EDM & House Music: Party Favorz (Circuit, Funky & Dance Classics)

Party Favorz is a dance music podcast and mix series, founded by Keith (aka K j A M), that has been producing and distributing mixes since 2007.
The project’s origins trace back to 1999 in South Texas, where Keith was DJing at a gay bar. After-hours parties were a local staple, and Keith’s branded mix CDs became known as "party favorz"—a nickname that stuck.
The podcast was born by accident on a music-focused blog. Encouraged by friends, Keith’s blogging evolved into Party Favorz, a brand now connecting disco, house, EDM, and circuit trends to a global audience.
At its heart, Party Favorz is about celebration and inclusiveness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. It's about providing a soundtrack that serves any moment in your life—whether you're at the gym, poolside, or simply in need of joy.
So, crank it up and get the party started!

Gay Pride Edition 2010 Volume 6
Sunday Jun 20, 2010
Sunday Jun 20, 2010
In an effort to get things back on track and wrap up on Thursday of this next week, I’m sending up v6 of the Pride Edition and what a whopper this one is! I’m talking, about bodies movin’, non-stop groovin’, asses shakin’, floors are breakin’, queens are freakin’, hoe's are creepin’, divas flowin’, everybody knows it’s time to STAND UP and put your hands to the sky! AHH HELL YEAH!
Sorry, I just get a little carried away, but this mix of almost all brand-spanking new circuit beats gave me a hard-on that has lasted for days! There IS some seriously deep, dark. progressive, tribalicious sh!t going on here. Hopefully, I haven’t cut the pending Summer Edition tracklist to bring you these fresh new cuts for your Pride consumption. Then again, you know me, K j A M always delivers the goods, so I’m confident I’ll be able to work that out when the time comes.
Kicking things off is the oft-time flaky hysterics of Sir Ivan. After last fall’s Kumbaya, I thought this guy’s shtick had pretty much bottomed out and I was pretty hesitant to even listen to his latest Hare Krishna. I’m glad I did because Tony really hit it with his production and delivers the goods like he hasn’t done in some time. I guess it just goes to show that money can buy you fame, even if it’s for 15 minutes or so.
This is followed by some heavy hitters like Tim Letteer’s Broke Free and Gustavo Scorpio’s private mix of Kelis’ Acapella. Keep an eye out for Gustavo, because his mixes that he’s been floating around the net, just keep getting better and better. Another one to look out for is the San Francisco hottie, Jamie J. Sanchez. No doubt, he’s been working hard to tighten up his productions. After this spring’s take on Nasty Boy by Jipsta, along with his own Lift Me Up featuring Ria Spencer and his amazing re-work of Heaven by John LePage and Debby Holiday, Jamie is bound and determined to make an even bigger name for himself. Keep this up and I see superstar DJ in his future.
Another song I’ve been getting sweaty balls over is Zayra’s V.I.P. Some of you may remember her turn on on the reality program Rockstar Supernova. Well, she’s back and readying an album entitled Baby Likes to Bang for a late August release. This first single is simply delicious as it takes a swipe at the Hilton’s and the rest of their Martha’s Vineyard ilk. With DJ Paulo doing the remix honors, expect to be hearing this song all over the place this summer; especially with Dave Aude and Mike Rizzo on board for additional remix honors.
Max Sanna and Steve Pitron deliver a deeper and more progressive take on Kelly Rowland’s Commander, while Ronnie Maze teams up with the in-demand Corey Andrew for the tearjerker Again. I left out the spoken word portion of the song since we don’t need any of you balling like a sissy during your workout while thinking about the one that got away.
Having previously overlooked the Chus and Ceballos re-work of Not Myself Tonight, I gave it a second chance and for good reason. This IS the best mix of this song to date. No offense to Jody, whose work continues to astound me, but these masters of tribal took the song in a completely different direction that works on so many levels, I had to give them props.
Offer Nissim showcases a much-needed change in direction, and it works! Teaming up with Nikka, The One & Only is a terrific slice of what’s sure to come from this Israeli mixmaster.
Filipe Guerra and Lorena Simpson deliver their latest Breathe Again, with Tommy Love doing the remix honors. I listened over and over to the bevy of remixes that accompanied this #1 Masterbeat tune, and Tommy really delivers the bang for the buck. As much as possible, I’ve been shying away from typical circuit styled productions that sound like the DJ slapped an acapella over the same tribal beats they used for their last ten mixes. While I won’t mention any names, gentlemen it’s time to step up your game. You can’t keep riding the same beat over and over....

Gay Pride Edition 2010 Volume 5
Thursday Jun 17, 2010
Thursday Jun 17, 2010
I’m serving up the second of Gay Pride BPM style. Once again, some of the biggest and best electro-pop of 2010 so far. Don’t have much to say today as I had a pretty rough night. For whatever reason, I have selected today as the first day of the rest of my life. That’s right, I quit smoking. So far, I’m handling that well, but last night’s toss, tumble, and poop, which repeated itself at least three times and kept me up all night, has really taken its toll on me. I should be heading to the gym shortly, but instead, I think I’ll just head back to bed. I am seriously drained at the moment.
I’ll be back on Friday with the third installment of Gay Anthems; until then…enjoy!

Tuesday Jun 15, 2010
Happy hotter than HELL Tuesday everybody! I feel like the wicked witch of the west because I’m melting, I’m melting! In keeping with the “hot” theme, I’m bringing you volume 4 of this year’s Pride series. Replete with lip-smacking circuit anthems and one that will soon be (Strobelight), this set is certain to melt that lithium battery in your iPod. From start to finish, these are some of the best mainstream vocal anthems that have made your feet move and ass shake in 2010.
I’ve got the gym and then some meetings to attend, so I’m gonna have to keep this brief. I’ve been trying out all sorts of different options for sharing these posts and the commenting section as well. Ultimately, I’ve settled on DISQUS since it’s the best service that integrates into Blogger and all the major social networks. That doesn’t mean it’s without problems. Currently, you can only comment on posts that contain “read after the jump.” Single page posts do not have the commenting ability on them. I am currently working with DISQUS to hopefully get this resolved as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you can still post your remarks in the chat box located in the upper left-hand corner of the site.
See, that wasn’t so painful, was it? I hope everyone is enjoying the warmer (hotter) weather, depending on where you’re at in the world. I’ll be back on Thursday with volume 5. Until then, enjoy!

Gay Pride Edition 2010 Volume 3
Friday Jun 11, 2010
Friday Jun 11, 2010
Welcome to Friday’s edition of Pride. As promised, I’m serving up a heaping platter of happy house music. Unlike the Original and the BPM, there’s not quite as much “happy” music that comes out early in the year. After all, it’s still snowing and bitterly cold in most parts of the world, so I guess it’s hard for producers to get into that frame of mind early on. Frankly, if they did, they’d save a lot of people from cabin fever. We could just sit underneath a fluorescent light, soaking in the rays, while listening to something that reminds us of what’s to come later in the year, summer.
Nevertheless, I’ve extracted the best of the disco, funky and camp from my previous T-Dance sets and bulked up the remainder with brand-spanking new tunes that’ll make you glad you held out for the fun, sun, and beaches. I’m talking celebratory, hands in the air, makes you feel so good early Sunday morning dance music!
Kicking things off, I pulled out one of my favorite songs of the year. Hot on the heels of last year’s “Runaway,” which sat in Juno’s funky house Top Fifty for over ten months since it’s release last summer, DJ Kid Stretch pulls another favorite out of his arsenal with “Give U More.” This song is packed with so many samples, that it’s hard for me to keep up; and honey, I am the queen of samples. The one you will recognize is the undeniable big voice of Loleatta hollering in the background.
I’ve got two, count them two brand new Peyton singles. The first is a collaboration with Eric Kupper called “Celebrate.” Just in time for Pride, Peyton is talking about celebrating his life. As out and proud as we are this season, we should be singing right along with him. The other is a new song in collaboration with the UK hottie, Wayne G. I gave everyone a taste of “Ur the Best Thing” on Gay Days v1 and now here comes the original version, in it’s full blown soulful glory. For all those that have been searching for the one true love and found it, this one’s for you. If you haven’t found that special someone just yet, don’t fret, I’m fairly certain they’ll wash up on a beach for you to take home, after a long night of partying.
I’ve also sneaked in our girl Kimberley Locke who was recently featured in the G-Spot, with her brand new discolicious single “Strobelight.” Speaking of disco, how about three classic remakes? First off is the 1979 classic “You Know How to Love Me,” originally performed by Phyllis Hyman (may she rest in peace). As part of the Fierce Angel group, Soraya Vivian does the vocal duties and boy oh boy, does she hit this one out of the park! In fact, I fell so in love with her take, I added her again on part two of this Pride Edition and for now, that treat will remain a surprise. Let’s just say she has quickly become a contender and is right up there with Katherine Ellis as the next Party Favorz girl. Once you hear her voice, you too will become a believer!
Next up is the totally unexpected remake of the Anita Ward classic “Ring My Bell.” When I got the promos, I clicked the play button with hesitation. How could anyone possibly top this monster classic from 1979? One listen and I was blown away! FAMA pours everything into this song and completely breathes new life into something that I would have never in a million years thought to touch. I absolutely love, LOVE the DeepCitySoul Mix, but wait there’s more! The remix package also includes amazing renditions by Richard Earnshaw and Richie Jones. Unfortunately, the label is holding out on those, because they only included the radio edits. I fully expect a second release containing the full-length version of those two later next month; hopefully in time for Beach House.
Finally, in the disco realm, Eric Kupper and Cathi O deliver “Haven’t You Heard.” With its familiar catchy refrain, this song had immediate gravitational pull. The only problem was that I couldn’t figure out who originally sang this song. In fact,

Gay Pride Edition 2010 Volume 2
Wednesday Jun 09, 2010
Wednesday Jun 09, 2010
Moving into volume 2 of the Pride Edition, Party Favorz is bringing in some of the finest electro-pop of the year. I kept this on the mainstream side, with some definite heavy hitters and you can expect more of the same on the second part of this BPMesque edition to be released sometime next week. I’ll be following up with a happy house set on Friday and the second installment of Gay Anthems on Sunday. I wasn’t kidding when I said I’ll fill your iPods up in June because this goes on until we get to the official Pride celebrations in San Francisco and New York on the weekend of the 27th.
The City of Angels is having their 40th Anniversary of Pride this weekend with a HUGE appearance by NOH8. In fact, the campaign is inviting EVERYONE to join them in the parade on June 13th. So if you want to be part of something historic, head on over to https://www.noh8campaign.com/event/march-in-the-la-pride-parade-with-noh8-updated to get all the details for making your mark. Be out, be proud, we are on the verge of something REALLY BIG and what better way to tell your grandchildren, that you were a part of it.
Many of you that live in and around the ATL, already know that once again our Pride festivities have been pushed into early October. Last year it was over Halloween weekend and this year it’s been moved up to the weekend of National Coming Out Day. Originally from Texas, I’m used to the Pride celebrations taking place in June, which is symbolic of the historic Stonewall Riots in New York, on June 28, 1969. First, we were banned from the Piedmont Park because of the drought. Now that’s it’s rained so much you could fill a thousand Perez Hilton potholes and still have enough left over to water the park for 20 years, they’re still using “protecting the park” as an excuse. Kind of reminds of the whole “protect the children” angle right wingnuts use against Marriage Equality. “What about the children” or “What about the grass” egh! Last time I checked, sod is pretty damn cheap. In fact, recently there was a huge billboard just off of 85-N advertising it. I don’t know what else you could possibly be protecting. After all, isn’t the park there for everyone to enjoy, not just look at? In my opinion, the Pride committee is just pandering to a well-heeled older crowd, that just happen to be its biggest donors. Obviously, early October provides more ‘acceptable’ temperatures for them to be out and about. Sweetie, if you can’t take the heat, stay home and let everyone else enjoy Hell’s Kitchen. I know, I know Pride can pretty much be celebrated anytime. However, considering that the ATL was just voted the “gayest” city in the United States and President Obama just designated June as National LGBT Month, why is it that this city can’t live up to its reputation as the leading gay megatropolis in the southeast? Since I’m not on the committee, I’ll digress and let them do whatever they need to, in order to fill their coffers. At the end of the day, the ATL has been my adopted home since 2001 and I absolutely love it here; so I have no other choice but to accept the things I can’t change.
Now that doesn’t mean that everyone else can’t get their Pride on, which is why I continue to focus on bringing you the best in Pride this month and every year. Even though this is only my third year doing this online, I’ve actually been doing this since 1999, which feels like an eternity! So get up, stand up and be counted. Which reminds me; did you fill out the Census form? Honey, if that thing is still laying around, fill it out and drop it in the mail. Trust me, they’ll still take it. Make sure you mark “gay” as your status and include your significant other as well. That’s just another way of letting the government know we’re here, we’re queer, DEAL WITH IT!
That’s about all I have for today. I’m pretty sure I’ll climb up on my soapbox once again in an upcoming post. For now, stay safe, use a condom and have fun!

Gay Pride Edition 2010 Volume 1
Monday Jun 07, 2010
Monday Jun 07, 2010
It’s the time of year again! The time when we come together as one and celebrate our lives and our freedoms like only our community can. We have had some small victories this year, but still not near enough to equalize us within American society. As you can see, this year’s theme involves a relatively new organization called Get Equal, which will hopefully serve as a constant reminder of what we are fighting for. This group has moved the discussion from just politely asking for our civil rights, to the streets in protest and demanding them. While there has been considerable debate as to the effectiveness of their tactics, I for one commend and welcome them. I do believe there is room for a variety of methods in gaining full equality for GLBT folks and this is just one more that can be used in our arsenal.
Nevertheless, there has been some heated discussions going on in various sites about the best way to present ourselves, our demands and our desire to be out, open and honest about our lives. Personally, I truly dislike asking for something that should be rightfully ours. On the other hand, I understand the need to be diplomatic and go through channels to achieve success. However, Get Equal is only a few months old and I believe they will eventually hit on a strategy of disobedience that will be effective and garner mainstream attention, all the while putting pressure on those would be supporters in Congress and the POTUS to do the right thing. We have a majority now, but won’t after the upcoming mid-term elections. If anyone thinks for one second, that a Republican-controlled Congress is going to bend over backward for us, you are sadly mistaken. Therefore, the race is on for us to achieve as much as politically possible between now and the elections.
As we wait for the decision on Perry v. Schwarzenegger later this month, regardless of the outcome, it will ultimately wind its way up to the SCOTUS for consideration. Until then, there are other things like ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) and DADT (Don’t Ask Don’t Tell) that can be won now and all methods of ensuring success this year must be used if we are going to have some real victories. Lend your time, your body, your money or whatever you have to help us win the fight. Every little bit helps.
You can find out more about the work that Get Equal is involved with here.
In the meantime, I’m serving up the first of seven, count them seven podcasts for your Pride celebrations. Coming off the heels of the most recent BPM and Gay Days Editions, I decided to go back and revisit 2010 and bring back some of the biggest and best dance songs that have been moving everyone from east to west this year. I also dropped in a brand spanking newbie in the follow-up circuit-styled set and an entire set of all new songs on the third. The BPM version has nothing new, just smoking hot mainstream electro-pop hits of 2010, and the T-Dance version of Pride is a combination of songs from this year and a slew of brand new discofunkyhappyhouse that’s guaranteed to put smiles on everyone’s face.
Keep in mind, I will be alternating these with the Gay Anthems for premium subscribers only, which will be a one-time offering good until July 4th, when they will be put to rest indefinitely.
Without further ado, ladies and gentleman, queers, queens and rainbow-colored jellybeans, I bring you Pride 2010! Enjoy!!!

Gay Days Edition 2010 Volume 3

When I worked for AT&T, it was my job to handle complaints, 95% of which were simply frivolous. I did it because I was paid to do it. However, at $5 a month for an average of 6 podcast's, doesn’t give anyone the right to bitch, whine, moan and complain on a regular basis. I don’t get paid to do this and as I stated before, the money I receive goes right back into this site. Considering I easily spend $200+ each month on music, artwork, hosting, not to mention a shitload of time and effort putting all this stuff together, you’d think I could catch a break. Instead, several of you just fill my email box with one gripe after another and frankly, I’ve had it. It’s one thing if something is wrong or a file is missing, it’s entirely another to question my motives for how I choose to market this site or to constantly barrage me with idiotic questions that already have an answer in the FAQ section. At the end of the day, my hobby has turned into a full-time job and is no longer fun.
As promised, I’ve uploaded the two remaining Gay Days podcasts and the final BPM Edition of the Volume 5 series. You will have until June 5th to download the sets before this site goes dark.
I’ve also decided not to allow a handful of loose screws to ruin the Pride month that I had planned. So, I’ve decided that I will go forward with the Pride podcasts and it will only be available to those that have graciously supported my efforts. The private site will be on a new host as I am dropping Blogger and Podbean altogether. Meaning, everything that is currently available, will no longer be after June 5th. I will be sending out invitations to download the Pride editions once they are posted and depending on the available space with my new host, I may even throw in a few previously available goodies that many of you have been asking for.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO LOG INTO PAY PAL AND CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. I don’t suggest you cancel it until after you have downloaded all of the current podcasts you want, as I believe the system will prevent access to them once your subscription is canceled and I will not be making these available due to human error, nor will I be issuing refunds. You will NOT need to have a paid subscription for the Pride mixes coming out later in June. Those are simply a gift to my current subscribers ONLY.
Ever since my email account got hijacked this past weekend, I’ve been having a lot of undeliverable emails. So, I suggest you add info@partyfavorz.net to your address book because this will be a one-time invitation for Pride month. Any decisions I make about the future of Party Favorz will be made by the end of June and right now, it’s not looking good. In addition, I will be removing myself from Facebook permanently and I just want to ensure that everyone gets this message prior to the deletion of my account tomorrow.
At this point, I’m tired and I need a break. I’ll be sending out invites by mid-June. It’s been swell.

Gay Days Edition 2010 Volume 1
Wednesday May 26, 2010

I feel like I just ran a marathon. In two weeks, I’ve managed to create a new site, which is pretty kick-ass if you haven’t checked it out yet https://www.bpmedition.com, I’ve churned out six podcasts, backed up my computer and reformatted and re-installed everything after my email account got hijacked. So far, I’ve managed to keep my cool with a couple bitchy subscribers that are pissed because of the spin-off of the BPM series and a couple of egotistical wannabe DJs, who haven’t the slightest idea how to promote their work, other than make fanboy mixes of their favorite divas, instead of making something original and spectacular that has the potential to go viral. That my little adolescent children are how you make a name for yourself. Ignore me at your own peril and you’ll be stuck doing this for another ten years until you figure it all out for yourselves. Believe it or not, I’m actually in a fantastic mood. So, I’ll give myself a pat on the back for the aforementioned accomplishments and move on from there.
I want to remind my premium subscribers that I sent an email out this past week with your password giving you access the new BPM Edition premium content through the end of June. I don’t plan on doing a bunch of promotion for the site, but felt it was necessary to spin off because of the universal appeal of the electro-pop and progressive house mixes contained in the series. I assure you, I wasn’t trying to bilk you out of additional money, rather bring more people on board. If you didn’t receive it, check your spam box first. If you still can’t find it, then email me and I’ll reset it for you. Keep in mind, this IS a totally new site with new feeds and the instructions for downloading through iTunes are on the site.
I have court later today for that damn car accident and need to maintain my reserve for talking down the ticket price. With a new car payment and higher insurance premiums, I can’t afford any new financial liabilities, so I’ll keep this brief as I only know how to [grin].
With the upcoming Memorial Day weekend holiday and the slew of circuit events around the country, including the infamous Splash! in Austin, Texas; I wanted to make sure everyone had their party favorz in order before heading out for the weekend. I’ve got two smoking hot sets between now and Friday, with the final one going up on Saturday. If you’ve already taken off, no matter, Gay Days Disney is coming the following weekend and you’ll already have everything you need to be lined up by then.
As we all know, Memorial Day weekend kicks off a month of everything queer. By that I mean, a slew of Pride events throughout the country. Party Favorz has long since taken up the Pride mantle to share and spread the love of this time-honored tradition. In honor of the month-long occasion, I will be providing some of the hottest podcasts with the best club mixes so far this year. Think of it as a “Catching Up with 2010” the Pride Edition. Speaking of which, I’ll also be doing that for the BPM Edition, but without the Pride tagline or the hot bodies for cover art.
So hang on to your seats, June is going to be a very GAY month for one and all! I’ll be back on Friday with part two of this series and Saturday with the final installment.
Until then, ENJOY!

BPM Edition 2010 Volume 5 | Take 2
Tuesday May 25, 2010

I’m serving up the 2nd installment of v5. This set is chock full of underground delights with a smattering of mainstream electro-pop to help keep it grounded. I still have the final volume coming out later this week and many of you will be pleased to know that both are OTH. Meaning, they’re free, gratis, complimentary or more commonly referred to around here as, On The House! I decided that with the new site and new people just arriving, what better way to show off what it’s about than to allow you to sample the cuisine. Think of it like a sample platter.
Keep in mind, several of the series this year have at least one OTH mix for you to check out and everything prior to 2010 is OTH as well. Once again, I don’t have a lot of time to go into the mix, so I’ll just let it speak for itself.
If you like what you hear, please leave me a note and say so. Likewise, if you have any suggestions as to how I can improve the site, please feel free to throw your two cents in.
I’ll be back later in the week with the final installment. Until then, enjoy!
