As we continue to edge closer towards warmer days, Party Favorz is sending up your pre-summer dance party mix with the May EDM Sessions.
Kicking it off with Justin Timberlake's out of the box early summer anthem Can't Stop This Feeling, this set continues to steamroll that fuzzy feeling forward one right after the other.
I do inject a bit of a spanking with the uhh-mazing Cedric Gervais remix of Give Me Your Love but for the most part this set has S-U-M-M-E-R written all over it.
Surprisingly, there haven't been near as many Prince bootlegs as I was expecting to pop-up but there's still time. However, one of my favorites, Erotic City with the fabulous Sheila E. (the infamous b-side of When Doves Cry that didn't make the Purple Rain album) gets a sweet update or more like a punch to the original by DJ Scotty Boy. Crank this fucker up and get into the funk swing of it. This song is as fresh now as when it was released and I promise, you will DIG IT!
Honestly, I'm on a roll at the moment and if I remain in this fantastic mood (overcast, gloomy and all) through tomorrow, I may go ahead and share a little more love on the site. No promises, but ...ya never know.

Destination Boogie

School is out and summer is almost here. I figured it was time to check my white-ass at the door and step into another world to put some funk back in my step. Culminating some of the finest Funk, Soul, R&B, and Disco all under the House music umbrella,…blah, blah, blah.
Site collapsed yesterday; the original post is lost and I'm not re-entering it again; Siteground (my host) sucks my balls; PayPal dropped out as a result; and everything is moving at a snail's pace despite having done NOTHING to my site; zero, zip...NADA. I posted this new set and several hours later everything is offline. When it came back online; everything was jacked up.
I'm working on getting PayPal operational and have submitted my umpteenth request to get my site running at top speed again. I could pay a fraction of the cost to host this site on GoDaddy and not have anywhere near the issues (meaning no calls into support) that I have with Siteground. Every day I wake up and it's something new with these folks.
Billy, if you're reading this; check your email. I sent you something last night that should take care of you for now. Everyone else, don't bother reaching out. I'm going to get this shit fixed and will be incommunicado the rest of the day. Enjoy.

Gloria Estefan | The Diva Series

I can't think of no better way to offset a nu-school Diva induction with an old-school induction that frankly, is long overdue.
Gloria Estefan is a multi-Grammy winner with several top ten hits including Conga (her-trademark song performed with Miami Sound Machine), Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, 1-2-3, Get On Your Feet, Anything For You, Here We Are, Coming Out of the Dark, Oye! and Party Time to name a few. She's won an MTV Video Music Award, a couple of ACE awards, an American Music Award, and multiple Billboard awards. She was inducted into the BMI  Songwriters Hall of Fame and is listed as one of VH1's top 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. With a resume like that, it's no wonder she has garnered a great deal of respect as a mover and shaker within the recording industry.
I'm not here to pile on more accolades, or maybe I am. What I will say is that her "salsa es muy caliente."
Without further ado, Party Favorz honors Gloria Estefan with an induction into the Diva Hall of Fame.

Spring Edition 2016 | The Hottest Circuit Beats for Your Spring Workout

I've got the Spring Edition on tap for you folks. I know you boys have been waiting for something new to jazz up your workouts. Well, it's finally here.
It starts out sounding like the Barry Harris hour before giving away to other DJs. Let's face it; Barry's got an ear for this stuff and frankly puts a lot of the current crop of circuit DJs to shame. That being said, I was able to be very particular about what else went into this set; so, I'd definitely say it's the best of the rest that made the cut, making for a solid superset.
I've been keeping an eye on DJ Ranny's work for a while and frankly, he's been no stranger to Party Favorz but I got to say this guy is at the top of his game. Nowhere is this better reflected than his EPIC remix of Florence + the Machine's Queen of Peace. This is so OMFG momentous that it makes me feel proud to witness how Ranny has evolved over the years from a local DJ in Boston to an international powerhouse. Give the girl a standing O, please.
At the current rate, Party Favorz' doors should be wide open by the end of this next week. As I write this, Party Favorz doors are officially open.
There is a brand-spanking new junior D-I-V-A induction into the Hall of Fame I'll be posting tomorrow morning. The only hint I'll give is that she's about to embark on the US leg of her already successful tour in a week or so and that the gay boys adore her.

Spring Break 2016 | The Biggest Dance Hits to Get You to Summer!

Here is the final version of Spring Break 2016 that frankly should have been released a month ago. Maybe it's because of the amount of time I had to go back and tweak a few things here and there or maybe I'm just a genius (NOT), whatever the reason, this is some of the best work I've done in a long while.
Things start out House smooth before quickly building up into an all-out EDM party assault.  Just when your balls are sweating through your boxers, I slowing turn the notch down and slowly lower the needle with some of today's hottest house hits.
It appears the EDM scene is in a transition and making the necessary adjustments in an over-saturated "same-sound" market, which is a good thing. My job is to dive in and pick the best elements of the current crop of tunes while trying to identify what I think the future is going to sound like. Elements can be found here and you'll no doubt be hearing more of those transitions throughout the year. That is, until we get bored and start all over again.

Disco Hits Remixed & Re-imagined Volume 2 | Trash Disco Megamix

After dicking-around with my logo all morning, I'm finally getting around to posting the second installment of Trash Disco
Personally, I'm shocked at the overwhelmingly positive response the first set received. I really wasn't expecting that kind of reaction. I am pleased to tell you, this set was actually supposed to be part 1 but I swapped it at the last moment because I thought this was the stronger of the two sets and was going to use it to kick-off the subscription service. In fact, this set is so groove-a-licious, it can lift the laziest of you off the sofa to shake your ass.
Since I don't have everything in place yet, this one is on the house (pun intended), so get your roller-skates on because it's time to get down and B-O-O-G-I-E.
I finally have a weekend without any obligations and I plan on using this time to get everything up and running. The goal is to make the service fully automated without subscribers waiting up to 24 hours for me to email them back with a code. Everything needs to be self-sufficient so that my time is only spent between work (the kind that pays the bills) and doing what I do best, which is serving up sizzling hot platters of house music.
I may take some time off, so it might be at least two weeks before posting resumes. I know everyone is eager for me to get back to my normal pace of releases, so please give me some time to get everything tidy around here and then I'm on it.

Disco Hits Remixed & Re-imagined Volume 1 | Trash Disco Megamix

Happy Saturday everybody! Well, well, well...I bet nobody saw this one coming. I've had a massive disco hard-on for some time now that's left me with shiny disco blue balls and I just needed to get some relief.
Over the years, I've snuck in these little disco re-make gems into my house sets and decided it was time to start compiling them and put them all together. Because many are re-named other than what they actually are (likely due to copyright agreements), it's hard tracking these all down in my massive collection of dance music. I went back and picked up a few more and laid down the first of two sets in this new series. If you're looking to own any of these, most can be found by the track name listed here at junodownload.com.
I wasn't sure what category to file this under so I went with BackSpin. I can see this expanding into 80's music as well, so the list of possibilities with this new series is endless. I hope ya'll enjoy this as much as I did putting it together because if you don't, I still have another one on tap for next week.  We'll get back to normal operations soon enough but trust me when I say, you ain't missing much at the moment.

Happy spring ...oh wait, it's still winter.  Then again, you'd never know that living around here.  By next year, I may have to title the winter sets the "Global Warming Edition," but I digress.

The Mixtape Sessions | Winter ^16

It's been almost a year since the last Mixtape release; far too long if you ask me.  I thought I could forego this series and just drop a few songs into my House sets to satisfy that itch but it just left me wanting more. Frankly, there's just too much damn good music coming out these days for me to leave them on the cutting-room floor.
I took a few personal favorites (All My Friends, I Took a Pill in Ibiza) from earlier House sets and mixed them in with newer go-to favorites of the moment, to make a soul-satisfying, mind-altering, mood enhancing cocktail-blend that goes down smooth with no aftertaste.
While every song included in this one and a half hour+ set is fantastic, I'm obligated to point out certain tracks that standout and/or strike a serious chord with me. Sandy Rivera's awesome "Longtime Coming" revives the Sam Cooke classic "A Change Is Gonna Come" and wraps it into a deep and funky house tune that befits the original.  In an election year with an angry electorate, this song accurately reflects the mood of the country.
Just when you thought it wasn't possible to milk a dead cow any longer, the forever fabulous Loleatta Holloway is sampled (yet again) to create "Shelter" by Syncrosonic.  "Love Vibration" is quite possibly the most sampled song in history. Every phrase, verbiage, exaggeration and iteration of Lola's disco classic has been dissected in whole or in itsy bitsy parts to create entirely new songs for a new generation of house music lovers.  "Shelter" represents one of the most effective uses of sampling that creates an overwhelming sense of warmth not heard in house music in a very longtime.
Other standout tracks include the devious and delectable indie track "BTFU (Mommy Issues)" by Mark Johns and an un-credited vocalist, "Wasted on You" by Louis Futon & ROZES (who is quickly becoming the darling of the indie dance world) and the deep house bomb "I Love It When You" by Sam Callahan.

EVDM | Electronic Valentine Dance Music

As I get back into the swing of things, I'll be rolling out the tunes one by one.  I've got more back catalog sitting on my computer at the moment that's burning a hole in my hard drive trying to break free.
Right out of the gate, I'm serving up a massive EDM set that swings from some serious HEAVY HOUSE hitters to POWER ELECTRO-HOUSE anthems with a touch of URBAN JAM in-between.
Originally, I thought I might break this up into two sets but decided to eliminate a few songs and stitch it together for one wild ride.  The break comes between Sol Brothers Turn Me Out and Birdy's fantastic Keeping Your Head Up. The two competing styles don't exactly make for a perfect transition but it is good enough when playing in party mode. When you get past that, the overall set list reads like the hottest ticket in danceland at the moment or soon will be.
Keep your eye on the site because I got a lot dropping really soon, perhaps even as early as tomorrow.
