Happy weekend everybody! As promised, I’m sending up the Autumn 2014 Mixtape Sessions Volume 2 for your relaxation and pleasure.  I’m thinking I should have been a little more original and called these Fall Chill, but I was in brain drain mode at the time.
While equally as stimulating as the first, this set definitely pulls back the reigns for a steady stream of soul-satisfying atmospherics.  The slow-moving beats of “Djon Maya Mai” by French duo Synapson kicks the set-off and pretty much sets the mood thereafter.  Each deep house, indie or nu-disco tune smoothly glides in and out of consciousness creating a great escape from reality.
Every song here is a standout but if I had to pick some jewels other than the first song, I’d definitely go with London Grammar‘s beautiful “Strong,”  the indie to nu-disco “Salt” by Junior Sanchez  & Bad Suns and the lilting elegance of “Simple Love” by Julio Bashmore with J Danna on vocals.
Jessie Ware who was in my personal top ten for 2013, has been dropping some new singles and remixes of previous tunes since June.  I’m not sure if these will be included on a new album but they are all so damn good it was hard to decide which one to pick.  Ultimately, I went with the “Two Inch Punch Mix” of If You’re Never Gonna Move just for its sheer beauty and a previous personal connection to the song.  Jessie’s highly anticipated new album Tough Love drops October 6th so be sure to keep your hearts and ears open.
Newcomer Superhand recently released their second single “Crystal Pianos.”  The Anglo-Swedish duo is an experimental team dabbling in musical sounds that draw from rock, electronica, blues, and soul.  At first listen, “Crystal Pianos” sounds like you just stepped onto the Dark Side of the Moon and Rachel Yamagata joined the fun by jamming on her piano.  Clocking in at just under ten minutes, this one song allows Inga Calstrom and Leck Fischer to showcase their influences, which yielded this dark masterpiece.
As usual, I like to mix things up with something a bit unexpected and always try to close these sets out with something upbeat.  The Marlon Hoffstadt remix of Moon Boots’ “Don’t Ask Me Why” flips the original with an uplifting bounce.  I like to call it the “carousel” mix.  One listen and you’ll get it.
Finally, I closed the set with what I will say right here and now is (or should be IMHO) one of the best pop songs of the year but won’t.  The Knock’s “Classic” truly is what its name implies.  This disco-infused pop number is so perfect in every way that once you hear it you won’t be able to shake it.  Now folks, if this had major label support it’d be sitting at number one right now.  If Katy Perry got her claws into it, it would have been number one last year.  But, why bother?  Crista Ru’s (aka Powers) vocals combined with this wickedly addicting production make for perfect late-summer fun.  When she sings “Come to me baby, don’t be shy, don’t be shy” the only response you’ll have is “I’ll be there in a hot second” LOL.  Look for a new album by the Knocks later this fall.
Party Favorz is currently in release mode, so I’m gonna go ahead and start dropping the rest of the releases each day so I can back up and clear my hard drive and start working on some new projects for you folks.  I’ll be back tomorrow with something new for ya.
Until then …ENJOY!

With Labor Day weekend behind us, it’s time to start rolling out some more heat, albeit in a chill kinda fashion.  The Autumn Mixtape is a series of personal picks that are perfect for unwinding or just zoning out.
I’ve got a lot sitting on my hard drive at the moment and will be upping pt. 2 on Saturday followed by some more Millennial House Classics and a new Diva Series.  I’m getting the EDM bug again as some great stuff has finally made it to my ears, so I’ll likely be starting in on that soon.
Remember, due to the nature of the Mixtape Series, there are no cue files that will accompany them.  Hope everyone is gearing up for the weekend.  I’ll be back early Saturday.  Until then ….ENJOY!

Summer XO Volume 2

Happy Sunday everybody!  For pt. 2 of the Summer XO, I went back and brightened things up a bit by putting some sunshine into the mix.  This set has some of my go-to songs of the moment like Basement Jaxx's “Never Say Never,” the unstoppable Duke Dumont’s “Won’t Look Back” and Kieza’s “Hideaway.”  Sandwiched in between is a heaping trove of house goodness.
September is pretty much gonna be a sleeper here at Party Favorz, with two new Mixtapes (which are already in the can) and a very special new Diva induction into the Hall of Fame.  I still have the final five volumes of Millennial house classics to deliver so you got a pretty good idea of what’s coming out this month.  The next Dance Club set(s) and the Fall Edition won’t likely drop until sometime in October.
Anyone that’s had a chance to check out the site, will notice a major re-work of the layout and design.  Realizing I need to restructure so I can somehow monetize it to recover my monthly costs, I’m trying out some new things.  Expect even more changes to Party Favorz in the coming months.  Don’t worry, this ain't gonna hit your pocket-book, but hopefully will allow me to take my costs off my budget so it can sustain itself and continue to provide you with the excellence in podcasting you've come to enjoy from me.
If you’re in the US, get out and BBQ today and enjoy your Labor Day holiday.  If you’re not, get out anyway and take in some sunshine.  I’ll start rolling some new stuff out next week.  Until then …ENJOY!

As we begin to wind down summer 2014, I thought now would be a good time to send it off with a pair of super-deep house-lovin’ sets.  Summer XO represents some of the darkest house tunes I’ve come across in a long time.  Despite its shiny happy disco beat, the lyrics to the Ting Ting’s new single “Wrong Club,” are pretty dark.
Don’t get me wrong, this is my go-to tune of the moment, but this is some seriously deep shit.  That same undertone can be felt throughout both sets.  Even the Blondie classic “Heart of Glass” has been turned into this devious and dark deep house tune that frankly works surprisingly well.  I think it may be the whole Lana-tization (Lana Del Ray) of the current house scene that’s affecting these productions.  That’s not to say there aren’t some happy moments in-between the grooves, but if you’re looking to get your roller boogie on, this ain’t it LOL.
Did I ever tell you about the way I wanna feel
Giving it up and fly away
Did I ever tell you about the good times that you get
Don't know if you got another day
Hey! I'm in the wrong club
Listening to this shit
Hey! I'm in the wrong life, someone get me out of it
I’ve got the second part of this moody monster heading your way tomorrow so make sure you check back.  Until then …ENJOY!

Earlier this year, I embarked on a deep dive into the first decade of the 2000s, unearthing the gems that make up early Millennial House Music Classics. Having completed the project a few months back, I've decided it's time to bring it into the spotlight. Unlike its 90s predecessor, Millennial House Music marks a period of intriguing transitions and expansions, tracing the genre's evolution from its classic and disco lineage to a more varied soundscape.
The first decade of the new millennium was a formative time for house music, steering it into various sub-genres and stylistic flourishes. Sure, industry stalwarts like Eric Kupper, David Morales, and Full Intention continued their contributions. But this era also welcomed new talents like Freemasons, Seamus Haji, Moto Blanco, and Bob Sinclar, who offered fresh perspectives and interpretations for a new wave of dance music aficionados.
This collection, the first of a multi-series set, aims to provide valuable insights into the house music landscape from 2000 to 2009. Packed with tracks that span the breadth of stylistic approaches of the time, you'll find a lot here that'll transport you back to simpler, perhaps more rhythmic times.
Let’s delve into some featured tracks. Praise Cats and Andrea Love comes in hard with "Shined On Me," graced by a Bini & Martini Re-Vocal Mix. The song carries the timeless house element, presented with a new millennial charm. Clubland's "Let's Get Busy" features Sami Dee’s Classic House Remix, a track that has succeeded in encapsulating the energetic spirit of early millennial house music while keeping its roots firmly implanted in the burgeoning House scene from the late 1980s.
Barbara Tucker featuring Darryl D'Bonneau gives us "Stop Playing With My Mind," rendered in Full Intention's unmistakable style. Meanwhile, Armand Van Helden’s "I Want Your Soul" serves as a rhythmic manifesto of what house music had become at the turn of the millennium. Moloko’s iconic “Sing It Back” finds new life in the Boris Musical Mix, offering an idyllic blend of retro and contemporary sounds.
Another standout, Bob Sinclar's "I Feel For You," brings out a touch of romantic nostalgia that so often accompanies dance tracks. Further spicing up this compilation are tracks like Haji & Emanuel’s “Weekend” in the ATFC Wet Weekend Mix, and David Guetta’s collaboration with Estelle on “One Love,” extended into a multi-minute audio experience that captures the wide-ranging dynamics of early Millennial House Music Classics.
So, if house music is a passion you share or even an interest you’re keen to explore, you’re in for a delightful journey. Don’t hesitate to download and share this collection; the flashback is real, and the memories are golden. House music is my enduring love, and it's a pleasure to share these classics with you all.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Thanks to John, one of Party Favorz' followers, I was reminded of the fabulousness of one of country music’s greatest voices, Miss Leann Rimes.
Often criticized for being too fat or too skinny, too country or too pop, or even [gasp] a husband-stealing homewrecker, Miss Rimes is the perfect candidate for DIVA status. When the tabloids write about your every sneeze and the paparazzi take pictures of your every move, you know you have arrived.
Add to all these things a voice that most artists would sell their soul for — the gates of the Diva Hall of Fame just open right up to welcome you into a diverse and elite field of your peers.
Her willingness to embrace the translation of her music for the dancefloor is mere icing on the cake and likely one of the things we gays love about her.
From the early mega-hit How Do I live to the soaring Suddenly and today’s saucy Spitfire, Leann has always had her ear to the streets and has been remixed by some of the greatest producers in the dance industry.
At the tender age of 31, she isn’t about to quit and has a long career ahead of her. It’s for this reason and everything above that Party Favorz bestows our greatest honor on Miss Rimes and welcomes her to the Diva Hall of Fame.

It’s no secret that August is Madonna’s birthday month and in keeping with the ultimate annual HOLIDAY CELEBRATION, Party Favorz is serving up some diva-licious delights to honor the occasion.
Much like last year’s celebratory release, which you can still pick up here. This first set is composed of modern-day bootleg refreshers and a few never released originals, which fit in quite nicely.
Madonna reigns QUEEN supreme in the Diva Hall of Fame and she commands everybody to GET UP AND CELEBRATE!
Until the next time...ENJOY!
This set was originally supposed to be one volume but at the time — many followers were berating me to create smaller episodes so they can burn them to CD. Shortly after, I was made aware that people were burning these mixes to CDs and selling them as bootlegs in stores. I've since gone back and combined the two volumes into one as it was originally intended.

I had some free time about a week ago (yes, I am granted that small window of luxury on occasion), and was checking out EDM Sauce’s list of 14 Songs to Add to Your Summer Playlist.  I already owned about half the list where some had been recently used in the 2014 Beach House, while others I was not yet familiar with.  This reminded me that I had been stowing away songs into a separate folder since last year with the intent of creating a new chill set but never got around to working on. it  I decided now would be the perfect time to resurrect the Chill section of the site and maintain it going forward.
The four sets listed there now are no longer available and likely will not be going forward.  I like to think of these as my creative masterpieces or Pink Floyd’s “The Wall “ LOL.  Put together at a very dark time in my life when the relationship between Rick and I wasn’t exactly stellar and also a time where so much bitterness, hate, and uncertainty was being spewed by the crazies on the right in this country, I stitched together songs from different genres with a series of sound effects that reflected not only my mood but that of the turmoil in the US.
If you rewind even further back to 2008 and 2009 in the Party Favorz history, I used to make a series called the Deep Edition.   It consisted of a lot of Deep House, Electronic, and overall songs that were typically moody by nature and didn’t fit in with the other work I was doing at the time.  By 2010, that series was killed off entirely.  Since the 2011 re-boot of Party Favorz, I’ve had countless people tell me that the Deep Edition was hands down their favorite series.    I didn’t have the kind of stats that are available to me today to gauge its popularity so maybe I made a mistake.
Jumping back even FURTHER, I used to make mixtapes for all my friends every year at Christmas.  My mixtapes typically consisted of a few popular songs intertwined with cool cuts and artists I thought people should know about.  I’ve had more old friends tell me that because of those tapes, they discovered this artist or this type of music and still had the tapes to this day.  Who knew my passion for all things music could make such an impact?  I’ve always done what it is I like to do and then share it with anyone willing to listen.
Jumping forward to the original topic at hand, expect the Chill sets I plan on putting out to be a little of the Deep Edition and mixtapes from years past.  Likely a mixture of genres that are often moody but with an overall happy tone to level it out.  The first one I’m putting out is a combination of House, Deep House, NuDisco, Indie, and a slice of heavenly Brazilian samba thrown in for good measure.  It is eclectic, to say the least, but cohesive enough for you to follow.  In short, I think you’ll get it and if not, this series ain’t gonna be for you.  That’s okay cause everybody knows Party Favorz has something for just about everyone.
As I had mentioned in previous posts, I will be taking an extended vacation from the site over the next month.  I will definitely pop in for Madonna’s annual birthday mix and I plan on putting out a summer farewell set by the end of August titled Summer XO.  If I don’t reduce my services on my Libsyn account at the end of July, I may just quietly post some older sets that I wouldn't mind having available for posterity's sake.  I’m not saying for certain but you know me, it’s always hard to just walk away from my baby for too long, even if it’s for a self-imposed mandatory rest.  If anything, I’ll still be around to answer your questions like “how do I download a song?” LOL
Until Madge’s B-day… ENJOY!

So you say need some more tribalistic fun for your summer workouts?  No problem cause I’m sending up the Summer Ed. pt. 2 as promised and this is 20 degrees hotter than the first.
Warning, users listening to this mix have been prone to serious bouts of sweaty glands, uncontrollable pelvic thrusts while grunting aye papi, aye papi …AYE PAPI SI!
I do want to point out that the ultra HOT Carlos Gallardo remix of Rise Like A Phoenix by Conchita Wurst, was part of his submission to some remix contest for Eurovision and not officially released.  Consequently, you’ll hear a few drops with his name throughout the song but I managed to eliminate most of them.  I wouldn't normally include a song in a mix that’s laced with a DJ call-out, but this is just so damn good, I couldn't control myself [refer to line two of this post for additional warnings].
Tomorrow is Friday and as I had previously mentioned, I've got a special treat going up as I re-open a category on the site that’s been inactive for some time.  If you want to get a sneak peek, it’s already posted on my Grooveshark page.  Until then …ENJOY!

Dead smack in the middle of the coolest summer I can ever recall, Party Favorz is here to reclaim the heat with the 2014 Summer Edition.  In fact, it’s so freaking hot, I had to spread it out over two sets.
I’m off today and tomorrow so I’m not gonna spend a lot of time talking about this set and would rather let it speak for itself.  Though, I feel compelled to give a noticeable shout-out to John LePage and Brian Cua.  Much like DJ Grind and Toy Armada, the pairing of these two guys are producing some seriously sweet nectar.  Please, keep ‘em coming!
I’ll be sending part two up tomorrow and then Friday I’ll be posting to a section of the site that’s been inactive for a very long while.  That will be my special treat for you folks while I take a break from the site.

I readily admit to being a pessimist over this year’s crop of EDM offerings but my perspective has suddenly shifted.  After having kept the 2014 Catch-up on repeat and now wrapping up the second part to the Summer Hot Mess, I can honestly say there has been some really damn good music that’s been released this year.
Picking up where pt. 1 left off, the Summer Hot Mess pt. 2 relies heavily on current EDM smashes and several that will soon be.  Charli XCX makes a mid-summer bid with Boom Clap, a song that is already heating up at radio and will soon explode on the world’s dance floors with the Cahill remix.  Paramore drops a little disco-pop on us with their latest Ain’t It Funny, a personal favorite.
The sleeper hit of the summer has got to go to Joywave’s Tongues.  The original is a fun low-tech 80s throwback with a hilarious video to back it up.  The remixes by Sted-E & Hybrid Heights and DJ Laszlo take it to a whole new level.  Once those bouncy beats kick in, you’re hooked in a loop that you won’t get out of your head for days.
Robin Thicke’s Forever Love is a plea for forgiveness for sticking his dick in just about anything on two legs.  It’s likely a smart move on his part to help prevent his ex from bleeding him financially, then again I digress.  Jennifer and Nicki make a show with their new offerings (both of which I’d cast a shoulder of ambivalence towards).  Capital Cities follows up their massive 2013 hit Safe and Sound with One Minute More, which is another excellent slice of summer electro-pop.
We also have proven staples like Matthew Koma’s Wasted, Rita Ora’s I Will Never Let You Down and Calvin Harris’ Summer.  You’ll notice that R3hab, who has been cleansing his remixes lately with a more polished tone has remixed all three of these songs lending him more commercial cred, while still allowing him to burn the barn down with the same songs in his live performances.  A very smart move if you ask me.
Cosmic Dawn’s remix of Beyonce’s XO is the perfect example of cell phones lighting up the night in a nice slow sway during a live performance.  Why his version was not pushed to radio still mystifies me.  Finally, DJ Taj created a mandatory mashup of Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz.  To be honest, this is by far the best remix of this song I’ve heard so far.  Using piece’s of Syn Coles remix of Find You by Zedd and Matthew Koma, DJ Taj manages to give this lilting summer smash some dance floor wings without demolishing the original. You can pick up a copy for free on his Facebook page here.
The 2K14 Summer Edition for the circuit boys appears to be in great shape as I put the finishing touches on it.  I’ll likely have those two sets out early this next week so I can take a much-needed break from the site.  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far and has a fantastic weekend.  Until the next time …ENJOY!

Pushing forward into the summer, the 2K14 Hot Mess delivers the goods in the latest commercial EDM and those songs with staying power that continue to enjoy new remix treatments.
Between the website move, GoDaddy server issues forcing me to move elsewhere and still trying to keep up with posts, I can honestly say I’m feeling the burn, as in OUT.
Pt. 2 of the Summer Hot Mess will go up on Friday and I still have the 2014 Summer Edition ready to go next week for the circuit boys.  After that, I plan on taking an extended break from the site to work on some other projects, focus on work and possibly enjoy some of life’s little pleasures, which are far and few between these days.
This doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere, but I just feel the need to step back for a bit.  Regardless, ya’ll still have the promised sets going up to fulfill your summer escapism.  Until Friday …ENJOY!

Experience the Ultimate Gay Circuit Anthem Classics: Strict Machine
I kickstarted my day with a visit to Ian, the Starbucks hottie, as the crisp morning air sets the mood. Now, let's dive into Strict Machine, the electrifying finale of the Epic Circuit Anthems series. Prepare for big room drama that will ignite your senses.
Within this set, the Jonathan Peters remix of Paula Cole's "I Believe in Love" stands tall as the epitome of epicness. Clocking in at 14 minutes, this track boasts soaring diva vocals, heart-pounding beats, and dramatic moments that will leave you breathless. Although finding the perfect copy proved challenging, we've carefully tempered the song, ensuring a quality listening experience.
Another monumental track included is Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy," thanks to Razor 'n' Guido's masterful production. With tightened mix precision, we've enhanced the song's uplifting essence by eliminating unnecessary drops. Each remaining drop becomes a highly anticipated moment, adding to the thrill of the anthem.
In the coming months, we'll assess the response and delve into the numbers. If the feedback is positive, expect more sets in the future. For now, savor these iconic gay circuit anthem classics as we prepare for the upcoming summer EDM sets.
Wishing a Happy 4th of July to our US friends and a fabulous weekend to everyone else. Stay tuned for more exciting beats. Until then, enjoy the music!

Introducing 'Filthy Gourgeous' featuring Iconic Circuit Anthem Classics that are as hot as the guy on the cover. This set unleashes the drama and big beats on the dancefloor.
Prepare for an electrifying journey as we dive into the world of iconic circuit anthem classics. Filthy Gorgeous takes the baton from its predecessors, delivering a powerhouse of tracks featuring stunning vocals from Annie Lennox, Christina Aguilera, and an infectious rework of Vanity 6's Nasty Girl by Inaya Day. Peter Rauhofer's contributions are a testament to his unmatched talent. Oh, how we miss him!
Hex Hector, the master of big room drama, concludes this set with his massive production of Jennifer Lopez's Waiting For Tonight. It's only fitting to include this track that has captivated our hearts.
The third and fourth volumes of the Epic Circuit Anthems series were the first ones I put together. Some tracks were carefully sliced to rein in their grandeur, while others were left untouched—embracing their wild spirit. I understand that opinions may vary, with purists wanting the children to run free and the prudent seeking a touch of restraint. So, you'll experience the best of both worlds—a blend of creative decisions that have worked harmoniously.
Although the 4th of July is approaching, nothing will stop me from sharing the final set, aptly titled Strict Machine. Tomorrow, I'll take some time to curate the tracklist for the upcoming summer EDM set, potentially named Hot Mess (which is anything but). Don't worry, I'll make sure to enjoy some rays, barbecues, and beer before the fireworks. Until then, savor the music and anticipate tomorrow's exhilarating finale.

Happy Friday everybody!    The temp starts off warm with the Sam Smith slow-cooker “Stay With Me,” but quickly builds from there.  Duke Dumont’s “I Got U” get’s yet another remix treatment by none other than MK, who’s been doing his thing in house music since 1993.  While not as well-known or famous as some of his 90's cohorts, he’s most famous for his remix of the Nightcrawlers “Push the Feeling On.”  He has subsequently produced tracks for Pitbull and Will Smith.
Wise D & Kobe pluck the late 80's acid house classic "Sexpress" and give it an upbeat house treatment, while Block & Crown take the disco classic by Odyssey “Native New Yorker” (a personal all-time favorite) titled "New York City Girls" and stamped out a fierce filtered-disco thump, maintaining the soul of the original while dumping most of the lyrics, save the chorus.
Tommy Trash updates the early millennial number one “Don’t Call Me Baby” by Madison Avenue with a fresh vibe that breathes new life into this classic.  Mark Knight takes on Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” with a really deep and dark groove on “Your Love.”
We also see the return of Miss Patti Brooks (of TGIF fame) on “I Like the Way You Move,” a powerful house-stomper like you've never heard from her before.  That song also features backing vocals by former Supreme Scherrie Payne with Joyce Vincent-Wilson and Pamela Vincent of Tony Orlando and Dawn fame from the early 70s.
As promised, I dropped the Party Favorz edited version of Frankie Knuckles’ final mix for Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good,” then begin to lower the temp once more with Nile Rodgers' “Do What You Wanna Do” and the major deep house hit “Waves” by Mr. Probz.  I’d say that song along with “I Got U” will end up being two of the biggest house numbers of the year.
You can expect the final two sets of Epic Circuit Anthems to drop this coming week.  After that, I have no clue what’s in the bag BUT you know it’s gonna be good so make sure to follow this site for continued updates throughout the summer.
That’s pretty much all she wrote for now.  Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.  Until the next time …ENJOY!
