David Morales Legacy Volume 3: The Gospel of House Meets Pop Royalty
Sunday Sep 10, 2017
Sunday Sep 10, 2017
David Morales is more than a mere DJ or producer; he's an institution in the world of House Music. With a career spanning decades, he's solidified his status as a trailblazer, particularly in the House genre. And while his influence is wide-ranging, his collaborations with Mariah Carey stand out as groundbreaking. Morales did the unthinkable by convincing the pop diva to re-record her vocals, transforming her chart-toppers into electrifying, gospel-infused anthems. Yes, this man took Mariah Carey's songs and turned them into spiritual journeys that would make any congregation shout, "Amen!"
In the third volume of our tribute to David Morales, we delve into this unique chapter of his storied career. Mariah Carey's "My All" and "Honey," for instance, are no longer just radio hits; they become transcendental experiences under Morales' expert craftsmanship. But the magic doesn't stop there. Remember Toni Braxton's "You're Makin' Me High"? Morales took that sultry tune and gave it a whole new layer of groove and vitality, making it irresistibly dance-floor ready.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJmPsTz9Ocg
Morales' touch has graced other powerhouse vocals as well. Deborah Cox's "Who Do U Love" becomes a pulsating, soul-stirring anthem, thanks to Morales. Even Suzanne Palmer's "Luv 2 Luv" transforms into an instant classic under his watchful eye. And let's not forget his self-featured track "Here I Am" with Tamra Keenan, proving that Morales doesn't need a superstar to make a hit. His collaboration with Kristine W on "One More Try" showcases his versatility and his unmatched ability to turn already compelling vocals into something extraordinary.
This tribute mix is, of course, not merely a retrospective but a dynamic exploration of Morales' evolving influence. While he got his start working alongside house legend Frankie Knuckles, he's continually adapted, shaping not just the genre of House, but also carving out a unique space where pop, gospel, and dance intersect in the most harmonious ways.
So, whether you're a die-hard fan of House or simply a music aficionado, this David Morales tribute mix is a delectable treat. It's more than a collection of songs; it's a curated experience that will have you hitting the 'repeat' button more times than you'd care to admit.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

When you think of David Morales, what springs to mind is an iconic craftsman, a master of stitching beats and emotions into unforgettable dance tracks. After our first foray into his monumental impact on the House Music scene, we're diving deeper into another dimension of his artistic canvas—melding mainstream hits with his signature house style. Welcome to David Morales Legacy Volume 2, a sonic adventure that uncovers his commercial prowess intertwined with Urban and Latin musical undertones.
Imagine cruising down the highway, and CeCe Peniston's "Finally" flows through your car speakers. As the Choice Mix orchestrated by Morales envelops you, the experience elevates from mere listening to a musical epiphany. This is no mere remix; it's a transformation that metamorphoses great songs into iconic anthems that stand the test of time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ve4F967dDg
What's remarkable in this volume is Morales's gift for musical polygamy—marrying diverse genres into unified masterpieces. His work on Lara Fabian's "I Will Love Again" is a testament to this, taking an emotive ballad and sculpting it into a dancefloor magnet without losing its poignant touch.
On the Urban and Latin side, Morales doesn't just step into the genres, he leaves footprints. His remix of Heavy D & The Boyz's "Now That We Found Love" mirrors the late '90s urban vibe, blending infectious beats with soulful vocals. When it comes to Latin flavor, Morales's remixes for Gloria Estefan's hits "Oye Mi Canto (Hear My Voice)" and "Turn the Beat Around" serve as danceable bridges between Latin fire and mainstream appeal.
In the realm of pure pop, Morales's magic touch is evident in his work with the Spice Girls’ "Spice Up Your Life," as well as dance anthems like Enrique Iglesias's "Rhythm Divine" and Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam." Each remix serves as both a throwback and an invitation to new musical experiences, marrying nostalgia with contemporary flair.
The entirety of David Morales Legacy Volume 2 functions as a dynamic history lesson in commercial dance music, all refashioned by one of the genre’s most influential pioneers. Every transition between tracks goes beyond a mere change in tempo—it's a journey through different eras, cultures, and musical sensibilities, all unified under the genius that is David Morales.

David Morales: The Maestro of House Music’s Enduring Legacy Celebrated
Friday Sep 08, 2017
Friday Sep 08, 2017
If you've ever grooved to Whitney Houston's "So Emotional" on a packed dancefloor or lost yourself in Diana Ross's "The Boss" in the 90s, then you've felt the touch of David Morales—the Grammy Award-winning American house music DJ and record producer of Puerto Rican descent. Born in the cultural melting pot that is New York City, Morales is more than just a notable figure listed on Wikipedia. To aficionados and newcomers alike, he's akin to a musical prophet who has shaped the landscape of house music and club culture.
Many revere David Morales as one of the godfathers of house music, sharing this illustrious title with other luminaries like Frankie Knuckles, Shep Pettibone, Todd Terry, Eric Kupper, and Masters At Work Together, they've constructed the very foundations of a genre that has transcended time and geographical boundaries. Simply put, Morales doesn't just participate in this realm; he owns it.
The first time David Morales entered my sonic sphere was back in 1991 with his groundbreaking rework of Shawn Christopher's "Another Sleepless Night." This track alone was enough to convert me into a loyal follower, an experience shared by countless others. It's only fitting that we commence our four-volume tribute series with this transformative song. While this tribute isn't intended to be an exhaustive compilation of his extensive discography, it aims to serve as a vibrant introduction to the indelible moments Morales has contributed to the world of dance music.
Morales's influence is pervasive, touching classics across various artists and genres. His remix of Alison Limerick's "Where Love Lives (Come On In)" takes the track from merely memorable to unforgettable, instilling it with an added layer of club-ready beats and rhythms. Similarly, his collaborative project, "In De Ghetto" with The Bad Yard Club and Crystal Waters, sets a gold standard for what house music can achieve in terms of storytelling and atmosphere.
Another iconic remix is of Basement Jaxx's "Bingo Bango," where Morales's touch turns it into a dancefloor filler of the highest order. His work is not confined to just one genre or one set of voices. With "Needin' U," under the alias The Face and featuring Juliet Roberts, Morales demonstrates his versatile talent in producing dance anthems that defy categorization. His influence even extends to the realm of pop, as exemplified by his remix of the Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way," a rendition that gives the boy band classic a dancefloor-friendly makeover.
At Party Favorz, we believe that honor and respect are best expressed through action. That's why we are thrilled to pay tribute to David Morales—an unparalleled artist whose influence has been nothing short of revolutionary in shaping the house music scene. As you journey through this curated series, you'll not just be listening to music; you'll be experiencing pieces of history that have been redefined by the masterful touch of Morales.

Sia | The Diva Series
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Saturday Aug 26, 2017
Sia has been on my shortlist for a long time as a Diva Hall of Fame inductee. The problem as I always saw it was putting together all of the songs from an extensive career that goes back to the late '90s that were in a variety of genres and BPMs. After all, it wasn't until the middle part of the millennium that critics and folks began to take notice of this brilliant singer/songwriter.
I was introduced to her by an old friend Leann about 9 years ago when her album Some People Have Real Problems dropped. From there, I dug into her past catalog all the while her star began to shine more brightly and people began to take notice.
Since that time, she'd written or collaborated on massive singles like Diamonds by Rihanna, Titanium with David Guetta, and Wild Ones with Flo Rida and has had a string of successful singles in her own right. There is no denying her talent and frankly, Sia is one of Party Favorz all-time favorite DIVAS along with P!nk and Robyn. In short, I adore this woman.
It's for these reasons and more that Sia rightfully takes her place amongst the leading ladies in the Diva Hall of Fame. With much admiration and respect, ladies and gentlemen please welcome the very talented Sia!

Summer Edition 2017 Volume 2
Friday Aug 25, 2017
Friday Aug 25, 2017
Well, we've made it through the very long hot summer and I'm fulfilling my promise to bring you volume 2 of the Summer Edition 2017.
Originally, I thought I wouldn't have enough to fill out this second set but boy was I wrong. In fact, I had way too much. After listening to this at least once, I went back and cut out a lot of fat that didn't need to be included.
Regardless, this is still one helluva monster mix! We've got brand-spanking new music from one of our favorite leading ladies Deborah Cox (Let the World Be Ours Tonight), P!nk (What About Us), two from Kesha (Praying & [Motherf!cking] Woman), Rita Ora (Your Song) and Erasure (Just a Little Love). We even take a dip back to the 90's with the never before mixed alt-rock classic by Smash Mouth (Walking on the Sun), which must have been commissioned because there is a slew of remixes for this song, including the amazing Dave Aude remix featured in Beach Party 2017 v2 posted yesterday.
Joe Gauthreaux and DJ Grind team up with Inaya Day for a hands in the air uplifting remake of the 70's adult-contemporary classic Love Is in the Air; a song that's been reworked many times before. Mike Cruz delivers the goods on DJ Khaled & Rihanna's Wild Thoughts with its tribal samba beats and Santanaesque guitar riff intact. Offer Nissim remixes the new fabulous Lara Fabian track Growing Wings, while Toy Armada and DJ Grind bring us another uplifting hands in the air anthem with a remake of the Ben E. King classic Stand By Me.
In short, this set is packed with delights from start to finish.
I'm supposed to be starting on my pre-courses for Coding Bootcamp but after looking at the syllabus, I think I may be able to knock out one more Diva Series that I've had in the works for a long time. This way, I can totally clear my plate and then just focus on the road ahead. No guarantees, so we'll see.
That's all I got but there's more than enough between this and yesterday's post to keep you folks bumpin', pumpin' and grindin' well into September.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Thursday Aug 24, 2017
Somehow, some way I managed to pull it off. I've two, count them TWO hot off-the-press sets for you folks this week.
Kicking it off, I bring you Beach Party 2017 volume 2 with smoldering EDM/Dance hits that are currently ripping up the charts and dancefloors across the globe.
Beware, we are in that period where everyone is chasing after the same sound, though I did my best to shake it up a little to keep things as fresh as possible. It's just hard to do considering what I had to work with.
Nevertheless, don't let that scare you away because this set rocks! I've got a lot on my plate this week, including a new Circuit Tribal House set for my boys tomorrow.

MADONNA Birthday Celebration 2017 | The Diva Series
Saturday Aug 05, 2017
Saturday Aug 05, 2017
It's time to C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E the birthday of the most enduring ICON of the past 30 years...MADONNA!
As usual, I gather up the best of the best bootlegs of her work that have been re-imagined for today's dance floors.
Each year after posting a new podcast, I set up a Madonna folder where I throw in any new bootleg I come across. Typically, it builds up over that year and I use it as a basis for the next set. Frankly, the mixes are beginning to become a bit thin; especially after the demise of Legitmix but somehow, I still manage, even without new releases from the Material Girl.
There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Party Favorz. After 10 years, it may be time to wind things down. I'm currently wrapping up a website redesign for a client and will start a 3-week trial course for admittance into coding boot camp. If all goes well (and I have no reason to believe that it won't), I'll be up to my eyeballs in learning code for 4 months. I may even start a separate blog about my experience since I'll be coming at it from a different perspective than what's out there now. I haven't decided yet.
For now, I plan to keep the site open. Those that have followed me since day one know that I am apt to throw my hands up in frustration one minute and then mysteriously reappear a year later. Take that for what it is but I learned a long time ago to never say NEVER.
For now, get up off your ass and DANCE. It's MADONNA-TIME BITCHES! ENJOY!!!

Ariana Grande | The Diva Series
Friday Aug 04, 2017
Friday Aug 04, 2017
From Nickelodeon to worldwide superstar, the road to stardom has been pretty much smooth sailing for the pint-sized DIVA, Ariana Grande. Granted, she isn't earning that status because of some ongoing Twitter feud with one of her contemporaries or because she's a femme fatale, or even because she has a reputation for being difficult to work with. Quite the opposite, she's earned it because she's a genuine talent who is vocally gifted, genuinely sincere, and backs it up with her beauty (inwards as well as outwards).
She has racked up three platinum albums, multiple top 10 hits, critical praise for her singing, #2 song of the year for "Into You" and one of the top summer songs of 2014 for "Problem" with Iggy Azalea. Couple this with her acting career; she's become a true powerhouse in just a few short years.
After her amazing turn leading the "One Love Manchester" just several weeks after a bombing at one of her performances there to raise money for the victims, it became readily clear that Ariana Grande has the poise, grace, and maturity often lacking in today's, uh lackluster pop princesses. She garnered a great deal of praise from critics as well as parents whose kids slurp up her music by the bushels. More importantly, she's been a proud supporter of the LGBTQ community making her one of our favorites when it comes to the new crop of DIVAS we love and admire.
Much like her contemporary Selena Gomez, she has a very long and varied career ahead of her. It's for these reasons and more that Party Favorz proudly inducts Ariana Grande into the Diva Hall of Fame. XO

Selena Gomez 2017 | The Diva Series
Thursday Aug 03, 2017
Thursday Aug 03, 2017
Selena Gomez had a small role in excellent movie The Big Short in which she breaks down in plain English how credit default swaps work and how they were being manipulated by financial institutions to their own benefit. I don't know who decided to cast her in this movie for a brief moment, but it was not only believable but put her square on my radar. It was at that point I figured out this junior diva is in the process of diversifying her assets; sure enough, I was right.
From her clothing line to executive producing a couple of series (one for Netflix and the other for Lifetime) and starring roles in several upcoming movies along with the US leg of her Revival tour about to swing into full gear her star has never shown brighter.
Did I forget to mention this other thing she does like sing, records stellar pop songs, and lands a number-one album on Billboard's Hot 100?
The former Disney star has come a long way and is making the smart moves necessary to sustain a long and prominent career. The girl many considered their baby sister that they'll defend and protect is all grown up and is proving to be more than a one-trick pony. Now, if we could just get her to make better boyfriend choices, all will be good in the POP universe. Then again, she's old enough to make her own decisions. After all, the heart wants what it wants.
Welcome, Selena to the Diva Hall of Fame.

Knee-Deep
Saturday Jul 22, 2017
Saturday Jul 22, 2017
I made the decision to go ahead and drop Knee-Deep the latest installment of Underground House. I've finally decided on which coding bootcamp I want to attend as long as I can wrangle up the financing and have it delayed long enough to find a proper paying job.
Because I am likely the only person on the planet that does not own a laptop, I've decided the online courses via Thinkful (which has gotten rave reviews and is financially solvent) are my best option. Though, I prefer being in a classroom setting, what appears to be very legitimate reviews of the boot camp from a variety of sources (blogs, YouTube personal videos, etc.) gave me the guts to finally take the leap.
As such, I need to concentrate on the prep work for a couple of weeks and I still need to finish the website I was contracted to do. That person who paid me to set this up has been MIA for the past week so it's been difficult to get started without the pieces I need to put it together for her. She'll be back in town later today so I want to get this off my plate as well. This includes design, logo, color palette, and listing her as a business in Google for more professional search results. I'll also need to find a solid payment portal for a more professional feel to the site as opposed to a PayPal button but that all depends on her budget and WooCommerce is out of the question.
That being said, I wanted to wrap up the major categories for Party Favorz before going on hiatus. Knee-Deep goes deeper and often times darker than previous efforts though there are flourishes of a summer feel throughout. Pulling from Deep House, Tech House, Minimal, and Progressive House, this set combines all the elements of a laidback lazy summer day and should ignite the passions of those who dig sonic landscapes in their music (much like myself) when they're just chillaxin'.
I may still try to get Madonna's annual set finished for her birthday coming up in August as I already have a good idea and source for fantastic bootleg material. That's a big IF if I can find the time.
For now, just sit back, relax and take in the sounds from the underground. ENJOY!

Beach Party 2017 Volume 1
Friday Jul 21, 2017
Friday Jul 21, 2017
Just in time for your weekend pleasure, I'm dropping the MASSIVE Beach Party mix that's bound to fuel your summer celebrations!
This unabashedly commercial set kicks off with the would-be/should-be summertime hit 'Good Time' by the former lead singer of the Gap Band, Charlie Wilson. While the original is outstanding in its own right, the Moto Blanco remix adds that extra summer feelgood-ishness that makes you want to get up and DANCE! I just wish there was a full version available but I'll take whatever I can get because this song is that good.
The overall tone of this mix jumps from one style to another. It features EDM, House, Trap and Reggaeton; basically all the current flavors of the moment.
I have yet again provided an alternate mix to the song of the summer "Despacito", which has gone on to be the most streamed song like ever. For those of us that grew up during the "Macarena" craze in the 90's, Despacito is the equivalent. I decided it was worth taking that trip down memory lane, so I've also included the awesome remix of Macarena by DJ Belindo, which is guaranteed to put you in the mood.
I have been all over "The Sugar Shack" by would-be country singer Tami. I don't know much about her but this song has been on my radar for a while now but I haven't been able to fit it in anywhere. It's on a meteoric trajectory on the Billboard Club chart so I bit the bullet and managed to work in the catchy re-work by DJ Tracy Young.
Another tune I can't get enough of is "Don't Want You Back" by Bakermat featuring the very talented Kiesza. We haven't heard much from her in a while, but if this is the beginning of things to come; there's much to look forward to.
Overall, this entire mix smacks with all of your favorites re-worked for the dancefloor. I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did putting it together.
That's all I got for today. I'll be back next week with the darker side of summer. Until then...ENJOY!

Summer Edition 2017 Volume 1
Saturday Jul 15, 2017
Saturday Jul 15, 2017
I’m dropping Summer Edition 2017 early only because 1) it’s finished 2) kicks-ass 3) I’m behind in my postings after manually getting everything switched over to Podbean 4) If I sit on it; new releases will come out and I’ll feel compelled to add on to an already long set; likely screwing it up. 5) part 2 will be released in a few weeks anyway.
This set is a bomb that just explodes with energy! From "Love Is Love Is Love" Mauro Mozart remixed opener by one of Party Favorz favorite DIVAS, Miss Leann Rimes, Offer Nissim's (with the Bitches) modern-day rework of the Diana Ross classic "Ain't No Mountain" right down to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Cut the Feeling" with an uplifting rework by Toy Armada & DJ Grind and Barry Harris' 2017 rework of the Olivia Newton-John classic from yesteryear "Xanadu", the Summer Edition 2017 has it ALL!
I've got a website to build for a client and will start working on the latest EDM/Dance set shortly thereafter for release by the end of this coming week. So hold on folks, if you think it's hot now, just wait. Until the next time...ENJOY!
