EDM & House Music: Party Favorz (Circuit, Funky & Dance Classics)

Party Favorz is a dance music podcast and mix series, founded by Keith (aka K j A M), that has been producing and distributing mixes since 2007.
The project’s origins trace back to 1999 in South Texas, where Keith was DJing at a gay bar. After-hours parties were a local staple, and Keith’s branded mix CDs became known as "party favorz"—a nickname that stuck.
The podcast was born by accident on a music-focused blog. Encouraged by friends, Keith’s blogging evolved into Party Favorz, a brand now connecting disco, house, EDM, and circuit trends to a global audience.
At its heart, Party Favorz is about celebration and inclusiveness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. It's about providing a soundtrack that serves any moment in your life—whether you're at the gym, poolside, or simply in need of joy.
So, crank it up and get the party started!

I apologize for the delay, but I’ve been really busy working on the site and trying to get all the back-end stuff fixed after Google left me out for dry. No need to worry, this doesn’t concern most of you that have been following this site for a long while. It mainly concerns those that are just now coming on board, and by the looks of it, there are many PF newbies!
In the meantime, I’m serving up a platter of deep, dark and delicious house music with a side of hot sauce to keep it extra spicy. In fact, the majority of this set is pretty much peak hour, big room madness that explores the darker side of the progressive movement, while keeping the hooks aplenty!
The first three songs come at you like a ton of bricks. Mr. Malo’s remake of the 1988 hi-nrg classic “S-Express” and Hi-Tack’s production of the 1999 Trance classic “Out of the Blue” by System F stay true to the originals while updating the sound for today’s floors. The latter is nothing short of sweeping, majestic pleasure recalling the original with layer upon layer of thick heavy synths.
Since we’re on the remake kick I also dropped the Ultra Nate 90’s big house classic “Free.” You may remember the breezy, bouncy Bob Sinclar take on my recent T-Dance Edition; well Teo Moss and Daniel Shems take the progressive route and deliver something new and fresh. I was thinking the other day that I may very well expedite Ultra through the nomination process and honor her by inducting her into the Diva Hall of Fame. Stay tuned.
Every few years, Ish Ledesma of the late 70s group Foxy (Get Off), takes his late 80s girl group Company B and remixes one of their hits. Over the years, “Fascination” has definitely had its share, including a complete re-work by the fabulous Suzanne Palmer. However, none of them ever really stood out for me; that is until now. Veteran DJ/producer Giuseppe D. had the good sense to keep the hooks of the original while giving it that Millennium punch it desperately needed. On the opposite end, Players Please deliver an unlikely progressive rendering of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “The Power of Love.” Deep, very dark and definitely delicious!
Toni Braxton’s latest “Make My Heart” get’s a series of re-works courtesy of Atlanta records, her current label. None of the original three that were sent out as promos made the final cut. Instead, they went with other producers to promote this release. Shame, because I am totally in love with the Behrouz remix, which is why I kept it in the set. Regardless, their choices were still outstanding and you can expect the Alexander and Mark VDH production to be hitting up the Spring Edition.
Another BIG winner for me is “Ready For the Fight” by the always unpredictable Young Punx. While there is a big electro remix by Wes Clarke, it’s all about the Gramaphonedzie (Marko Milicevic) remix for me.
Frankly, I think this entire set is one giant masterpiece of late night mayhem and I’m certain you’ll agree. As promised, this one is OTH. I’ll be taking the rest of the week off to give myself a break and allow you folks to digest everything that has already been posted this year. I should be back the following week with the first two of a year-long project I will be starting “Chrome: Millennium Edition (the First 10 Years). It also appears that the Spring Edition will make an early appearance this year and of course I’m already lining ‘em up for the next T-Dance set, which by all accounts is shaping up to be pretty darn funky.
That’s all I got for today. It’s hump day, so time to start thinking about the weekend. After all, it’s all downhill from here! I’ll be back next week.
Until then, ENJOY!

Before I get into this current set, I thought I would discuss some issues about the Fan Page https://www.facebook.com/partyfavorz that have been brought to my attention. Several of you have indicated that you couldn’t access it via Facebook. The only thing I can think of is that my privacy settings were locked down. I’ve since lifted the restrictions and hopefully, that will no longer be an issue. You can always click on the “info” tab in my profile which has a link to the Fan Page, or you can access it via my site https://www.partyfavorz.net/, where I have a badge in the right-hand column. For those that haven’t signed up for the Fan Page, whatcha waitin’ for? Whenever I post to my site, it will automatically be updated on my Fan Page and Twitter + I also send out an email to ensure receipt.
I have also added several tabs on my site that I think will answer a lot of your questions. There is a “premium” tab which details how the site works, there is an “iTunes” tab with very specific instructions (including pictures) on how to download my podcasts via the service. That’s important for subscribers to the premium service. Since there are two feeds on my site; one for the “free” podcasts and the other for “premium” you will need to add both in iTunes to ensure you get everything.
I also added an FAQ section which has everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. It answers virtually all questions about my site, including downloading, subscribing, RSS updates, email updates, how premium works including passwords and problems new users may encounter getting it to work. It’s all there. For those that prefer not to read, that’s fine, I’ll be more than happy to answer your question via email. Just remember, I can’t be a slave to my computer so my response may not be as forthcoming as you might like, but I WILL get back to you. Odds are, your question has already been answered in the FAQ section, so give it a try first.
Since I’ve expended much of my capital on information about the site, I’ll just let this mix speak for itself. It’s much in the same vein of the previous set with some seriously smoking tunes all wrapped up in a neat little package that falls just under 80 minutes for the CD burners amongst you.
It’s yet another fabulous day in the ATL and I am so looking forward to getting out and enjoying it. I’ll try to make it back tomorrow for the final set (which is on the house) before taking a week off to work on some other projects, including the finalization of the Millennium series that I plan on rolling out in two weeks. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and as always, ENJOY!

BPM Edition 2010 Volume 2 | Take 1
Friday Mar 05, 2010
Friday Mar 05, 2010
As the days just keep getting better, so does the need to P-A-R-T-Y like it’s 2010! In keeping with that theme, I’m serving up volume 2 of the BPM Edition.
Kicking things off is the latest from Lifehouse. While we all know this group as the mainstay of Top 40 meat and potatoes rock, their latest effort stays true to their roots, with hooks aplenty. Jody Den Broeder takes a shot at it and delivers a surprisingly delicious dance production that even I had to take notice.
We also get Adam Lambert’s second release with the Pink-penned tune “Whataya Want From Me” with Fonzerelli doing the remix honors. This is just one of several great songs off of his amazing debut “For Your Entertainment.” What’s sad is that ATL pop radio frankly sucks donkey dongs. This is a city of over 11 million people and instead of being on the cutting edge, we have two pop stations that play virtually the exact same thing and don’t even put a song into rotation until it hits the top twenty. With no alternative and dance radio stations, this market is ripe for picking. As such, I have yet to hear Adam on the radio, but am tortured by Kris Allen’s relatively lame “Live Like You Were Dying.” Whateva!
It’s been a long while since we got anything new from the “Milkshake” girl Kellis, but her latest “Acapella” is simply amazing! Fantastic vocals and an amazing production by Dave Aude, this is a surefire crowd pleaser.
After the success of last year’s “Patron Tequila” by the Paradiso Girls comes the latest drinking song “Sex on the Beach” by Spanker. In fact, I think we may be seeing a trend here that will get old pretty quick. What’s next, a song about Corona? Oh wait, that’s already been done. How about Budweiser instead? Regardless, this is a fun song as is “Something Like a Party” by newcomers School Gyrls. Think Britney times 3 still pulling off the little parochial school girl look ten years later. Clearly aimed at the Ke$sha market, this too will get old.
Finally, I want to give a shout out to the UK’s Rachel Ellektra. I’m really digging a lot of her work lately and “Playing with Knives” featuring the vocals of the amazing Angie Brown is pure hard hitting house bliss! Keep an eye out for her, because you will definitely be hearing more of her work in any given club in the very near future.
That’s ‘bout all I got for today. I’ll be back tomorrow with part 2 and hopefully Sunday with the “on the house” special, part 3. Until then, enjoy!

Kim English 2010 Volume 2 | The Diva Series
Saturday Feb 27, 2010
Saturday Feb 27, 2010
Navigating the intricate landscape of spirituality, house music, and the circuit scene is no small feat, but artists like Kim English have seamlessly crossed these boundaries. With remixes by industry giants like Hex Hector, Thunderpuss, Tony Moran, Junior Vasquez, Mark Picchiotti, and Razor 'n' Guido, Kim's music has transformed into iconic club anthems.
It's a paradox that her spiritual anthems resonate in gay clubs, given her religious upbringing, which adheres to strict biblical tenets. This duality echoes the experience of Donna Summer in the early '90s. Kim herself admitted, "I feel more free [to be myself] among a gay crowd than I do at my church," yet, she's also stated, "I don't believe [homosexuality] is a lifestyle God agrees with." These conflicting statements point to a complex relationship with her gay fanbase.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GiZ8vOfsEI
This conundrum reflects a broader societal issue, as LGBTQ+ communities worldwide face increasingly hostile conditions. With draconian legislation on the horizon in places like Uganda and societal hostilities in countries like Malawi, we are witnessing a rising tide of scapegoating and potential persecution.
While I'm not a practicing Catholic, I empathize with the turmoil that comes when personal beliefs clash with longstanding teachings. The teachings of Jesus never promoted hate, and neither should anyone else. As such, I'm willing to forgive Kim's misunderstandings, but the ball is in her court—can she reciprocate?
With a treasure trove of uplifting music, from "Unspeakable Joy" to "Everyday," Kim English's work remains a musical tapestry that has touched our lives. It's time for Kim to embrace her diverse audience, and in these trying times, we could all use a little more joy.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

T-Dance Edition 2010 Volume 1 | Take 3

Tuesday Feb 23, 2010
Sorry for the delay. Sunday was just too fabulous to pass up, so Rick and I stepped out to enjoy. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones that felt that way because all the restaurants with outdoor patios were packed. Car and foot traffic around Piedmont Park was unbelievable, but we made it through to our favorite taqueria, Frogs. Of course, with the good comes the bad. The waitress misplaced my card, so I had to call the bank and cancel it a.s.a.p. Stuff happens.
Fun turned to busy by Monday, and today is no different. So, I’m going to keep this brief and just say this is one heck of a mix! You’ll notice the inclusion of Moto Blanco mix of Mary J. Blige’s “I Am.” In a previous post, I suggested there were no official mixes and then this shows up along with a Dave Aude production as well. Guess I was wrong. I also dropped their mix of “Loubitons” by J-Lo. I don’t know what it is about Moto Blanco vs. Jennifer and Mary, but those mixes always seem to go down like a cool glass of iced tea. Always delightful and no aftertaste.
I’m working on the first Diva Series of the year, which for the most part is done. Many of the songs on the first set are pretty old and definitely need some surgery to bring them up to date. Bounced against more recent mixes, I’m having to take those down a notch so both sides can meet in the middle. It’s not that easy, but I’m up for the task. The goal is to have that first set sail smoothly without a highly compressed song screaming through your ears after something that’s considerably more subdued. I’ll work it out, I always do.
Well, I’m out of here for now. I’ll try to get these other mixes up by the weekend. Until then, enjoy!

Kim English: The Versatile Songstress Who Took Us Beyond the Dance Floor
Monday Feb 22, 2010
Monday Feb 22, 2010
Kim English is a name that resonates powerfully in the world of dance music, particularly when it comes to soul-stirring anthems that became LGBTQ+ community anthems.
However, what's often overlooked is her incredibly diverse musical palate that stretches into genres like Soulful House, Gospel House, and even Jazz House. It's an eclectic body of work that shows her as not just a dance floor diva, but as an artist whose music transcends categories.
Starting with "It Makes A Difference," remixed by Kyle Smith, you're greeted with a soulful interpretation that does more than just move your feet; it warms your soul. The intricate vocal delivery and emotional resonance underline that Kim English was not just a one-trick pony but an artist with depth.
"Been So Long" (a remake of the Anita Baker classic) with its Wamdue Remix, takes a step deeper into the soulful territories. It evokes feelings of longing, beautifully encapsulating the emotions that often go hand-in-hand with the dance floor euphoria. Frankie Feliciano's work on "Time for Love" and "Missing You" go a step further by incorporating elements that make you feel like you've stepped into a sophisticated, intimate jazz club.
"Tomorrow" in the Todd Edwards remix, transports us back to a dance atmosphere but in a way that's markedly different from her larger-than-life anthems. It's softer, nuanced, yet still danceable, capturing the mood of tomorrow's promise.
Unspeakable Joy in the Maurice Joshua remix makes us realize that Kim English had the ability to turn her songs into gospel experiences, capable of lifting an entire dance floor into a spiritual awakening. That duality is a testament to her artistry.
Jonny Montana's take on "Supernatural" dives into Jazz House, which seems apt for a song of that title. It's the kind of track that might make you feel like you're in an intimate, smoky jazz bar, transported by Kim's voice.
And speaking of Jazz, "Love That Jazz" in its Extended Vocal Mix is a delightful foray into the Jazz House sub-genre. With "Higher Things," the Jazz N' Groove Prime Time Club Mix creates an uplifting atmosphere that seems designed to elevate our spirits as well as our dance moves.
What’s even more astonishing is how all these different versions come from DJs and producers who are experts in diverse genres—from Maurice Joshua's soulful grooves to Todd Edwards' unique garage flair and Frankie Feliciano's jazz-influenced beats.
In summary, Kim English was not just a diva who gave us anthems for the dance floor but a versatile artist whose music served as a soundtrack for various moods and settings. Whether you were in a jazz lounge, a soulful dinner party, or even a meditative space seeking spiritual upliftment, Kim's diverse range in music ensured she was right there with you.
So, let's not just celebrate her for her powerful anthems but also for the rich tapestry of music she offered us—a range that spans from the soulful and gospel to the jazzy and beyond. This collection serves as a testament to an artist who has not just made us dance but has also touched our souls in a myriad of ways.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Yet another gorgeous day here in the ATL and all I can say is life is good. Today I am serving up some more fresh and funky house music. This set and Take 3 to be released tomorrow border on a more mainstream house with a little underground and Nu Disco thrown in for good measure.
From Kaylah Marin’s massive hit “On the Floor (Oh Baby Please)” and Inaya Day’s “All I’m Sayin’ (Just Hold On)” to Boris Werner’s “Let’s Boogie” (which samples Stars on 45: Medley; I unapologetically admit to owning the original 12” from back in the day) and the absolutely beautiful “Keep On Loving Me” by Dion Mavath, there’s something here to make you think, feel and jump out of your seat!
I don’t want to spend too much time babbling as I want to get out and enjoy this day sent from the gods. I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. I’ll be back tomorrow with the third and final installment.
Until then, ENJOY!

T-Dance Edition 2010 Volume 1 | Take 1
Friday Feb 19, 2010
Friday Feb 19, 2010
What exactly is soulful, funky and Nu Disco have to do with each other? IT’S TIME FOR SOME T-DANCE BABY! Sorry, I didn’t mean to scream at everyone, but I’ve been listening to these mixes for over a week and just can’t get enough. They put the sunshine back in my life when there wasn’t any, and I mean that literally. Thankfully, the ATL has been sporting that bright fiery ball in the sky for the past several days. So if where you live ain’t quite there yet, this should help you get through the rest of winter. Trust me, better weather is just around the corner.
I’ve got three sets out of these mixes and for those that like to burn them to disc, all of them fall just under the 80-minute threshold. This first one is on the house (pun intended) and the rest will be part of the premium content. I’m not going to sit here and tell everyone this little experiment is working fabulously because it’s not and I didn’t expect that it would. What I will say is that it is working well enough to at least cover about 2/3 of my expenses and that alone makes it worth continuing without breaking my piggy bank (what little I have). So for now, I’ll keep on keeping on with the site and continue tracking its performance over the next couple of months.
Be request, I’ve got a very special Diva Series on tap for next week followed by the next installment of the BPM Edition and then the first two sets of the Chrome Edition: Best of the Millennium | The First 10 Years. Obviously, I’ve got my plate full and I’ll do my best to keep up. Judging by some of the promos that have been coming out and with WMC just around the corner, it looks like it’s going to be a very HOT spring and summer; just the way I like it!
I’ll do my best to get part 2 out tomorrow, followed by the third installment on Sunday. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and as always, ENJOY!

Winter Edition 2010 Volume 2
Saturday Feb 13, 2010
Saturday Feb 13, 2010
The sun is out and yesterday’s snow is melting away. I got up early and headed out to Waffle House (they’ve got the best coffee in the world, hands down) and was driving down Cheshire Bridge Road admiring all the beauty that had accumulated all around me. It was fun to watch it all melt right off the powerlines with ice falling everywhere. Sadly, Rick left work early yesterday and it took him over three hours to get home. Consequently, he was in a pissy mood once he got here and wasn’t up for making a snowman. Maybe next time.
Yesterday, I was moving into a discussion about Valentines Day. Now I’m sorry, this is nothing more than another corporate bullshit holiday, designed to part consumers with their money. Now, if you’re honey is all tweaked because you didn’t get them anything, then they really don’t love you. Frankly, love and appreciation should be given to those you care most about all year long. You don’t need any specific day where society dictates how you should show your appreciation for another. For me, sometimes I would show up with flowers for no reason; sometimes I would make reservations at a nice restaurant and spring it on Rick, even though there was no occasion to celebrate; sometimes I would pick him up a nice shirt or shoes when I was at the mall, not because he needed them, but because I thought he would like them; while other times I’ll give it up even when I wasn’t in the mood [grin]. Rick is also a voracious reader and once the dust settles on the competing technologies, I plan on springing an e-reader on him later this year for no other reason than I want to. No need to worry, he doesn’t read my blog.
Nevertheless, this day of love has been so ingrained into our brains since childhood (remember the stupid VD cards you used to buy a box of and give them out to your teachers, friends and that someone special who put a twinkle in your eye), that it’s hard to ignore. So in keeping with that tradition, I created the perfect cover art for all those who have been affected by cupid’s arrow. Yes, I am a marketing genius and know full well, how to play the game. In fact, I think the Winter Edition would be a perfect gift for the one you love. [grin]
Now that I’ve probably sapped all the love in your heart(s), let me inject some passion back into you. This second set picks up where the first left off. In fact, I originally made it as one long set when I didn’t think there would be enough for two. A couple brand spanking new tunes came in this week that was so worthwhile, I extended the mix and then broke it into two pieces. Using the synth line from Olive’s classic “You’re Not Alone,” Major Laser and Nina Sky’s “Keep It Goin Louder” has been on heavy rotation in my brain for several weeks now. The Superchumbo mix kicks it up several notches making it peak-time ready for those late night floors. Kim Sozzi is back with the ultra-hot “Secret Love,” which also has an amazing Wendel Kos mix that will make its debut on the next BPM Edition.
PFF (Party Favorz Favorite) Inaya Day is back with the smoking “All I’m Sayin’” that delivers some hard-hitting progressive beats while pulling a positive vibe. Equally, Georgia Brown’s “Love 4 Real” is as solid as they come with DJ Fist really working this one out. Currently, these two songs are in Masterbeat’s Top two must have list.
Probably the biggest (and I mean BIGGEST) song here is Kristine W’s “The Power of Music.” With her trademark power vocals and Tony Moran’s massive production, you can expect to be hearing this song in all of its incarnations throughout the spring. With remixes by Tony, Groove Police, Wideboys, Joe Gauthreaux and more, there’s something here for everyone. Looks like she’s well on her way to another #1 off of her amazing album by the same title. Check out the ultra HOT video below.
It’s turned out to be a gorgeous day here in the ATL, but I’m not going to be able to experience it. I’ve signed on for a couple more projects,

Winter Edition 2010 Volume 1
Friday Feb 12, 2010
Friday Feb 12, 2010
As I sit here waiting for the 2 inches of snow that was predicted to fall, I can’t help but wonder about all those folks on the east coast or even in the UK that have been buried underneath the stuff for much of the year. To someone like me in the south, it’s pretty and fun. Sure it can wreak havoc on the roads, as us backward folks don’t know how to drive in it. For me, I can appreciate the wonderment of it, but I wouldn’t want to live, much less be stranded in it for any period of time. Then again, it will last a day and the sun will be out tomorrow and melt it and all of its beauty away. That being said, it is with great pleasure that I bring you the 2010 Winter Edition.
Not unlike an episode of “Project Runway” where one day you’re in and the next day you’re out, the Winter Edition will give way to the Spring Edition and we know what that means, right? Gay Days is right around the corner! I, like much of you, am always ready to move on to the next thing. Dance music is typically fleeting with several memorable moments caught on the dancefloor or even in the gym throughout the year. But let’s face it, it lasts about as long as a one night stand. You get up and look over at the drudge you’ll pull out of the club the night before and think to yourself, “NEXT!” Now I could lead into this useless holiday that’s right around the corner, but I think I’ll save it for tomorrow’s post. Hey, a girl doesn’t just give it up all at once, even if she is on a roll!
In the meantime, I’m serving up a heaping platter of Party Favorz! While I don’t want anyone to get too full, because we still have desert tomorrow, there are definitely some choice selections on today’s menu. Starting with the always fabulous Miss Mary, “I Am” proves her place in dance music heaven is rightfully reserved. Granted, Geffen didn’t put out any official mixes for the single, but Nick Harvey swooped in a delivered a massive uplifting bag of joy with his production. This is followed by a surefire floor filler “Party Around the World.” With Jason Dottley’s snarky phrasing backed by Debbie Holiday’s massive vocals, this Barry Harris production hits all the right notes with its island party grooves.
Our girl Andrea Carnell is back with a classic 90s remake that has already been burning up dancefloors around the globe with “Don’t Stop Movin.” With HUGE vocals that could give Kristine W a run for her money and a powerhouse production by Klubjumpers, this one’s heading to the top! Speaking of massive vocals, Kimberly Davis really delivers the goods on “Get Up.” Ladies, we’re talking ANTHEM!
And what would this set be without the already massive comeback single “Louis Vuitton's” oops, I meant “Louboutins” by J-Lo. I think this must be the third version that appeared on any of my podcasts since December. Expect one final take as the Moto Blanco mix will be delivered on my upcoming T-Dance Edition. Other goodies include newcomer Selena Gomez’ “Naturally” and the “Housewives of Atlanta” reality star Kim Zolciak’s “Tardy for the Party.” Okay, okay I know she can’t sing, but give the woman her due. Everyone wants to prolong their fame beyond the allotted 15 minutes and with voice disguisers, why not?
That’s a wrap! I’ll be back tomorrow with volume 2. Right now, I’ve got snow on my mind and it still ain’t here! I guess no sissy snowman for me.
Until tomorrow, ENJOY!
