EDM & House Music: Party Favorz (Circuit, Funky & Dance Classics)

Party Favorz is a dance music podcast and mix series, founded by Keith (aka K j A M), that has been producing and distributing mixes since 2007.
The project’s origins trace back to 1999 in South Texas, where Keith was DJing at a gay bar. After-hours parties were a local staple, and Keith’s branded mix CDs became known as "party favorz"—a nickname that stuck.
The podcast was born by accident on a music-focused blog. Encouraged by friends, Keith’s blogging evolved into Party Favorz, a brand now connecting disco, house, EDM, and circuit trends to a global audience.
At its heart, Party Favorz is about celebration and inclusiveness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. It's about providing a soundtrack that serves any moment in your life—whether you're at the gym, poolside, or simply in need of joy.
So, crank it up and get the party started!

Summer Edition 2k14 Volume 1
Wednesday Jul 16, 2014
Wednesday Jul 16, 2014
Dead smack in the middle of the coolest summer I can ever recall, Party Favorz is here to reclaim the heat with the 2014 Summer Edition. In fact, it’s so freaking hot, I had to spread it out over two sets.
I’m off today and tomorrow so I’m not gonna spend a lot of time talking about this set and would rather let it speak for itself. Though, I feel compelled to give a noticeable shout-out to John LePage and Brian Cua. Much like DJ Grind and Toy Armada, the pairing of these two guys are producing some seriously sweet nectar. Please, keep ‘em coming!
I’ll be sending part two up tomorrow and then Friday I’ll be posting to a section of the site that’s been inactive for a very long while. That will be my special treat for you folks while I take a break from the site.
Until then …ENJOY!

Summer Hot Mess 2K14 Volume 2
Friday Jul 11, 2014
Friday Jul 11, 2014
I readily admit to being a pessimist over this year’s crop of EDM offerings but my perspective has suddenly shifted. After having kept the 2014 Catch-up on repeat and now wrapping up the second part to the Summer Hot Mess, I can honestly say there has been some really damn good music that’s been released this year.
Picking up where pt. 1 left off, the Summer Hot Mess pt. 2 relies heavily on current EDM smashes and several that will soon be. Charli XCX makes a mid-summer bid with Boom Clap, a song that is already heating up at radio and will soon explode on the world’s dance floors with the Cahill remix. Paramore drops a little disco-pop on us with their latest Ain’t It Funny, a personal favorite.
The sleeper hit of the summer has got to go to Joywave’s Tongues. The original is a fun low-tech 80s throwback with a hilarious video to back it up. The remixes by Sted-E & Hybrid Heights and DJ Laszlo take it to a whole new level. Once those bouncy beats kick in, you’re hooked in a loop that you won’t get out of your head for days.
Robin Thicke’s Forever Love is a plea for forgiveness for sticking his dick in just about anything on two legs. It’s likely a smart move on his part to help prevent his ex from bleeding him financially, then again I digress. Jennifer and Nicki make a show with their new offerings (both of which I’d cast a shoulder of ambivalence towards). Capital Cities follows up their massive 2013 hit Safe and Sound with One Minute More, which is another excellent slice of summer electro-pop.
We also have proven staples like Matthew Koma’s Wasted, Rita Ora’s I Will Never Let You Down and Calvin Harris’ Summer. You’ll notice that R3hab, who has been cleansing his remixes lately with a more polished tone has remixed all three of these songs lending him more commercial cred, while still allowing him to burn the barn down with the same songs in his live performances. A very smart move if you ask me.
Cosmic Dawn’s remix of Beyonce’s XO is the perfect example of cell phones lighting up the night in a nice slow sway during a live performance. Why his version was not pushed to radio still mystifies me. Finally, DJ Taj created a mandatory mashup of Am I Wrong by Nico & Vinz. To be honest, this is by far the best remix of this song I’ve heard so far. Using piece’s of Syn Coles remix of Find You by Zedd and Matthew Koma, DJ Taj manages to give this lilting summer smash some dance floor wings without demolishing the original. You can pick up a copy for free on his Facebook page here.
The 2K14 Summer Edition for the circuit boys appears to be in great shape as I put the finishing touches on it. I’ll likely have those two sets out early this next week so I can take a much-needed break from the site. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far and has a fantastic weekend. Until the next time …ENJOY!

Summer Hot Mess 2K14 Volume 1
Wednesday Jul 09, 2014
Wednesday Jul 09, 2014
Pushing forward into the summer, the 2K14 Hot Mess delivers the goods in the latest commercial EDM and those songs with staying power that continue to enjoy new remix treatments.
Between the website move, GoDaddy server issues forcing me to move elsewhere and still trying to keep up with posts, I can honestly say I’m feeling the burn, as in OUT.
Pt. 2 of the Summer Hot Mess will go up on Friday and I still have the 2014 Summer Edition ready to go next week for the circuit boys. After that, I plan on taking an extended break from the site to work on some other projects, focus on work and possibly enjoy some of life’s little pleasures, which are far and few between these days.
This doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere, but I just feel the need to step back for a bit. Regardless, ya’ll still have the promised sets going up to fulfill your summer escapism. Until Friday …ENJOY!

Gay Circuit & Anthem Classics Megamix — Strict Machine
Friday Jul 04, 2014

Experience the Ultimate Gay Circuit Anthem Classics: Strict Machine
I kickstarted my day with a visit to Ian, the Starbucks hottie, as the crisp morning air sets the mood. Now, let's dive into Strict Machine, the electrifying finale of the Epic Circuit Anthems series. Prepare for big room drama that will ignite your senses.
Within this set, the Jonathan Peters remix of Paula Cole's "I Believe in Love" stands tall as the epitome of epicness. Clocking in at 14 minutes, this track boasts soaring diva vocals, heart-pounding beats, and dramatic moments that will leave you breathless. Although finding the perfect copy proved challenging, we've carefully tempered the song, ensuring a quality listening experience.
Another monumental track included is Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy," thanks to Razor 'n' Guido's masterful production. With tightened mix precision, we've enhanced the song's uplifting essence by eliminating unnecessary drops. Each remaining drop becomes a highly anticipated moment, adding to the thrill of the anthem.
In the coming months, we'll assess the response and delve into the numbers. If the feedback is positive, expect more sets in the future. For now, savor these iconic gay circuit anthem classics as we prepare for the upcoming summer EDM sets.
Wishing a Happy 4th of July to our US friends and a fabulous weekend to everyone else. Stay tuned for more exciting beats. Until then, enjoy the music!

Iconic Circuit Anthem Classics Megamix — Filthy Gorgeous
Thursday Jul 03, 2014
Thursday Jul 03, 2014
Introducing 'Filthy Gourgeous' featuring Iconic Circuit Anthem Classics that are as hot as the guy on the cover. This set unleashes the drama and big beats on the dancefloor.
Prepare for an electrifying journey as we dive into the world of iconic circuit anthem classics. Filthy Gorgeous takes the baton from its predecessors, delivering a powerhouse of tracks featuring stunning vocals from Annie Lennox, Christina Aguilera, and an infectious rework of Vanity 6's Nasty Girl by Inaya Day. Peter Rauhofer's contributions are a testament to his unmatched talent. Oh, how we miss him!
Hex Hector, the master of big room drama, concludes this set with his massive production of Jennifer Lopez's Waiting For Tonight. It's only fitting to include this track that has captivated our hearts.
The third and fourth volumes of the Epic Circuit Anthems series were the first ones I put together. Some tracks were carefully sliced to rein in their grandeur, while others were left untouched—embracing their wild spirit. I understand that opinions may vary, with purists wanting the children to run free and the prudent seeking a touch of restraint. So, you'll experience the best of both worlds—a blend of creative decisions that have worked harmoniously.
Although the 4th of July is approaching, nothing will stop me from sharing the final set, aptly titled Strict Machine. Tomorrow, I'll take some time to curate the tracklist for the upcoming summer EDM set, potentially named Hot Mess (which is anything but). Don't worry, I'll make sure to enjoy some rays, barbecues, and beer before the fireworks. Until then, savor the music and anticipate tomorrow's exhilarating finale.

Beach House 2K14 Volume 2
Friday Jun 27, 2014
Friday Jun 27, 2014
Happy Friday everybody! The temp starts off warm with the Sam Smith slow-cooker “Stay With Me,” but quickly builds from there. Duke Dumont’s “I Got U” get’s yet another remix treatment by none other than MK, who’s been doing his thing in house music since 1993. While not as well-known or famous as some of his 90's cohorts, he’s most famous for his remix of the Nightcrawlers “Push the Feeling On.” He has subsequently produced tracks for Pitbull and Will Smith.
Wise D & Kobe pluck the late 80's acid house classic "Sexpress" and give it an upbeat house treatment, while Block & Crown take the disco classic by Odyssey “Native New Yorker” (a personal all-time favorite) titled "New York City Girls" and stamped out a fierce filtered-disco thump, maintaining the soul of the original while dumping most of the lyrics, save the chorus.
Tommy Trash updates the early millennial number one “Don’t Call Me Baby” by Madison Avenue with a fresh vibe that breathes new life into this classic. Mark Knight takes on Kylie’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” with a really deep and dark groove on “Your Love.”
We also see the return of Miss Patti Brooks (of TGIF fame) on “I Like the Way You Move,” a powerful house-stomper like you've never heard from her before. That song also features backing vocals by former Supreme Scherrie Payne with Joyce Vincent-Wilson and Pamela Vincent of Tony Orlando and Dawn fame from the early 70s.
As promised, I dropped the Party Favorz edited version of Frankie Knuckles’ final mix for Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good,” then begin to lower the temp once more with Nile Rodgers' “Do What You Wanna Do” and the major deep house hit “Waves” by Mr. Probz. I’d say that song along with “I Got U” will end up being two of the biggest house numbers of the year.
You can expect the final two sets of Epic Circuit Anthems to drop this coming week. After that, I have no clue what’s in the bag BUT you know it’s gonna be good so make sure to follow this site for continued updates throughout the summer.
That’s pretty much all she wrote for now. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Until the next time …ENJOY!

Beach House 2K14 Volume 1
Wednesday Jun 25, 2014
Wednesday Jun 25, 2014
It’s time for that funkydiscohouseshit …YEAH, BABY! Comprised of the finest disco, funk, soul and deep house of the moment, the 2K14 Beach House is on FIRE this year!!! In fact, I couldn’t contain the fire and it ended up spreading into a second set, which will be dropping on Friday. Just in time for your 4th of July holiday, I’m letting loose some serious sunshine for the beach lovers and the pool-side margarita-sipping divas.
No doubt when you do a quick scan of the track-list, you will notice two notable songs that may leave you scratching your head. Before you go off half-cocked and start sending me nasty messages about why I mucked-up your summertime fun with Katy Perry, I suggest you listen to it first. Her latest single Birthday was released with a gazillion remixes. Mark Picchiotti took the opportunity to throw in not one but three different mixes (house, disco, and beach), all of which are exceptional and surprisingly fit the song really well. Besides, with “beach” in the title, it was a surefire bet it would be included.
The other oddity you may ask yourself is why didn’t I include the Frankie Knuckles amazing remix of Michael Jackson’s Love Never Felt So Good. Honestly, I have been impressed with all of the remixes for this song and DJ Kue’s filtered-disco version was just too delicious to leave out. So, Frankie’s take (which was his very last remix before his passing) IS included in volume 2 coming out Friday. While his version was left intact by Eric Kupper, I had no choice but to do some creative editing to reel the song in because this ain’t the 90s no more. Regardless, his final offering is a fitting tribute to the King of Pop and another gold star in the legacy that Frankie leaves behind.
Finally, DO NOT MISS out on the last track Jubel by Kingande. This song is an OMFG summer tune! The original version came out last year but Ultra picked up the distributing rights for the US and commissioned several remixes for the song. I fully expect Jubel to lodge itself into the most memorable summer songs of 2014. Expect to be hearing either this or the amazing Tube & Berger remix on the upcoming Hot Mess summer EDM set I’ve got scheduled later in July.
I’ve got an interview with my company for a management position later this afternoon so everybody wishes me luck. After all, I need the money so I can keep feeding your rapacious appetites for all things Party Favorz [grin]. I’ll be back on Friday with volume 2 of Beach House.
Until then …ENJOY!

Got Pride? 2014 | Gay Pride Anthems
Friday Jun 13, 2014
Friday Jun 13, 2014
With all the work, headaches and overall general crap trying to get Party Favorz moved over to Wordpress and Libsyn, my new hosting provider for the actual podcast, I was afraid that this year’s Pride was gonna get lost in the shuffle.
While working on Gay Days, I began making the rainbow connection and ideas just started seeping out my ears. Then, I saw a promotional release by Matt Consola’s Swishcraft, you know the GAYEST music label in the world based out of San Francisco, that featured a remix of the late 80's classic I Beg Your Pardon by Kon Kan.
That lead me to their Facebook page, where I was reminded that Barry Harris, you know the GAYEST half of Thunderpuss was also half of the one-hit wonder group in the late 80's. I Beg Your Pardon is scheduled for a full release in mid-July with all new remixes from a variety of DJs. This appears to be an exciting project and I can’t wait to get my paws on the new updates of this classic song.
Ultimately, Got Pride? 2014 is a culmination of remixes that plays like 7 degrees of Swishcraft. Virtually every song or DJ in it has some connection back to the GAYEST label in the world, including the GAYEST of them all Wayne G LOL.
Sprinkled with some newer updated gay anthems and a few notable new releases, Got Pride? 2014 smashes the objective and rains down like a Skittles commercial. Taste the RAINBOW indeed!
We may only be halfway through Pride month but Party Favorz has even more goodness up our sleeves and it’s highly recommended you stay close to the updates coming your way between now and the end of the month. DON’T BE A LOSER AND MISS OUT! Instead, be the coolest kid on the block armed with the latest and greatest dance music podcasts to show off to all your friends at pool parties and whatever gatherings you may be attending this summer.
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and until the next one …ENJOY!

Best Classic Circuit Anthems Megamix — New York City Boy
Saturday Jun 07, 2014
Saturday Jun 07, 2014
As I revisited each of the best classic circuit anthems, I noticed that a majority of the songs had a certain grandeur about them. DJs seemed to revel in this opulence, sometimes seemingly without reason. Back in the golden era of dance music, extravagance was the norm. However, upon reflection, I now believe that some of these tracks could do with a bit of creative editing but the longer the better was the rule of thumb back in the day.
Tracks like Thunderpuss' remix of New York City Boy by the Pet Shop Boys or DJ Skribble and Anthony Acid’s version of I’m Not in Love, originally lasted a staggering 14 minutes, certainly needed a touch of moderation. Mindfully, I refined these larger-than-life tunes, preserving the authentic feel, but eliminating any superfluous sections. More of this editing can be seen in the fourth volume of the best classic circuit anthems series. Rest assured, these minimal adjustments won't rob you of your cherished dance floor memories.
The Thunderpuss remix of hit classic circuit anthem, New York City Boy, remains true to the tradition of stirring passions on the dance floor while our sweaty gay brothers raised their hands to the chorus screaming "VODKA, VODKA" at the top of our lungs. And just like the previous entries in this collection of the best classic circuit anthems — these songs were EPIC party anthems!
As we move into next week, get ready for the official Party Favorz Gay Pride 2014 line-up, and potentially the final two sets of this series or the 2014 Catch-Up, featuring the year's biggest dance songs so far. I'm racing against the clock to get the latter done, so its release depends on my progress. Either way, both these collections will hit your playlists by the end of the month. Plus, there's a fresh Beach House set scheduled for early July to bring all your summer dance floor dreams to life!
I’ll be back next week, around Thursday or Friday at the latest, with your official 2014 Pride edition, guaranteed to keep the party going. Until then, enjoy the best classic circuit anthems and keep dancing!

Classic Circuit & Anthems Megamix — Ooh La La
Friday Jun 06, 2014
Friday Jun 06, 2014
Experience the thrill of classic circuit anthems as Party Favorz takes you on an unforgettable musical ride. After much anticipation, we have carefully curated a collection of four epic non-stop music sets that embody the true essence of this genre. Brace yourself for Ooh La la, the first installment in our series, and get ready for an EPIC experience!
During the late 90s and the first eight years of the new millennium, DJs unleashed a wave of massive, drama-filled remixes onto the dance floor. This trend had its origins in the mid-90s, with early works by renowned DJ Tony Moran and Junior Vasquez. The only challenge they faced was how to handle the drop.
Often, these remixes would reach a pause about two-thirds of the way through, leaving dancers wondering where the track was headed. Skilled live DJs would skillfully mix out of the song at this moment, only for it to reload with the final chorus. However, in 1999, Hex Hector revolutionized the game with his groundbreaking remix of Jennifer Lopez's "Waiting For Tonight." This track, with its slow builds leading to a monumental peak, followed by a breathtaking drop and another gradual ascent to the "ultimate climax," was a game-changer. It was like reaching the edge of ecstasy, holding back, and then slowly building up again before an explosive release. This was no ordinary song—it kept the dance floor sizzling with anticipation until its heart-pounding, sweaty conclusion. It was pure HOT SEX on the dance floor.
Our upcoming sets encapsulate the magic created by some of the most influential DJs of the early millennium. From the drama-filled tracks to the hands-in-the-air happy anthems, these sets represent the monumental works of DJs like Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Jonathan Peters, Victor Calderone, and Peter Rauhofer (amongst others) who were at the forefront of this dancefloor movement. Although this collection is far from exhaustive, it serves as a fantastic starting point. Party Favorz pays tribute to their historic contributions by bringing them together for your present and future enjoyment.
Let's take a step back to the not-so-distant past and relive the exhilarating moments we had dancing to these monumental anthems. Prepare to be enthralled and immerse yourself in the infectious beats of Classic Circuit Anthems. Get ready to ENJOY!

The EDM Sessions | June 2014
Sunday Jun 01, 2014
Sunday Jun 01, 2014
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYBODY! Okay, okay … this set was scheduled for Friday morning delivery but due to space limitations on my new host, I had to wait until today when it resets. Better late than never, cause this shit SLAMS!
Party Favorz is a one-man operation that never rests! I work hard to bring you the biggest, best and most promising dance music so you don’t have to. Given all the work that went on and will continue for the next few months pulling everything together on the new site, I had been a little lax in my posting. last week, I dropped Gay Days for the circuit boys and this week I’m dropping a brand-spanking new EDM set full of delicious big room beats and lots of drops.
This set starts off a little slow but quickly picks up steam about halfway through. Lots of great new stuff in here and my personal fav of the moment is Matthew Koma’s “Wasted.” Think of it as a modern twist on the Pet Shop Boys “You Only Love Me When You’re Drunk.” Of course, I’ve been all over the Fedde Le Grande remix of Michael Jackson’s “Love Never Felt So Good,” ever since it was announced. Despite what Lance Bass and his side-kick Giggles, Wiggles, Tickles or whatever her name is said a couple of weeks ago on Dirty Pop, Ariana Grande & Iggy Azalea’s “Problem” is a massive thumper, not the two thumbs down they gave it. Frankly, if they’re going to be hosting a show about pop culture, they need to get with the program and understand what the fuck they’re talking about. In the same show, they gave these three rather mediocre or flat-out lame songs the thumbs up. I was practically screaming like a wild man in my car when I heard this blasphemy.
Out of all the tunes included here, Daft Punk’s “Derezzed” is quite possibly the most uninspired work they could possibly conjure up, including Avicii’s tame remix of the song. Step in Chris Cox to punch it up and save it from drowning in its own blandness. Of course, we got Katy’s latest and a new one from Ellie Goulding, who I personally think can do no wrong. I’m not sure why, but I just adore this woman even though I don’t keep up with all the latest happenings in the lives of artists, stars or otherwise. I just seem to consistently feel her work whenever it comes across my conscious.
You may very well want to stay close to the site and make sure to follow me in any which way you choose. There is no shortage of options to get your Party Favorz delivered in a manner that’s convenient to your lifestyle. For those that have been asking for it, Party Favorz is now listed by category in iTunes. The only two missing are the Diva Hall of Fame, which will never be listed and Gay Pride, which will be fixed and listed by the end of the week. June is going to be a VERY busy month around here and I don’t want anybody missing out on all the goodness heading your way.
I hope everybody has a fabulous weekend and I’ll be back with some more crazy-good love next week. Until then …ENJOY!
