you to forgotten gems. Most importantly, these tracks will prove that they can still rock any dance floor today.
So, sit back, relax, and get ready to reminisce or discover for the first time the electrifying world of early 2000s Progressive House! Until next time...ENJOY!

Spring Surge: Tech House & Techno's Electrifying Current
Sunday Mar 17, 2024
Sunday Mar 17, 2024
Party Favorz is back with the latest Peak Hour set, jam-packed with the freshest Tech House and Techno tracks heating up the scene. We've thrown in some Breaks and Trance too, keeping things lively.
Our new mix "Vibrate" was knocked out in one sitting. We kept it tight so you won’t get bored; the tracks flow smoothly but with surprises to keep the energy high.
In other news, we've moved back to our old hosting spot, aiming to settle down. The cost of running our show has been crazy, with some service bills hitting the roof. Not all these services are worth their price, so we're cutting down where we can, but it's still a pricey affair.
We hit a snag with our recent move, causing a 24-hour downtime and some missing files. I'm on it, fixing things even on a Sunday. If you're following specific categories on different platforms, hang tight; it might take a month to get everything sorted before they reappear.
We're also shaking things up with our donation system, switching to a new provider. More details are coming soon. For now, the donation page is ready (albeit a little sluggish), and if you can chip in, it would really help us cover our costs.
I want to apologize for dropping another set on a Sunday (Monday in some parts of the world). I’ve been juggling personal stuff with updating the website while trying to crank out new episodes, which has thrown off our schedule. We’re doing our best to get back on track and make it up to you in the next few months.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Get ready for our annual Spring Edition for 2024, specially for our circuit boy fans. Depending on the final tracklist, that set could evolve into two volumes and it appears there will be a second volume of Spring Break 2024. So we've got a lot heading your way in a short amount of time.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

The Ultimate Spring Break Dance Party Mix 2024!
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
Sunday Mar 03, 2024
Party Favorz is back with our annual Ultimate Spring Break Dance Party Mix for 2024, and this set is unstoppable! Our latest Club Fusion entry spans a wide range of music, catching up on what we missed in January and February and previewing what's to come on dance floors in the next few weeks. There's plenty to talk about so let's dive in!
John Summit returns with "Shiver," the follow-up to his massive 2023 hit "Where Are You Now," featuring another outstanding vocal performance by Hayla. While this track is a solid floor-filler, it may lean a bit too closely to the magic of its predecessor. However, that won't deter anyone from enjoying its deep atmosphere and haunting vocals. Summit also offers an exceptional update to Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition," a song that never tires in its various versions. In fact, "Sweet Disposition" is on track to rival Underworld's "Born Slippy" as a DJ favorite for revitalization. Summit's take maintains the original's integrity while adding his unique flair to the track. Both releases are essential for any DJ set.
Among the tracks we're excited about is Becky Hill's latest single, "Never Be Alone," from her forthcoming album. The D.O.D remix cleverly incorporates the bass synth riff from Armand Van Helden's 90s remix of "Spin Spin Sugar" by Sneaker Pimps, elevating an already stellar track on the dance floor. Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa also contribute new offerings. Ariana's "Yes, and?" has been stuck in our heads like glue, echoing Madonna's iconic "Vogue" and inspiring numerous mashups. Felix Jahen's version stays true to the original while giving it a contemporary lift. We eagerly anticipate Grande's next album.
Dua Lipa's third album seems to explore similar themes as her groundbreaking "Future Nostalgia." Personally, I would have chosen "Training Season" over "Houdini" as the lead single (excluding "Dance the Night Away" from the "Barbie" soundtrack). The songs don't fall flat, but they lack the captivating edge of her previous work. Nevertheless, the remixes manage to elevate them for the dance floor, keeping Lipa relevant in the house music scene.
It's time to spotlight emerging DJs you should be following, starting with AVALAN ROKSTON. Currently in Beatport's Top 10 with their remake of Moby's "Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?" they've also released "Faith," a song teased on TikTok for over a month that truly lives up to the hype. The emotional depth of "Faith" is undeniable, especially when the euphoria hits. Their remix of London Grammar's "Strong" from 2023, though new to us, is so impressive it deserves recognition among the top dance songs of last year and has been included here despite its original release date. It's that good.
After his successful remix of Jain's "Makeba," Ian Asher continues to produce impressive bootlegs and remixes, signaling his readiness for the big leagues. His collaboration with Oliver Helden and Sergio Mendes on "Mas Que Nada" is a vibrant summer Latin-flavored tune showcases his distinctive touch. Asher is definitely one to watch.
Despite its poor box office performance, the movie "Saltburn" found success after it was released to streaming on Prime Video. We immediately picked up on the songs included in the movie and frankly, were surprised by their inclusion. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Murder on the Dancefloor" was from her debut album after the massive success of DJ Spiller's "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love" from back in the day. The song was not a widespread hit but it's nice to finally get the recognition it deserves as the whole Disco House genre has exploded in recent years. The other song is "Perfecct (Exceeder)" by Mason vs. Princess Superstar, which was a big Electro House hit in the mid-millennium. There's a whole story behind that song that you can look up by following Princess Superstar's TikTok account if you're interested.
Other highlights include the Telykast remix of Calvin Harris and Rihanna's "This Is What You Came For," the Rakurs & Ewellick remix of "Let Me Think About It" by Freddy Le Grand and Ida Corr, the Rivo remix of "You and Me" by Disclosure and Eliza Doolittle, the Marco Generani remix of "Spectrum (Say My Name)" by Florence + The Machine, and the surprising 140 Remix of Beyoncé's "Texas Hold 'Em," which offers a fresh country remix for the dance floor.

Any song in this set not discussed here has nothing to do with their worthiness rather the limited space we have to showcase our exhuberance in talking about these songs. Rest assured, if they made the cut, they're all equally excellent.
Finally, the Ultimate Spring Break Dance Party Mix for 2024 delivers a diverse and vibrant selection of genres, from Future House to Trance to Disco House, ensuring a fresh and engaging experience. Let the P-A-R-T-Y begin!

Until the next time...ENJOY!

YoYo Dissco — The Latest Funky Disco House Music and Updates!
Sunday Feb 25, 2024
Sunday Feb 25, 2024
After a very long wait, Party Favorz is finally back in business with a brand-spanking new booty-slapping Funky Disco House episode to properly kick off our grand reopening.
"YoYo Dissco" features all the latest Funky House, Disco House, and House Music songs that have been buzzing in our ears for the past couple of months. If you're a fan of this series (and it seems a lot of you are, judging by the numbers over the past year), everything will sound familiar with a fresh sense of newness throughout the mix.
This set kicks off with some Gospel Disco by the always fabulous Barbara Tucker, who we haven't heard from in a while and delivers a hopeful track for these trying times. From there, you'll journey through the dance floor with an endless array of roof-raisers, funky throwbacks, and mashups of perennial favorites, creating entirely new songs.
Navigating Through Time: A Reflection on Party Favorz's Journey and Musical Milestones
Party Favorz is now in its 17th year, and it's remarkable to think we've been around for four presidencies, witnessing massive changes in technology and entertainment consumption. We were leading the charge in this arena before podcasts became ubiquitous, and while many have fallen by the wayside, we're still here delivering the dancefloor directly to you.
Towards the end of this mix, you'll notice a song called "The Cure & The Cause" by Fish Go Deep and Tracey K. Idris Elba took the song in a very 90s straight House Music direction. At the time of its original release, it was all about the DJ Meme remix, which added live strings in the vein of the Solsoul Records era. It was a massive hit back in 2007, the same year Party Favorz was born on the internet. It's interesting to note that it was also released during a presidential year, similar to the current time. While nothing will ever top the DJ Meme remix, this new rendition brought back a lot of fond memories from our early days. You can find the DJ Meme remix on our Funky House Edition 2007 v6 and on Volume 1 of our DJ Meme tribute mix.
Technical Updates and Enhancements: Improving Your Listening Experience
I've been struggling to get the categories to work on the streaming feeds for several days, but then it came to me in a dream last night. That's been the delay in getting the new design out, and I haven't fully tested it yet, but hopefully, it will work out. If not, I'm waiting on a quote from a developer to assist, along with fixing the link in the site's header. No need to inform me; I'm aware of it and will get it fixed as soon as possible.
Feel free to reach out if you find any other errors, such as wrong artwork, incorrect episodes in a player, or partial episode uploads. I'm not sure what happened with the last one, but I did find a few issues.
Additionally, I've upgraded the software I use to level all music to prevent unexpected volume spikes, but this was a significant upgrade. It now offers different presets, and I chose the "boost" preset for this mix. It required me to change my mixing style, which I mastered on the fly with this set (everything was done in one take). I'm not used to seeing something so heavily compressed, but it sounded fine to me in different environments. Let me know if you prefer it the way it was, and I'll take note for future sets.
I'll be in Atlanta all day tomorrow but will be back working on our next Club Fusion episode, which I'm expecting to be a total BANGER!
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Taylor Swift Dance Tribute: A Remix Journey Into Clubland Volume I
Thursday Feb 01, 2024
Thursday Feb 01, 2024
It's been a hot minute since the original induction of Taylor Swift into the Diva Hall of Fame, and oh, how the tables have turned since then. 2023 has been an exceptional year for powerhouse women in the music industry, with names like Miley Cyrus (who's due for an update) and Beyonce making waves. Yet, towering above them all is the unparalleled Taylor Swift.
This year, she embarked on her monumental "Eras Tour," spanning an ambitious 151 dates across five continents. The tour, already etching records as the highest-grossing by a woman and second overall, is a testament to Swift's colossal impact and unwavering appeal.
But wait, there's more. Swift didn't just stop at live performances. Her concert film broke records, dominating theaters worldwide and showcasing her transition from a country music prodigy to a pop culture icon. This strategic re-recording of her first six albums, originally recorded at a smaller label, wasn't just a gamble—it was a power move to regain control of the royalties for her music after it was sold to a private equity firm from underneath her. Each album's rerelease shot to #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, sidelining fresh releases from other artists.
In her "Eras Tour," Swift ingeniously packaged 44 songs from her discography into a 3.5-hour extravaganza. This visual and auditory spectacle, divided into 10 acts, each representing an album era, garnered critical acclaim and fan adoration, solidifying her status as a true music industry maverick.
Here at Party Favorz, we celebrate such groundbreaking artists, especially when their journey intersects with dance music. With the flurry of new remixes emerging from "Taylor's Version" albums, we found it imperative to revisit our original tribute and elevate it with a fresh, deluxe edition.
Reworking the original volumes was no simple task. We dove back into the essence of Taylor's music, remixing both volumes from scratch while respecting the template of the original releases. New versions and new songs now infuse these collections, ensuring a unique and exhilarating experience for Swift's fans.
A special shoutout to Dirty Disco is in order for their invaluable contribution to the first volume of this deluxe edition. Their remixes, particularly the "Blank Space" exclusive, are a nod to Taylor's diverse fanbase, particularly the LGBTQ+ community, who find a special connection with her music.
Celebrating Taylor Swift in our Diva Hall of Fame with 'Club Taylor Volume 1' is more than an honor—it's a recognition of her immense contribution to dance music. With over 200 million records sold, Taylor Swift isn't just a figure in a male-dominated industry; she's a trailblazer who has touched the hearts of multiple generations.
Sharing the spotlight with icons like Beyoncé and Madonna, Taylor's journey from Nashville to global stardom is nothing short of inspiring. Her adeptness in navigating the music industry's evolution, from CDs to streaming, and her consistent chart domination are a testament to her enduring popularity and artistic brilliance.
Taylor Swift's connection with the LGBTQ+ community is profound. Her music, encapsulating themes of loss, love, and heartbreak, resonates deeply, celebrating the power and resilience of women.
The induction of Taylor Swift into our Diva Hall of Fame is a two-volume affair. Volume I spotlights her mesmerizing remixes tailored for her LGBTQ+ fans. Tracks like "Wildest Dreams (Dirty Disco Mainroom Remix)" and "Shake It Off (Barry Harris Extended Tribal House Remix)" showcase how Taylor's music effortlessly transitions into anthems for the dance floor.
This deluxe edition of Volume 1 also features extraordinary remixes like "Out Of The Woods (Toy Armada & DJ Grind Anthem Mix)" and "Anti-Hero (Dirty Disco Mainroom Remix)." These tracks exemplify the seamless integration of Taylor's music into House Music, transforming them into Circuit and Tea Dance floor staples.

The Ultimate New Year Dance Party Mix: Blow Your Own Horn 2024
Saturday Dec 30, 2023
Saturday Dec 30, 2023
Just in the nick of time, Party Favorz pulls out all the stops to deliver our annual Blow Your Own Horn series, the ultimate New Year's dance party mix to usher you into 2024.
This series began in late 2013 when I found myself with some extra time and the desire to create one last epic party throwdown to welcome the new year. Since then, BYOH has become a staple in our collection, a series that our fans rely on us to deliver year after year.
Honestly, I've been going non-stop since late October, creating one set after another to keep everyone entertained and, perhaps, a bit distracted from everyday life. I wasn't sure I had another mix in me, but I sat down yesterday and, to my surprise, produced this final set in record time. It's accompanied by a quickly assembled cover art that, while not my finest work, certainly serves its purpose. This set is as raw as they come, which, in my opinion, is part of its charm. It’s a high-octane ride with few breaks, boasting a garage feel that epitomizes this style of mix – imperfections and all. I haven’t previewed it myself, so you’re getting the first listen.
Most tracks in this set are alternate versions of popular songs from the year, many of which haven't appeared in any of our other sets. There are also some familiar originals that seamlessly fit the fast pace, along with a few notable late-year releases. Highlights include "I'm So Excited" by Sound Of Legend, a fresh take on the early '80s Pointer Sisters hit, "Hey DJ" by Joel Corry, reminiscent of early millennium tracks like Ian Van Dahl's "Castles In the Sky", a new version of Eddie Murphy's late '80s hit "Party All the Time," redone by Hannah Laing & HVRR, and "Make Me Happy" by Patrick Topping, a welcome return from an artist we haven't heard from in a while.
I won’t be making any tweaks to this final set, so feel free to dive in and download it.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported Party Favorz, especially after our slow start this year. I won't stoop to the level of a certain individual who disrupted our operations out of jealousy and unprofessionalism by naming names but there's a special place in hell for this asshole. Your support has been invaluable, particularly as our operating costs have tripled. You mean everything to us and we couldn't have done it without your continued support.
Here’s wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year. Stay positive, and 2024 will be your year. I’ll be taking off most of January not to rest, but to revamp our website with something fresh and exciting. Our current theme is showing its age whose team seemingly took over its development without much support, it’s time for a change – one that I promise you’ll love (assuming everything goes as planned).
Until next year...ENJOY!

Welcome back to Volume 2 of the Party Favorz Top Dance Songs of 2023, showcasing this year's most significant dance hits!
A prominent trend in today’s music consumption is streaming, a phenomenon that gained even more importance during the pandemic, impacting the dance music industry significantly. While festivals still thrive with their EDM-centric, visually spectacular shows, club venues have suffered, leading to the closure of the Billboard Dance Club chart due to reduced DJ feedback from large venues.
Even in major cities, where nightlife is concentrated, this shift has resulted in a decrease in the volume of new dance music releases. At Party Favorz, we've felt this reduction since last year. With less music comes fewer standout hits, and many of today’s hits often sample popular tracks from 10 to 20 years ago, repurposing these melodies into new creations.
However, the silver lining in fewer releases is that it allows gems like "Water" by Tyla, "Body Moving" by Eliza Rose and Calvin Harris, and Peggy Gou’s hit "(It Goes Like) Nanana" to shine, reaching a broader audience. In a different era, these tracks might have been overshadowed by a flood of new music.
Exploring other dance music genres, artists have reinvigorated styles like Drum 'n' Bass. While not our personal favorite, especially in a full DJ set, it has its place. Becky Hill's "Disconnect" is so Punk Rock that the D'n'B production by Chase & Status was a natural fit for the song. Issey Cross’s "Bittersweet Goodbye" is another significant Drum 'n' Bass track, infusing the genre's energy with orchestral elements borrowed from the Verge alternative classic "Bittersweet Symphony," which got them in hot water for borrowing the string section from the Rolling Stones "The Last Time." Despite its potential, this genre can be challenging for DJs without advanced equipment to blend with contemporary dance music. Still, Drum 'n' Bass is seeing a small rebirth when we were hoping for a Breaks resurgence in mainstream dance which has shown a lot of promise lately. We'll have to wait and see what 2024 brings.
Latin House has also seen a rise in popularity. Jain’s "Makeba" classic emerged as a major hit this year with the Ian Aisher remix and reminiscent of the "Macarena" with its catchy refrain. We selected Axel Paerel’s version for this set, focusing on the instrumental part that really gets people moving. This approach is similar to the initial instrumental version of "Macarena," which later had lyrics added for broader appeal.
Other Latin-influenced hits include "Marianela" by Merk & Kremont x Hugel vs. Lirico En La Casa and "Let's Go" by will.i.am and J Balvin. With the global reach of Latin artists, we anticipate more crossover hits in the coming year.
Overall, Party Favorz is excited about the diversity in this year’s dance scene. Moving beyond standard big room EDM and Future House, artists are incorporating a wider array of sounds, enriching the club experience. This variety ensures the dance music scene remains vibrant and engaging.
While our compilation of the top dance songs of 2023 may not align with everyone's taste, we believe it fairly represents this year's dance music landscape. Some may prefer a more underground, niche list, but the beauty of on-demand music is that there's something for everyone.
We’re also preparing our annual "Blow Your Own Horn" series, the ultimate year-end dance party mix. We’re also working on releasing it on time for our friends in the southern and eastern hemispheres but won't make any guarantees. Until the next time...ENJOY!

Saturday Dec 23, 2023
As the year winds down, Party Favorz is thrilled to unveil our colossal, two-volume collection encapsulating the top dance songs of 2023 and the year's biggest dance hits. This ambitious endeavor involved a deep dive into our 2023 Club Fusion and Peak Hour releases to compile the most impactful dance anthems that left their mark on the dance floor and resonated as unforgettable earworms.
Our selection process focused on streaming numbers from platforms like YouTube and Spotify, complemented by our own personal bias. We've bypassed conventional charts like Billboard, seeking out the true gems that define the year's dance music zeitgeist, far from the repetitive playlists of mainstream charts.
Celebrating Variety: The Standout Dance Anthems of 2023
The landscape of 2023's dance music was marked by an exhilarating variety. While many tracks echo the timeless allure of House Music, this year's biggest dance hits have ingeniously woven elements from classic dance anthems into fresh, vibrant creations. This blend of homage and innovation has injected a rich diversity into today's dance music scene, moving beyond monolithic trends.
2023's Dance Music Evolution: From House Roots to 'Jump House' Innovation
One standout trend we've christened at Party Favorz is "Jump House," a thrilling evolution in dance music tempo, breaking the 130 BPM ceiling and soaring towards 145 BPM (and sometimes higher). Volume 1 of our Top Dance Songs of 2023 features these high-energy tracks, including hits like cassö, Raye & D-Block Europe's massive "Prada" (142 BPM), a Techno reworking of the Rihanna classic "Disturbia" (141 BPM), Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding's "Miracle" (143 BPM), "Desire" by Calvin Harris & Sam Smith (140 BPM), "When We Were Young (The Logical Song)" by David Guetta & Kim Petras (140 BPM), and many others. These tracks blend pulsating beats with a nod to early millennium Trance, Techno, and House reminiscent of the Hard Dance era of the 2000s.
Yet, this surge in BPM doesn't overshadow the enduring appeal of Future House and classic House Music. Tracks like John Summit & Hayla's "Where You Are" and Peggy Gou's "(It Goes Like) Nanana" have dominated the scene, proving that the heart of dance music still beats strong in its foundational genres.
At Party Favorz, we've long championed diversity in dance music, advocating against a homogenized sound. Thankfully, 2023 has been a year of rich musical diversity, breaking away from the generic soundscapes that often dominate mainstream platforms.
Exploring New Horizons: SoundCloud's Rise in the Dance Music Scene
We're going to go out on the limb here and say that SoundCloud really is your best friend (even more than Spotify). They have really gotten their act together and are promoting cutting edge EDM in a variety of styles bound to suite a variety of tastes that aren't getting the attention the major streamers are offering much less pushing in your playlist. If you want a place to spend your hard earned $9.99 a month, that would be the place to do it. Then come back to Party Favorz to fill in the rest because nobody can touch the variety we offer.
Stay tuned for next week's release of volume two of the Top Dance Songs of 2023, setting the stage for our grand year-end event, "Blow Your Own Horn."
Until the next time...ENJOY!
The original extended version of "React" by Switch Disco, Robert Miles & Ella Henderson has been switched in favor of the D.O.D. extended remix. Additionally, there have been numerous transition fixes between songs for overall better flow. Please re-download the latest version.

Celebrate the Holidays with the Biggest Circuit Anthems of the Season!: UPDATED
Wednesday Dec 13, 2023
Wednesday Dec 13, 2023
Party Favorz is hitting you up with a special mid-week treat – our 2023 Holiday Edition series, packed with this season's most electrifying circuit anthems. It's that time of the year when the beats get bolder and the nights longer, perfect for some serious dance floor action.
This year's mix is a rollercoaster of emotions and energy, starting with a mind-blowing mashup of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" and Beyoncé's "Summer Renaissance." It's a track that's more than just a song – it's a celebration, a nod to the legends who've shaped our world.
Diva classics are getting a fresh circuit anthem makeover too. We're talking about Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy" and Tove Lo's "Habits," reimagined in a way that only true circuit anthems can. And Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" is hitting the circuit anthem scene with a new energy that's both nostalgic and exhilarating.
But wait, there's more – we're talking about diva collaborations that are nothing short of legendary. Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus on "Wrecking Ball"? Yes, please! And Dolly Party and Beth Sacks giving us their unique spin on the mashup of 4 Non Blondes classic "What's Up" – it's like rediscovering these songs for the first time.
Cher, the queen herself, is gracing our holiday circuit anthems lineup with not one, but two tracks. Her "Angels In the Snow" and "DJ Play a Christmas Song" are getting the circuit anthem treatment by Dirty Disco and Guy Scheiman, and they're bound to be the highlight of your holiday season.
And for the grand finale, we've got a circuit anthem remix of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas" that's so good, it'll make leaving the dance floor the hardest goodbye.
The AI Factor in Music
We can't ignore the significant role AI is playing in the music scene today. It's reached a point where AI-generated voices are singing tracks they might never have touched, including those by artists no longer with us. A prime example in our latest set is the AI rendition of Dua Lipa performing the Wham! and George Michael classic, "Careless Whisper," remixed by Henriq Moraes. The remix is impressive, but it's clear that AI still has a way to go in perfectly capturing an artist's unique vocal style.
This phenomenon is widespread online, with music labels actively removing many of these AI-generated tracks from YouTube. The issue? Rights holders aren't seeing the revenue from these streams. This emerging trend is something artists and their representatives will need to address in future contracts.
The situation brings to mind certain "Black Mirror" episodes – specifically "Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too" and "Joan Is Awful." In these stories, the characters' likenesses and voices are replicated through CGI and AI, keeping their personas active and profitable long after their deaths, and without their consent.
This fictional scenario isn't far from reality, as evidenced by the Screen Actors Guild's (SAG) legal battles with Hollywood studios. SAG aims to prevent the unauthorized use of actors' likenesses, whether they're extras or major stars, without proper compensation. It's a daunting prospect, but it's hard to ignore the potential appeal. Imagine the opportunity to see legends like Prince, Bowie, or Michael Jackson perform once more, even if it's through CGI. The potential for profit is undeniable.
At Party Favorz, we're treading carefully with AI-generated content. For now, Dua Lipa's AI rendition doesn't quite hit the mark in emulating her voice. We'll continue to monitor these developments closely, but for the time being, we're focusing on the authentic beats and rhythms that define our style.
Keep your ears open for our upcoming Top Dance Songs of 2023, and until then, keep living for the beat of the best circuit anthems around. ENJOY!
