Hot on the heels of the Jingle Jam Electric v1, I’m sending up volume 2 for your winter solstice pleasure. Packed with guilty pleasures currently atop the dance charts and others that will soon be along with some smoldering underground cuts, there’s nothing to dislike here (unless electro isn’t your cup of tea).

Jingle Electric 2012 Volume 1

Just in time for those of you heading back home to visit the folks and will be hooking up with old friends this evening at your hometown clubs, I’m serving up a heaping plate of Electro House with a healthy portion of sides! Pulling from some of the hottest tunes above and underground, this first serving will leave you full and satisfied.
But wait…there’s more! I’ve got dessert ready to go but will let you walk this one off first before I serve it up on Wednesday.
I have to say that it has sure been nice working on these sets. After all the long hours of putting together the last two Chill Editions, I really needed a break.  More importantly, I needed some energy to pick me up and put me back on the dance floor again. This is what the doctor prescribed and boy oh boy did it work!
So, next week will be v2 of Jingle Jam Electric followed by the Holiday Edition for the circuit boys the week after and then a holiday dance re-tread from last year for those that never got it and then….drum roll please…you guessed it the annual Top Dance Song of the Year 2012, which has been officially re-christened “The Time Capsule” series.
With the newly expanded capacity of this site, I may even throw in some previous year-ends for everyone. I’m also feeling a possible Diva Series (something I haven’t done in a long time) featuring Kelly Clarkson. Lean Forward [Chill Edition]

Since last night’s victory, I have been riding on a natural high. All the tea party nuts had been defeated except the crazy lady married to the big old queen, Michelle Bachman. That’s okay, she narrowly scraped by and will likely be doomed in two years when she’s up for re-election.  Her brand of crazy is no longer welcome in the US Congress.
Obama pulled it out with the popular vote and the electoral vote. How wide a margin will largely depend on Florida once the count is finally tallied.
A big heaping thanks to those that stood in line (up to 4 hours) after the polls closed to make their vote count. The American people appreciate your resilience.
It just goes to show that no matter how much money the Koch brothers or Sheldon Adelson throw into our system, they weren’t able to buy our government, because we the people (at least 51% of us) are smarter than that. I hope your investment was worth it because a couple of Supreme court justices will be retiring and Barak gets to replace them. I fully expect the disastrous Citizens United to be reversed. Giving corporations personhood status and allowing folks to dump as much money into our campaigns to buy off congress all in the name of free speech is quite possibly the most fucked up decision these right-wing thugs have ever decided on.
I give you the final Chill Edition for the year 2012. Lest we forget, I’ve packed it with all the highlights of right-wing nuttery from the year as well as those cases that made national headlines and brought shame to our great nation.

Divided We Fall [Chill Edition]

I finally started making some headway on this set.  I’ve had so much going on the past several weeks, I didn’t know if I was /coming or going. I threw Rick a birthday party this past weekend (for what I don’t know, he doesn’t appreciate it) and once I got past that, I was able to sit down and start assembling all the music, sound effects, and video snippets I had been collecting for the past year. You better believe this was no easy task, especially since my headphones are shot.
Essentially, Divided We Fall picks up where we left off with The Promise of a Better Life.  This time around, I expanded on the variety of genres and tempos of the songs to provide an overall satisfying soundscape. After checking out “other” chill sets, I wanted to separate what I do from the new age/elevator-type music included in the more polished studio releases.
Then, there is the overall theme. It wasn’t my goal to be preachy but rather inform. Personally, I think it’s good to know what’s being said by our politicians and expose their hypocrisy, lies, and corrupt greedy manipulating actions, often done in the name of their “god.” Regardless of where your ideology lies, this set and the follow-up next week provide food for thought.
It’s best to listen through a headset or earplugs to get the whole feel; if you’re just in it for the music, by all means, play it in the car or on your home stereo and bypass all the blather in-between songs LOL. The music IS that good.
Between now and election day, I’ll be finishing up the second half and dropping that sometime after the 6th. If you’re in the US, be sure to get out and vote on the 6th, or better yet, VOTE EARLY!

Halloween Edition 2012

Whoa, Nelly! Betcha you weren’t expecting this one so soon cause frankly, neither was I. However, it just came together so nicely I had to get it out now or risk mucking it up as new promos continue to pour in.  Besides, this will give me the time I need to put together the 2012 Chill Edition, which is very time consuming and requires a lot of attention to detail.
As for this set, it is once again unapologetic commercial packed with current and future hits. Folks, one listen and you’ll swear it don’t get any better than this.
Party Favorz will be silent the rest of the month while I slowly work on the Chill Edition. Expect volume one to drop the first week of November before the elections and the second set shortly thereafter.
Pride in the ATL is coming up this weekend and Kristine W is gonna be performing. She sent an email out asking everyone with a smartphone or video camera to come out and videotape the concert for use in an upcoming video.  Should be a lot of fun if Rick and I stop killing each other. Sad to say but it’s been a non-stop bitchfest for far too long around here, which could quash my pride weekend. I was gonna make a t-shirt with my logo on it and use it in whatever video I send to her, but now not so sure.

Fall Edition 2012

With a cool clear sky morning in the ATL, I  thought it apropos to put out the 2012 Fall Edition.  In keeping with past traditions of this series, I wrestled up a HOT cowboy for your eye-candy pleasure to helm the cover art.  Yee Haw!
Originally this came out to two sets, but then I realized Gay Pride is coming up this next weekend in the city so I went back and did some serious editing to bring it down to one to give it a more upbeat feel.
Overall, I am beyond pleased with how this came out as I am certain all my circuit boys will be as well.  My new favorite tracks of the moment are the stellar Danny Verde remix of Mariah’s “Triumphant” (a song that I really don’t like) but I’ll be damned if Danny didn’t give it that kick it needed; Wayne G’s 2012 re-version of the camp classic “I Just Wanna Dance” complete with new vocals by the amazing Alison Jiear; Diva Convention’s massive floorfiller “Hearbeat” and Nelly Furtado’s latest “Parking Lot” where Wayne G once again glitter bombs the song making it a playful club floor romp.
I am about to start on the Halloween Edition this weekend, but first I gotta get myself to work. I hope life’s treating you well wherever you’re at and if not, just pop this in your pod cause it’s sure to brighten your weekend.

The Promise of a Better Life [Chill Edition]

Happy soon-to-be Friday depending on where you live LOL. As promised I am sending up the second half of the 2011 Chill Edition.
This set picks up where the last one left off and moves more in the direction of where I wanted to take it. More sound effects and more political news stories the as relevant now going into the 2012 election as they were in 2011 when it was made.
I used this second set as a benchmark for where the third one (currently in production) should and will go.  The artwork for it is complete and frankly, I think I’ve outdone myself.  You can expect to see that one at the end of October or early November.  A lot of work and preparation goes into making these types of mixes so I need all the time I can get to nail it down.
For those of you wondering what’s next in something from the clubs, you’ll be pleased to know that the Fall Edition just fell together in a day.  It is one of the easier sets I’ve done in a while.  As usual, I like to use HOT cowboys as the backdrop for the fall sets and this year is no different.  You’re in for some real eye candy pre-Halloween treats. Expect the first one next week.
October is going to be a busy busy month for Party Favorz as I still have a double set of the Halloween Edition (think electro beats), which I’ll start working on shortly followed by the final in a trilogy of Chill Editions. The World We Live In [Chill Edition]

Around this time last year, I was knee-deep in school and trying to balance my studies with this site.  I had just finished the cover art for the Fall Edition and the Halloween Edition (which will be recycled on upcoming releases because they are that good) but just couldn’t bring myself to complete the sets to accommodate the cover art.  I’d say I was definitely in a dark place at the time and ultimately shut down the site. (What does that make…three times now LOL).
After listening to them repeatedly the past week, I decided that I need to share these.  When I started collecting the songs for this, they were just a bunch of really cool slow jams.  I decided to connect them all together using sound effects. That soon evolved later in this first set to include snippets of current events. That was put to better effect by the second set coming out later this next week.
While I still have the two aforementioned (Fall, Halloween) sets to get to work on, I’ve decided to go ahead and tackle a new third set in this series.  No doubt, this election year has been an abundant resource of new material and with the slamming songs I’ve already compiled, should be a real eye-opener.
It’s cathartic to work on these and I seriously hope some of you can appreciate the amount of work that went into these because it’s a bitch and not like anything I’ve ever done before. I know this is not what you folks come here for, but it’s time to evolve. Besides, I’m probably only good for one of these a year.

Grade A House

The weekend is here and that makes it an excellent time for some booty bumping grade A house!  I took a little bit of a turn with this set; instead of drowning it with a bunch of filtered disco (of which there is plenty to be sure), I smothered it with some fabulous vocal house and sprinkled a couple of left-fielders to top it off.
Overall, I’m really pleased with this set which has been road-tested; smartphone tested and home stereo tested. It past in all areas of sound, song choice and get high marks for best all around.  Then again, all of my sets go through that rigorous testing.  If they miss any of those benchmarks, then it’s back to the drawing board until they get high marks and my stamp of approval.  What can I say? I put a lot into each and every set and don’t skip on overall quality just to get it out.
I hope you all enjoy this latest heaping serving of house.  I aim to please.  Next week we’ll be taking a massive detour to the realm of the unexpected before jumping into the Fall Edition.  Until then …ENJOY!

Back 2 School Volume 2

I did say this was coming very soon…he he he.  Truth is, if I sit on this for another week, I’ll end up mucking it up with other songs and then regret I didn’t leave it the way it is.  So, luck you the followers of my site, you get 2 for 1 in the course of two days.
There are a ton of great male vocals in this set; none of those whiny R&B posers or those wimpy Broadway-style singers; just good solid voices accompanied by some catchy electro.
In fact, my two new favorite songs in the world RIGHT NOW are American newcomers Imagine Dragon.  Expect their “It’s Time” single off their debut album to be all over pop radio and in the clubs.  Also, the UK's Alex Clare delivers an awesome vocal on the unlikely Jason Nevins remix of “Too Close.”
Also, be sure to check out “Come Back From San Francisco” by Cherry Cherry Boom Boom.  Okay, not the best vocal in the world but damn catchy!  Actually, CCBB is just a moniker for Martin Kierszenbaum, an Interscope Records exec who likes to dabble in music from time to time.  This ode to a former boyfriend is just pure fun.
That’s all I got for a while.  I’ve been working a buttload of hours and have been pretty sick this past week.  I had lost my voice for several days and it’s still a little strained, but it appears to be on the mend. Not sure what I’m going to do next nor do I have a time frame.  So I guess you’ll know when I post it.

Summer Edition 2012 Volume 2

Sorry for the delay, I’ve been bogged down at work and a love life that’s resembling Eva Simmons “I Don’t Like You.”  Yeah, I know, 11 years down the shitter but who’s counting?
Nevertheless, this set was a bitch to put together.  At first, I didn’t think much of the songs I had to work with and many were frankly filler.  Slowly, songs began to trickle in with the last being this morning and guess what?  I’m glad I held out because is a more than worthy slamming companion to volume 1.
Lot’s of great stuff in this set and several highlights that you WILL be hearing in the clubs if you haven’t already.  Kristine W’s “Everything I Got” is the first release off of her upcoming greatest hits compilation and it’s a floor-filling banger!  Wayne G & Shauna Jensen contribute two winners with “Give Me A Break” and the dead-on Olivia Newton-John  turn on “I Honestly Love You.”  In fact, they released an EP with these songs and other mixes + an additional worthy song.  Definitely worth your time to check out.
Scissor Sisters camp it up with “Let’s Have A Kiki,” and we also see the return of Cyndi Lauper with “Sex Is In the Heels” and Danny Verde turning in a solid progressive take of the disco-fied original.  Miss “I Will Survive” Gloria Gaynor is back in the saddle with “All the Man That I Need” and no this is not a remake of the Whitney Houston tune by the same name.  Finally, a disco favorite who got her start and first #1 at the age of 15, France Joli (think Celine Dion but now older) turns a high energy remake of the Leonard Cohen iconic classic “Hallelujah.”  This uplifting version is a real winner and a perfect way to close out the summer series.
I’m going to take a break for about two to three weeks and will likely be back by the end of the month with a back to school electro set. Until then… ENJOY!
