EDM & House Music: Party Favorz (Circuit, Funky & Dance Classics)

Party Favorz is a dance music podcast and mix series, founded by Keith (aka K j A M), that has been producing and distributing mixes since 2007.
The project’s origins trace back to 1999 in South Texas, where Keith was DJing at a gay bar. After-hours parties were a local staple, and Keith’s branded mix CDs became known as "party favorz"—a nickname that stuck.
The podcast was born by accident on a music-focused blog. Encouraged by friends, Keith’s blogging evolved into Party Favorz, a brand now connecting disco, house, EDM, and circuit trends to a global audience.
At its heart, Party Favorz is about celebration and inclusiveness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. It's about providing a soundtrack that serves any moment in your life—whether you're at the gym, poolside, or simply in need of joy.
So, crank it up and get the party started!

Mary J. Blige | The Diva Series
Tuesday Oct 19, 2010
Tuesday Oct 19, 2010
Long hailed as the "Queen of Hip-Hop Soul," Mary J. Blige is an enigma of resilience and artistic versatility. She's not only conquered the realms of R&B and pop, but she's also ventured into dance music, making her one of the most comprehensive music artists of our time. With numerous accolades and chart-topping hits to her name, her imprint on popular culture is indelible. However, her journey hasn't been a smooth ride—she's battled substance abuse, which makes her resurgence and continuing influence even more awe-inspiring.
When you think of Mary J. Blige, hits like "Family Affair" often come to mind. This classic has been given a fresh feel with the Spanish Fly remix transforming an already iconic song into a dance floor juggernaut. But Mary's dance catalog doesn't stop there. "No More Drama (Thunderpuss Remix)" and "Your Child (Junior Vasquez Remix)" quickly became massive gay anthems, proving her inclusivity and wide appeal.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdOS1pnFRgQ
Arguably, Mary's most significant crossover success is her towering hit, "Be Without You." This emotional ballad experienced a second life with the uplifiting Moto Blanco Vocal Mix, which introduced her to a whole new audience that thrives on electronic beats and soaring vocals. Her duet with the iconic Chaka Khan on "Disrespectful (Paulo & Dutkevitch Creative Mix)" is another testimony to her ability to collaborate across genres while staying true to her musical roots.
The struggle with substance abuse could have marred Mary J. Blige's story, but instead, it adds another layer of depth to her persona. Her openness about her addiction and the struggle to overcome it has helped end the stigma often associated with substance abuse. Her recovery has not just been a personal victory but also an inspiration for countless fans who've been through similar hardships.
In a society that often tries to pigeonhole artists, Mary J. Blige stands as a multi-faceted gem. From her ground-breaking influence on R&B and pop to her lesser-known but significant contributions to the dance music arena, Mary is a living testament to the transformative power of music.
Her lasting impact on the music industry, her meaningful engagement with social issues, and her personal struggles and triumphs are what make Mary J. Blige more than a diva; they make her an icon. She has taken each phase of her career and each personal setback as an opportunity to grow, proving that the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is a dance floor diva in her own right.
If for no other reason than her just being Mary, she's rightfully earned her place in our exclusive Diva Hall of Fame.

Sunday Sep 26, 2010
Ah, here we are—the grand finale in our explorative series delving into the euphoric landscape of 90s House Music Classics. As we prepare to put the finishing touches on this sonic odyssey, let's not forget the decade that was teeming with contrasts. While the world was engrossed in phenomena like the cloning of Dolly the Sheep and the unabating allure of "The X-Files," these distinctive house tracks were coursing through strobe-lit dance floors and echoing in the hearts of midnight revelers. Let's journey one last time into epic dance music podcast series that serves as a fitting coda to the compelling '90s era.
Opus III "It's A Fine Day"
The ethereal vocals of Kirsty Hawkshaw serve as the linchpin for "It's A Fine Day," masterfully intertwining with an electro-hip beat that catapults the listener into a surreal soundscape. This Opus III classic transcended the boundaries of conventional 90s House Music, injecting a dose of trance vibes that made the track an unforgettable auditory experience.
Judy Cheeks - As Long As You're Good To Me (Love To Infinity's Classic Paradise Club Mix)
"As Long As You're Good To Me" by Judy Cheeks was an oasis in 1995's tumultuous landscape. Love To Infinity's remix infused the track with euphoric synths and pulsating rhythms, lifting club-goers into a momentary bliss. While the year buzzed with social and technological shifts, this song offered an island of serenity, its catchy refrain becoming a de facto mantra for the dancefloor community.
Clubland feat. Quartz - Let's Get Busy (Pump It Up) (The G Mix)
Clubland teams up with Quartz to bring us "Let's Get Busy (Pump It Up)" in The G Mix—a frenetic concoction that left a lasting impact on the dance scene. Packed with pulsating beats and a groove-laden synth line, this classic will transport you straight back to the frenzied energy of 90s dance floors.
Inner City - Pennies From Heaven (Norty Boy Mix)
Inner City's "Pennies From Heaven" in the Norty Boy Mix is a voyage into sonic splendor. With captivating vocal arrangements and immersive beats, this track epitomized what it meant to be a 90s House anthem, creating an aural experience that effortlessly turned listeners into devout followers.
Sandy B - Make The World Go 'Round (Deep Dish Vocal Mix)
In an era of musical experimentation, Sandy B's "Make The World Go 'Round" brought something special to the table. The Deep Dish Vocal Mix took this anthem to new heights with its intricate harmonies and subversive beats, offering an intoxicating musical blend that still resonates with today's audiences.
Madonna - Deeper And Deeper (Shep's Deep Makeover Mix)
Never one to shy away from innovation, Madonna's "Deeper And Deeper" was radically transformed by Shep's Deep Makeover Mix. This track stripped away the pop essence, replacing it with a hypnotic beat structure and lavish strings, epitomizing the transformative power of the remix culture inherent to 90s House Music Classics.
Soul II Soul - Keep On Movin' (Original Mix)
Finally, we can't overlook the blissful “Keep On Movin'” by Soul II Soul. An original mix that embodied the soulful aura of 90s house music. Its jazz-infused beats and laid-back tempo gave it a timeless quality that transcends eras, earning its spot as one of the true 90s House Music Classics.
From Opus III’s ethereal tones to Soul II Soul’s enduring beats, this playlist showcases the compelling intricacies and emotive depths of 90s House Music Classics. It's a sonic canvas that painted the decade with hues of rhythm and harmony, reflecting the broader cultural shifts of the time. 90s House Music Classics Volume 6: Keep On Jumpin’
Sunday Sep 26, 2010
Sunday Sep 26, 2010
As our nostalgic journey continues through this multi-part series, let’s not forget that 1995 was the year when the Oklahoma City bombing shocked the nation, and the O.J. Simpson trial captivated our collective attention. But on a lighter note, Microsoft released Windows 95, and the Sony PlayStation made its U.S. debut. Yet, the echo of 90s House Music Classics provided the sonic backdrop that made the era unforgettable.
Mariah Carey: Emotions (12'' Club Mix)
When Mariah Carey released "Emotions," it was a defining moment. The track, embedded in the David Morales remix, had the vocals soaring higher than the U.S. box office numbers of Toy Story in 1995. The blend of Carey's vocal range with the beat creates a sublime synergy, still making it a dancefloor essential.
49ers: Don't You Love Me (90's Mix)
This song is an interesting outlier. The 49ers managed to juxtapose elements of techno with classic house in "Don't You Love Me," just when Friends made its TV debut and started redefining friendship norms. This song may not have a Ross and Rachel saga, but its pulsating rhythm and evergreen allure still keep feet moving on dance floors today.
Clubhouse: Deep In My Heart (American 12'' Mix)
Clubhouse's "Deep In My Heart" could almost be the soundtrack of 1996, a year that saw the infamous Unabomber captured and the Spice Girls claiming "Girl Power" with their hit "Wannabe." But in the middle of it all, this number offered a profound, bass-heavy reflection of the deeper strains of house music.
D-Mob with Cathy Dennis: That's The Way Of The World (12'' Version)
This is a vital track that merged Cathy Dennis's unique vocal style with D-Mob's creative prowess. The song emerged at a time when the first Harry Potter book was published in the UK. Both the book and the song offered escape, but while Harry Potter invited us to a magical world, "That’s The Way Of The World" provided an escape on the dance floor.
Carleen Anderson: Mama Said (K-Klassic Mix)
In 1997, Tiger Woods amazed us with his Masters win at Augusta, but Carleen Anderson's "Mama Said" was winning the hearts of club-goers. Her voice, coupled with K-Klassic Mix's production finesse, made it a sterling example of house music done right.
Sounds Of Blackness: I Believe (Classic Gospel Mix)
Blending gospel with house music, this track was a spiritual awakening at the apex of the Y2K hysteria. The Classic Gospel Mix gave it an ethereal dimension, offering a musical refuge as we braced for the millennium.
Madonna: Secret (Junior’s Luscious Club Mix)
By the time Madonna’s “Secret” rolled out in its Junior's Luscious Club Mix, the Lewinsky scandal had shocked America. Yet, in Madonna’s quintessential style, the song offered a hidden escape—a confessional dance-floor rendezvous.

90s House Music Classics Volume 5: Turn It Out
Sunday Sep 26, 2010
Sunday Sep 26, 2010
Continuing our exploration of the music that punctuated decades, let's set our time machines to the '90s—a time when the internet was a fledgling tool, Michael Jordan was an unstoppable force on the basketball court, and shows like "Friends" and "Seinfeld" were painting our TV screens. But what was really electrifying people globally were the pulsating beats of 90s House Music Classics.
LaBelle - Turn It Out (Shep's Totally Turnt Out Dub 2 Anthem)
In 1995, while O.J. Simpson was declared "not guilty," LaBelle captivated dance floors with "Turn It Out." Shep Pettibone's "Totally Turnt Out Dub 2 Anthem" took an already energetic tune to stratospheric heights. LaBelle's vocal range perfectly harmonized with the transformative remix, making it a staple in nightclubs.
Judy Cheeks - Respect (Classic Club Mix)
Cut to 1996. The Macarena was something everyone—at least once—tried to dance to, whether at a wedding or reluctantly at a high school gym. But within the sanctuaries of house music, Judy Cheeks was demanding "Respect." The Classic Club Mix uplifted the track with groovy basslines, presenting a gutsier version that became an empowerment anthem for many.
Jennifer Holliday - No Frills Love (Classic Paradise 12'' Mix)
Ah, 1996—a year when the world held its breath watching Kerri Strug's one-footed vault landing at the Atlanta Olympics. It was the same year Jennifer Holliday released "No Frills Love." The "Classic Paradise 12'' Mix" turned this cut into a definitive anthem, transforming it into something far more robust than your run-of-the-mill love song. At a time when people sought narratives of triumph, this song's heady mix of vocals and rhythm offered its own kind of victory.
Happy Clappers - I Believe (12'' Master)
Rewind a bit to 1995, a year that brought us the iconic, though controversial, verdict in the O.J. Simpson trial. Amidst the national debates and TV drama, Happy Clappers were making waves in a different way with their song "I Believe." The 12'' Master version served as a refuge, providing an irresistible groove that prompted listeners to believe in something better, if only for the length of a song.
Hannah Jones - You Only Have To Say You Love Me (Eric Kupper Mix)
In the tempest of 1997, a year that saw the world mourning the loss of Princess Diana and simultaneously tuning into the debut of "South Park," Hannah Jones offered solace with "You Only Have To Say You Love Me." Remixed by Eric Kupper, the song provided an emotional compass at a time when cultural sentiments were swinging wildly between sorrow and irreverence. Kupper's mix, nuanced and eloquent, lent a soulfulness to Hannah Jones' impassioned vocals—creating an anthem that resonated in nightclubs and quiet moments alike. As with other 90s House Music Classics, this track proved that even in turbulent times, music could offer the sort of reassurance that was sometimes hard to find elsewhere.
These songs didn't just represent a genre; they shaped the identity of a generation navigating through cultural milestones. They offered solace, they incited joy, and most of all, they united people on the dance floor regardless of their backgrounds.
