Amy Grant | The Diva Series

Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning C-Pop artist Amy Grant, released her first remix album of some of her biggest hits.  For those of you not familiar with Amy, she was a massive Christian pop star in the 80s and in 1991 released her first crossover album Heart In Motion, which yielded five top 20 singles, two of which went to number one.
While I was never a particular fan of Amy until that album came out, I had a friend back in the day (the nicest guy you'll ever meet), who was a hard-core Christian and a massive fan.  I can honestly say that's how I even knew who she was until HIM was released.
Without a doubt, her fan base has a huge gay following, and just by looking at the DJs that remixed her hits, it appears she covered almost all the bases with a list of who's who in the DJ community.  Heck, she even got Hex Hector on board for one of the songs, which is rare these days.
Party Favorz would like to welcome Amy Grant to the DIVA HALL of FAME as a welcome addition to an already crowded field of diversity.

A journey through the dynamic scene of dance remixes is incomplete without encountering the legend that is Hex Hector. Starting with humble beginnings, the New York-based DJ and remixer rose to prominence by shaping the contours of the dance music scene for more than a decade. One of the most pivotal moments of his illustrious career was an early rejection that became a blessing in disguise.
Picture this: a young Hex Hector presents a remix of Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart" to music mogul Clive Davis, only to be met with skepticism. Clive suggests he work with Soul Solution instead. Unbeknownst to Hex at the time, this move would propel the remix into a massive gay anthem, setting the tone for a new era of progressive and tribal house music.
Fast forward two years later, and Davis approached Hector to work his magic on Deborah Cox's lead single off her sophomore album "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here." This turned out to be a pivotal moment that further solidified Hex Hector's standing in the realm of elite production remix DJs. Although he didn't receive top billing—his name was subtly tucked away in the liner credits—the impact of his work was anything but footnote material. Contrary to Jason's belief (sorry, buddy), the absence of certain tracks doesn't detract from the overall quality of the setlist. While Hex's Wikipedia page does provide an exhaustive list, its reliability can sometimes be sketchy. If you want to verify the legitimacy of a particular remix, Discogs is your go-to resource.
Rather than truncate these gems, I let most of the tracks breathe, running their full course with only minor edits to their intros and outros. Summer Sweat | Even More BIG-ASS Circuit Beats

Happy 4th of July!  Hope your holiday isn't as rain-soaked as it has been here in Georgia.  I just got back from a morning run to Dicky Doo's Diner, an awesome place for a great southern breakfast that's not processed, frozen, and then reheated.  It's the real deal.  Sadly, I was dripping wet as another storm came through and it was pouring.  But hey, don't allow my misery get in the way of holiday fun.
I'm kinda surprised nobody has picked up on the cover art for these two sets.  I decided to have a little fun this go-around.  The hot guys were picked up from some Brazilian model website (yes, I like my Latin men) and then I decided to give these a magazine layout feel.  If any of you are familiar with the Men's Health magazines, I pretty much copied their layout format and just filled in the headlines with my own fun-filled titles.  Oh well, I thought they came out fantastic but no big deal.
As for this set, it's what you would come to expect.  BIGGER, BETTER, FASTER ...STRONGER!

Summer Heat | HOT Circuit Beats!

What an amazing week this has been for progressives!  First, the SCOTUS upholds the legitimacy of the Affordable Care Act, which would have caused millions of people to lose their health insurance had they ruled against it; followed by their ruling which legalizes same-sex marriage in all 50 states.
Another ruling that was equally important but received less attention came from Arizona, where voters petitioned and passed a referendum that took the drawing up of districts out of state congressional hands and assigned it to a bi-partisan group consisting of two Republicans, two Democrats, and one independent.  If you've ever seen how these districts are drawn up on a map, you would have a better understanding as to why the Republicans have a stranglehold on Congress.  They are designed to cheat the system ensuring like-minded individuals (i.e. right-wing nutjobs) are the overwhelming majority in each district.
When you have competitive districts composed of mixed ideology, progressives will usually win and re-thugs couldn't have that; so they challenged it and lost.  Now the momentum is on "we the people's" side to have gerrymandering relegated to the dustbins of history throughout the US.  Bring it on bitches!
Granted, we've also been grappling with the deaths of nine black folks in a South Carolina church by yet another right-wing nut job, which has been ensconced in a debate over the Confederate flag and whether or not state capitals should be flying the core symbol of slavery.  Sadly, you have to take the good with the bad.  Nevertheless, this symbol of bigotry and hatred may be seeing its final days up on a pole in most southern states.  Walmart and Amazon have already yanked them from their shelves.  No doubt, all the racists will be waving the flag touting their support for their history, which frankly they know very little of.
For now, it's ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC!  I promised a little something-something for your 4th of July holiday and boy am I delivering!  I've got not one but TWO massive circuit sets going up (the second will be tomorrow) for your holiday enjoyment.  "Heat" and "sweat" are the two recurring themes in these sets, so make sure to drink plenty of water LOL.

Unspeakable Joy | Gay Pride Anthems & Classics Megamix

I can't of no better way to wind this site down than with a new addition to the Gay Pride Classics series.  It's been a long while since I originally posted the 5-set podcast, which I performed some minor updating to last year but it still needed more.  Bigger, better, faster ...HARDER!
Things start with Linda Eder's version of "I Am What I Am" from La Cage Aux Folles.  This song was/is a rallying cry for the gay community originally made famous by Gloria Gaynor in 1983.  Though I didn't use Gloria's version, a 2013 re-work of her other gay anthem "I Will Survive" does appear here and fits nicely with the late 90s early millennium vibe of this set.
While the majority of these songs have appeared at one time or another in past sets, the one song I could never get worked in is the closing number.  The original Bruce Roberts, Elton John, and Kristine W version of "When the Money's Gone" is one of my ALL-TIME favorites.  The only version of this song that exists is in a continuous mix; one for the Junior Vasquez "White Party Album" and the other from some obnoxious "Gay Anthems" mix album.  I was finally able to mix it in with the cold ending of "I'm Outta Love" and just added a blast sound effect for the cold ending of the song that was about to mix into another song from which it was taken.  Not to go on and on about this but I'm tickled I finally got it to work.
Some of you have sent me a note indicating you tried to donate to the site but for some reason, it wouldn't allow you.  Usually, you have to turn off the pop-up blocker in your browser for it to work.  If you prefer, you can send your donation via PayPal to info@partyfavorz.com.  I need to raise $60 (I already got $10) by the 17th to keep the site up.  Otherwise, I'll just keep the name and drop everything else.  I'm freaking dirt poor at the moment and this is the only way to keep things moving.  If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen.  It's been a good ride and frankly, I'm pleased with what I have achieved, so no regrets.

Beach House 2015 Volume 1

I’m serving up (earlier than usual) some of the hottest house music for your summer enjoyment. From disco to house and everything in between, it doesn’t get any sweeter than this when you’re hanging out at the pool.
That being said, Party Favorz is on its last legs. With my recent split from Rick, single income, and a new apartment, I just don’t have the money to keep this site afloat. I want to thank DiscoBall for sending me $10, which I will use to keep the partyfavorz.com domain but other than that, that’s about all I can do.
To add another wrench into things, my father (and best friend) was just diagnosed with dementia right when I begin training for a new job working from home this next week. I’m kind of not in a good place at the moment even though I have another surprise going up for you folks for this year’s Gay Pride tomorrow.
The site is set to expire on June 18th, but I’ll likely have the domain transferred to GoDaddy (because it’s cheap) so I can retain ownership of my baby.
There’s been a lot of action going on with my YouTube channel even though I keep getting copyright claims sent over to me. Google asked me to participate in a lengthy questionnaire, which dealt specifically with these claims and it appears they may be working on something to monetize the podcasts (I’m not the only one doing it) for the respective artists.
As a result, I may try to expand it, which is entirely different from what you folks are used to but that may be my best option for the time being (unless Google can’t work something out and I ultimately get shut down). I can’t say for certain.

Gay Pride 2015 Volume 2 | Even More Big-Ass Circuit Beats

Somewhere this week I lost a day.  I'd swear yesterday was Thursday and stayed up all night binging on the new Netflix series "Sense8."  As a result, I rolled out of bed later than my usual 6am only to realize that today was already Saturday and that I missed my Pride post for yesterday.  Better late than never and I believe you will be pleased because this sucker is gonna blow the roof off!
The United States is on the cusp of a MAJOR change in policy toward gay marriages.  The SCOTUS is set to hand down a decision challenging a ban on same-sex marriage that will have a rippling effect throughout all 50 states.  Just because I recently had a failed 14-year relationship that didn't get to see this important recognition DOES NOT mean I have soured on EQUALITY FOR ALL.  To the contrary, gay rights have come a long way in this country but it's been a difficult journey, to say the least, and things have been moving fast over the past five years.
In short, this decision is expected to split the court with a swing vote by Justice Kennedy tipping the scale in our favor.  Even if marriage is not an important issue for you personally, this decision will be historic and will pull out another peg from the four-legged stool of injustice that has been plaguing the LGBT community for a lifetime.  Party Favorz stands in full support of the rights of these good folks and their families to finally have the recognition they rightfully deserve.
As I had mentioned in my prior post, my domain (partyfavorz.com) is set to renew on June 18th as is the hosting for the site.  I had their top-tier package last year but after looking at the cheapest possible options, I figured I can get away with their base plan.  While this site drums up quite a bit of traffic, most of you good folks who follow me regularly get your updates through the various social media options I have available and in the majority of cases off of your phones.  You can thank Big Brother, uh I mean Google Analytics for providing this invaluable information.
Nevertheless, I still need to maintain my presence on the internet with the site from which all these alternative sources of accessing my content are available.  So, I went ahead and re-opened the Party Favorz Vault and am once again offering unlimited access to ALL of my past podcasts for a flat rate of $40 annually.  Since this is the month of Pride, I am also offering access to just the Pride folder and the majority of its contents (including the classic Pride sets) for a flat rate of $10 through July 4th.  I plan on providing low-quality streaming on them in the next couple of hours for those that are interested.
For those of you who already subscribe, I have re-added the PayPal button on the front page so that you might consider a one-time donation to help offset my costs.  I need to come up with $60, which for the most part is not a lot, but after my recent split with Rick, money IS too tight to mention.  In the interest of keeping Party Favorz afloat, please consider donating $5, $10, or anything you can afford.  In the immortal words of Depeche Mode, "everything counts (even) in small amounts."

Gay Pride 2015 Volume 1 | BIG Circuit Beats

Welcome to the GAY PRIDE edition 2015.  Due to time constraints and other personal priorities, Gay Days was dropped as is the collection of the best EDM hits for the year so far in favor of this two-set circuit beats.
With so much going on lately, it will be difficult to maintain my previous output for this site.  Regardless, I'm on track for the next couple of weeks with part 2 of this set followed by the annual Beach House set which is currently in the production phase (and is looking mighty tasty).
