The Biggest Circuit Anthems of Spring
Saturday Mar 11, 2023
Saturday Mar 11, 2023
Party Favorz is excited to announce the release of the 2023 Spring Edition, featuring the hottest gay circuit anthems of the season.
This set includes two tribute songs to Irene Cara: "What A Feeling" by Mor Avrahami and Ran Ziv featuring Ilor Bar, and "Fame" by Black Flamingo and Mar Shine featuring Choir+. The updated versions of these classics with new vocals are outstanding and pay homage to the originals.
Many of you may remember the excellent rework of "Fame" by DJ Bill Bennett and Suzanne Palmer back in the day and recently featured on The Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics volume 4. These updated versions with new vocals are stellar and do the original justice. Miss Cara would be honored.
The legendary Suzanne Palmer has also featured in the Tony Moran and Guy Scheiman collaboration of "Praise Up" with various remixes to suit all tastes making it the ultimate circuit anthem.
Debby Holiday, another favorite of Party Favorz, has a new remix by Dirty Disco and Matt Consola of her remake of the Soul and Disco classic "I Can't Stand the Rain" and a blazing remix of "Love & Peace." Party Favorz believes that Miss Holiday and Miss Palmer deserve an induction into the Diva Hall of Fame due to their contributions to the gay community, which can't be overstated. Still, these are big circuit anthems from a diva with a huge voice that shouldn't go unnoticed.
Additionally, Disco Queen Carol Jiani returns with Sammy X on the super gay "I'm A Diva Baby," and Miley Cyrus, Sam Smith, and P!nk's latest hits are included with Dirty Disco and Zambianco doing remix honors.
While Party Favorz maintains a big tribal house sound throughout the set, plenty of progressive sounds and mainstream songs are Tea Dance tracks included to mix things up making for the ultimate circuit anthems of spring.
Finally, Party Favorz asks for your support to sustain our current level of growth. Though streaming and downloading are not dependent on your donation, we greatly appreciate any contributions to support our efforts to bring you the latest from the world of dance. You can donate here: https://partyfavorz.com/donate.
I'll be back next week with a fresh new Disco House set. Until then...ENJOY!

The 2023 Ultimate Spring Break Party Mix!
Sunday Mar 05, 2023
Sunday Mar 05, 2023
Spring Break 2023 — your ultimate spring break party mix represents just over two months of releases. Considering that nothing was dropped from this set, releases haven't been all that stealthy — a pattern I discussed in Top Dance Songs of the Year 2022 Volume 2. That doesn't mean there aren't stellar releases because there are but the trend appears to be major recording artists allowing DJs to remix their releases without having to commission them. The elephant in the room is the massive "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus and even P!nk's latest "Trustfall". Neither of these releases was accompanied by official remixes but there is a boatload of bootlegs. Frankly, that saves the labels on marketing costs while extending these fabulous ladies' brands. The same appears to be happening with Sam Smith's latest "I'm Not Here To Make Friends". No worries though, because Party Favorz has these artists covered.
There are some big releases included in this set but a couple of standouts a worth mentioning. Sofi Tukker along with veteran DJs Kx5 (Kaskade and Deadmau5) have dropped the peak hour bomb "Sacrifice" that's rightfully blowing up everywhere. The other track blowing up right now is "Work With My Love" by Alok & James Arthur. The familiar sample the song uses is from "Lola's Theme" by The Shapeshifters. For this set, we went with the equally stellar club version of the song, which adds even more muscle to the original.
Honorable mention goes to one of last year's Top Dance Songs "Turn On the Lights (Again)" by Fred Again.. & Swedish House Mafia and featuring Future. The Anyma version pumps up the original breakbeat version, which is perfect for clubs and festivals alike.
I would like to discuss possibly putting a moratorium on sampling and remakes of certain classics. I've often discussed that "Love Sensation" by Loleatta Holloway is the most sampled song in music history. Granted, I don't have any statistics to back that up rather enough real-world experience to have come across it more times than I care to. Still, it samples one of our favorite divas and so, she gets a pass. Besides, the song is chock-full of sample-worthy bits that the temptation to flip it is too much.
Instead, I'm talking about these oft-recycled songs: 1) "Sweet Dreams" by Eurythmics — please, just stop with the remakes and the mashups. It was once fun but now, you've ruined a classic song from the 80s.
2) "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce - I have better bootlegs of this song than the plethora of recent remixes (and there's a lot). Just stop. You're embarrassing yourself.
3) "Children" by Robert Miles — What was once a classic Trance song has now been stripped of its original eloquence. Even the version back in the day with Hilary Clinton reading from her book "It Takes a Village" was abysmal. We get it, you love this song but it doesn't belong in yours. Please, just let this man rest in peace without destroying his legacy for a club hit.
4) "Low" by Flo Rida — I get it, this frat boy song is fun at just about any event and mixes well in a big room environment but we're sitting on about 10 versions that all sound virtually the same. Yes, I included the latest remix in this set because it's too fly for this white guy but seriously, give it a rest already. There's gotta be another song that will fill this slot before we get tired of it.
Finally, 5) "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay — this was my jam back in 1999 but mainly because Pete and I broke it off. It's one of those crying on-the-dancefloor songs that are built around the bubbly Ibiza sound which was all the rage at the time but at this point, it's getting tired and you're destroying the fondest (or saddest) memories I have from that year.
I realize some of y'all are still recovering from massive amounts of snow while we luckier folks in Georgia are enjoying nice spring weather. I hope it all melts away soon and fills up your water reservoirs.

KD Lang | The Diva Series | Updated
Sunday Jan 29, 2023
Sunday Jan 29, 2023
KD Lang is Canadian pop and country singer known for hits such as "Constant Craving" and "Miss Chatelaine" from her Grammy award-winning and multi-platinum album "Ingénue ." She came on my radar in 1989 riding high on the "cowpunk" trend of the late 80s that included BoDeans and Lone Justice. For me, that label wasn't fitting for her style as she was a classic country crooner. But, like Maria McKee of Lone Star fame — there was something unique about her and lordy that voice.
While already receiving praise for her first two albums "Shadowland" and "A Truly Western Experience," and "Angel with a Lariat" (the latter two with the Reclines), it was her album (also with the Reclines) "Absolute Torch and Twang," that blew me away. The comparisons between KD Lang and Patsy Cline were well deserved and "Pullin' Back the Reins" remains one of my all-time favorites.
By 1992, she moved in a more pop-centric direction that still retained elements of her folk roots and released "Ingénue." This album and the lead single "Constant Craving" brought her not only acclaim but the worldwide recognition she rightfully deserved.
Her performance of the Leonard Cohen classic "Hallelujah" at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Colombia is only bested by Whitney Houston's "Star Spangled Banner" in live event vocal performances. Her rendition was not only stirring but heartfelt, which mesmerized me at the same time. If there ever was any doubt about this woman's talent — this performance was proof of the contrary.
It wasn't until a year later that Abigail covered "Constant Craving" and made the song an underground Eurodance hit. Her label subsequently commissioned remixes for several of her new releases going forward. You know how us gay folk operate. If we latch onto someone — we're gonna remix it and put it on the dancefloor.
K.D. Lang's induction into the Diva Hall of Fame represents all the singles that were remixed by her label in various iterations (save "Constant Craving," which is an edit of the original). It is with great pleasure to include one of our own in the Diva Hall of Fame as Miss KD Lang takes her rightful place among the many talented women that have filled up this ever-expanding series. I don't know how KD feels about her music being remixed but we adore this woman and it's our way of showing our gratitude for sharing her talent with the rest of the world. I cannot think of a better person to represent the LGBTQ+ community. We love you.
The original release of Ms. Lang's induction contained an edit of "Constant Craving". Party Favorz expressed our disappointment that there were no viable remixes of this great song at that time. Shortly afterward, the fabulous Tracy Young was commissioned to create an official remix for her biggest hit. This episode has been updated from the original with Tracy's excellent remix.

The Ultimate New Year Dance Party Mix for 2023!
Tuesday Dec 27, 2022
Tuesday Dec 27, 2022
Party Favorz is capping off 2022 with our annual Blow Your Own Horn series making it the ultimate New Year Dance Party Mix to carry you into the next.
Well, folks, after climbing out of the pandemic only to be hit by high inflation with rising costs in gas, food, and housing, you name it — I'd say 2022 has been an uneven year at best. Our household capped the year off with flooding of our unit from the 4th floor down. It reeks to high heaven of mildew in here and the complex is moving us into a hotel later today because our home is in complete disrepair. We managed to save our furniture and my workstation but the smell is so bad it's messing with my sinuses and I need to leave before my right eye starts bulging out of the socket. I have previous experience in this area and mold and mildew are not something you want to mess around with.
While the Blow Your Own Horn series is typically meant to be created as a giant end-of-year celebration that's created in one sitting to give it a live feel — I had to piece this together over a few days just to finish it. I haven't had a chance to preview most of it yet so, fingers crossed.
I want to thank every one of you that has stuck with Party Favorz through thick and thin. The future of my baby is still up in the air and those decisions will be finalized by the spring.
Until then, I hope everyone stays safe and piss off your neighbors by turning up the ultimate New Year Dance Party mix. In short, play this mother fucker LOUD!
See you next year. ENJOY!!!

Top Dance Songs Of 2022 Volume 2
Thursday Dec 22, 2022
Thursday Dec 22, 2022
Party Favorz presents Volume 2 of the Best Dance Songs of 2022 - an honest reflection on this year's top tracks. While 2022 hasn't been a standout year for club music, there were still some incredible songs that deserve recognition. However, it's worth noting that many new releases seem to be dominated by a select group of artists, resulting in a familiar and somewhat stale style. This repetitive approach, often dark and somewhat depressing, has left the industry craving originality. Regardless, these two volume reprsent the best dance songs of the year for 2022.
Unfortunately, new releases have been scarce, and breakout hits even rarer. Typically, we witness at least three massive hits that carry over into the following year, but this time, they are noticeably absent. Even the revival of NuDisco has become tiresome, as repetitive beats with different lyrics no longer captivate audiences. Disco, once a diverse and vibrant genre, is not accurately represented in today's music landscape.
The industry lacks the juice and originality that made it so thrilling, even when sampling older songs. Will 2023 be the year that Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Rihanna, accompanied by their tours, breathe life into this stale industry? While their tours are sure to be a success, their impact on the dance floor remains uncertain. Personally, I have longed for Madonna to revisit her early sound with a modern twist, but it seems she has disregarded my advice. However, she has the potential to achieve the elusive middle-aged global #1 hit that brought Cher back to the top of the pop charts in 1998. Perhaps she will surprise us after all.
Moving on to Rihanna, her contribution to the Wakanda Forever theme song was forgettable, similar to Beyoncé's delivery for Lion King. However, with her upcoming performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, new music is likely on the horizon. Let's hope it doesn't resemble "Lift Me Up" from her forthcoming album.
Regarding Janet, most of the buzz revolves around her tour, though she did mention that new music is in the works. While I'd love to be pleasantly surprised, I remain doubtful.
In 2023, Latino music has had a significant impact, transcending barriers and achieving tremendous crossover success across the Americas. This wave is even more substantial than the explosion of Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, and Shakira from 1999 to 2001. The remarkable aspect is that most of these artists are accomplishing this while singing in their native language, marking a major milestone. Remixes ranging from Big Room to House Music perfectly complement their songs. Party Favorz eagerly anticipates more from these artists, hoping they can keep up with major label demands and maintain their freshness.
I apologize if my perspective seems cynical as we approach the end of 2022, but recent months have been quite challenging for me. It's possible that these circumstances have influenced my outlook, but considering my skittishness throughout the year, I believe otherwise. Even the year had a slow start, with our first releases not appearing until February due to a shortage of quality dance music. Fortunately, we have the next round of Millennial Dance Classics to fill the inevitable gap as we await new releases.
It's essential to acknowledge how the pandemic has severely impacted the dance music industry. Perhaps this adversity will pave the way for emerging DJs and artists to find their unique voice and style, offering something fresh that doesn't rely on tired trends or recycled hits. Only time will reveal what lies ahead. However, it's crucial for both major and independent labels to stop pushing regurgitated content, as the audience is more discerning than they realize. If you're among the fortunate few DJs or producers who have found success in recent years, it's time to reinvent your game, as your position can easily be replaced. Just ask Calvin.

Top Dance Songs Of 2022 Volume 1
Sunday Dec 18, 2022
Sunday Dec 18, 2022
Party Favorz presents the top dance songs of 2022 (or at least half of them). Rest assured, this compilation includes an array of songs from various sub-genres of dance music - House Music, Tech House, Future House, Progressive House, NuDisco, to name a few.
Featuring songs from top artists like Beyonce, Tiesto, Alok, Sigala, David Guetta, and more, this compilation is a testament to the resilience and vibrancy of the dance music scene in 2022. Each song in this list has left an indelible mark on the dance music scene and continues to thrill listeners on the dance floor.
Whether it's Beyonce's soulful "Break My Soul" or Tiesto's catchy "Money," each track in this compilation offers a unique vibe that adds to the diverse and dynamic nature of dance music. Other standout tracks include "Love Is Gone" by SLANDER, "I Was Made For Lovin' You" by Oliver Heldens, "About Damn Time" by Lizzo, and the list goes on. These tracks capture the energy and euphoria associated with dance music, creating an intoxicating blend of beats and rhythms that never fail to get people moving.
Despite the ongoing pandemic and the subsequent repercussions on various music industries, especially the dance music industry, Party Favorz continues to be a beacon of hope for the fans of the dance music genre. Our commitment to curate and compile the best dance songs has remained steadfast. While most charts have lost their relevance due to shifts in the music industry, we've managed to keep our finger on the pulse of the dance music scene.
Over the past 15 years, Party Favorz has offered the most comprehensive picture of the biggest dance songs of any given year, dating back to 1999. We delve into various facets of dance music, ensuring no underground hit, fan favorite, or chart-topper is left behind. Our compilation includes bootleg remixes of popular songs that were not originally meant for the dance floor but gained traction in clubs due to their popularity on radio or streaming platforms.
The dance music landscape has shifted significantly. Most record labels no longer see the need to hire professional DJs to remix their pop releases. Instead, they rely on bedroom DJs and budding producers to do the work for them. You can't put a price on that kind of publicity, and it comes at no cost to the labels. Moreover, independent releases and collaborations with professional remix outlets like Tiesto have led to the creation of many dance hits. The likes of David Guetta have remained relevant as artists continue to seek their expertise in crafting dance hits that transcend the club scene to gain popularity on radio and streaming platforms, with full backing from their labels.
Party Favorz has stayed true to its essence and has become the go-to source for the most memorable moments in dance music throughout the year. The 2022 edition of the Top Dance Songs of the Year is no exception. Our compilation is as comprehensive as it gets, filled with countless hits that dominated the dance music scene throughout the year. This collection is the culmination of hours of diligent work, where we meticulously go through all the past year's releases, match them up with views, streams, ranking, and overall popularity from various sources to create this series.
While our efforts have been consistent, we are not claiming perfection in our choices. There might be a few songs that we might have overlooked, but that does not detract from the accuracy and comprehensiveness of our compilation. Even if electronic dance music (which can be anything except dance floor ready) doesn't make it to our list unless there are accompanying remixes for the song, we strive to be as accurate as possible.
In conclusion, despite the changing landscape of dance music and the broader music industry, Party Favorz remains committed to its mission of delivering the most comprehensive and accurate reflection of the top dance songs of the year. So, put on your dancing shoes,

Designed to ensure that we fulfill all of our commitments to you, our dedicated music lovers, this edition is dropping earlier than promised. Rest assured, this surprise will only add to the anticipation and excitement.
With the Holiday Edition 2022, we’re laying out a spectacular array of pulsating beats and sensational tunes that have shaped the year's circuit soundscape. As we inch closer to bidding farewell to another year, it's the perfect time to rewind, relish, and rejoice in the rhythm of circuit tribal house music.
Kicking off the tracklist, we have Filipe Guerra & D'Layna's 'We Got the Power'. The intro mix sets the stage with an energizing aura, invigorating the listeners and priming them for what lies ahead.
This is quickly followed by the unmistakable vocals of Beyoncé with 'Cuff It', remixed into an electrifying version by Guy Scheiman. The Bent Collective teams up with Nina Flowers to create 'Arriba Maricones', a track that raises the stakes with Steven Redant's Big Mix.
Siege's 'Waiting' gets an extended mix by Nick Harvey, while Todrick Hall's 'Pre Madonna' is transformed into a dance anthem thanks to Alan Capetillo's brilliant remix. Russ Rich & Debby Holiday’s 'I Can't Stand The Rain' gets a club mix revamp by Stephen Jusko, and Lizzo's 'About Damn Time' receives the Nick Harvey treatment, resulting in a surefire party hit.
As we move further into this dance paradise, Klaas × Matthew Tasa take us on a nostalgic trip with their house remix of 'Take on Me'. Top Dance Songs of the Holiday Season! — Jingle Electric 2022
Saturday Dec 10, 2022
Saturday Dec 10, 2022
Party Favorz is back with our annual Jingle Electric featuring the top dance songs of the holiday season and this set is one smoking hot set ready to burn down the house!
2022 has been a transitional year for dance music with a lot of variety in styles making their way onto many playlists. Granted, that variance pulls from a variety of throwback sounds from the 80s and the 90s but to newbies — it's all fresh.
There does seem to be a darker element that's been trending lately as opposed to the sunnier NuDisco tracks that got us through the pandemic. Still, I see a major shift coming soon which I'll get more into in the upcoming Top Dance Songs of the Year.
Since October, I've been pulled in different directions from a seemingly endless list of outside mini-emergencies that have drained me physically and mentally. I'm surprised I've been able to get any work done but somehow, I manage. I want to apologize to anyone I was late responding to in our support section. It appears all issues have been resolved.
I also want to apologize to Taylor Swift for the brain-scattered write-up I created for her induction. I've gone back and cleaned up my writing. That's what happens when I'm too tired to even proofread my work. After re-reading it yesterday, I was facepalming myself out of sheer embarrassment.
In other news, I've already compiled the track list for the upcoming Holiday Edition, which features the latest big room tribal house tracks. You can expect that to drop next weekend. Afterward, we'll be dropping the annual Top Dance Songs of the Year featuring the year's biggest dance and club tunes along with our final sendoff of 2021 Blow Your Own Horn to help you bring in the New Year.
For now, pop on the 2022 Jingle Electric featuring the top dance songs of the holiday season and create your own jingle jam.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Popular Disco Songs Remixed & Reimagined — Thank God It’s Disco Volume 8
Sunday Nov 27, 2022
Sunday Nov 27, 2022
We have finally arrived at the grand finale of the 'Thank God It's Disco' series, and volume 8 offers a richly packed 4-hour set. This compilation provides an appealing mix of familiar favorites and rare gems among popular disco songs, each carefully remastered for today's audience.
A standout track in this volume is Chemise's "She Can't Love," an underground masterpiece from 1982. Its catchy riff might ring a bell due to its frequent sampling over the years. Purple Disco Machine meticulously remastered this classic, keeping its original charm intact while adding a touch of their disco-funk signature style.
Another treasure among popular disco songs is "New York Moving" by Ahzz, given a fresh lease of life by DJ Disco Cat. The version included here is not only polished for enhanced sound quality, but also rearranged to create a more immersive listening experience.
No collection of popular disco songs is complete without a tribute to the French band Ottawan and their iconic hit "D.I.S.C.O." Originating in 1979, this song has been sampled numerous times, even being covered by N-Trance and The Young Professionals. An interesting piece of trivia is that one of the song's authors, Daniel Vangarde, is the father of Thomas Bangalter, one half of the legendary French house duo Daft Punk.
This eighth volume of the series is released with a heavy heart, marking the recent passing of Irene Cara, the phenomenal singer behind the theme songs of 1980s hits like "Fame" and "Flashdance...What A Feeling." Cara, whose powerful voice and infectious energy left an indelible mark on disco, passed away at 63. This final volume is dedicated to her memory and her contribution to popular disco songs. Irene Cara Escalera (March 18, 1959 – November 25, 2022), may you rest in peace.

Best Disco Tunes Remixed & Reimagined Thank God It’s Disco Volume 7
Saturday Nov 19, 2022
Saturday Nov 19, 2022
Since the launch of the sixth volume of 'Thank God It's Disco,' fans have eagerly awaited the next iteration. Party Favorz has been diligently curating a fresh collection of the best disco tunes for over a year, and we are excited to announce not just one, but two forthcoming releases.
For those new to this journey, the 'Thank God It's Disco' series is a carefully curated compilation of the best disco tunes from the 70s and 80s. These classics have been intricately remixed, reimagined, or subtly updated to align with contemporary musical tastes, while faithfully preserving the essence of the original track. It's not rare for us to feature different versions of the same song, remixed by various DJ/producers, each bringing their unique perspective to the remix. Although there might be some unintentional duplications by the same artist, these are rare and typically occur due to a re-release appearing in my DJ Pool without prior knowledge of its previous inclusion.
The upcoming volume is filled with lesser-known classics, exciting the most ardent disco enthusiasts. You may discover that the rhythm of many tracks has been sampled and used in other songs from the 90s or even more recent hits. Even for a seasoned disco aficionado like me, the joy of recognizing these reused beats in newer compositions is always surprising and rewarding.
For instance, "She Can't Love You" by Chemise, featured in volume 8 of this series, is a great example. This underground house classic from the early 80s was the inspiration for Sean Biddle's "Get Up and Dance" in the early millennium. Now, Purple Disco Machine has remixed the original, spotlighting it in all its 80s synth glory. These unexpected remixes are like a pleasant shock to the system, revealing the depth of crate-digging these DJs must undertake to discover these gems.
The age of these best disco tunes should not deter anyone from enjoying their infectious charm. Many of these songs form the backbone of today's hits, such as Beyonce's "Renaissance." Furthermore, these tracks have been carefully updated and optimised for today's listeners, ensuring their relevance and enjoyment.
So, prepare to reignite your passion for D-I-S-C-O with these masterfully reimagined best disco tunes. It's time to hit the dance floor and ENJOY!

The beat drops, the crowd roars, and you know you're in for a ride. Welcome back to another energizing edition of Party Favorz's Funky House Music sets! If you're a seasoned listener, you know what you're in for—high-octane tunes that'll get your feet tapping and your heart racing. For newcomers, you're about to discover why Funky House Music is a beloved cornerstone of our extensive dance music catalog.
The UK Shapeshifters are no strangers to the dance scene, consistently delivering groovy anthems that make you move. Their rendition of "Slippery People," originally by the Talking Heads and featuring Ramona Renea & Fiorious, is no exception. This makeover takes the classic and adds a hypnotic bassline that slides you effortlessly into the groove. It's not just a track; it's a transformative experience that transcends time and genre.

Next up, LF SYSTEM’s "Hungry (For Love)" offers a succulent blend of funky synths and pulsating rhythms that'll leave you craving for more. There's a rawness to it, something intangibly authentic that harks back to the roots of Funky House while boldly stepping into the contemporary scene.
Birdee's versatility shines in our latest Funky House set, remixing Joey Montenegro's "Do What You Feel" with a groove that effortlessly melds old-school and contemporary vibes. Not to be outdone, his original track "Gotta Keep On" takes you on a euphoric ride with its compelling rhythms, solidifying Birdee as an emerging powerhouse in the scene.
Similarly, Dr Packer leaves an indelible imprint on our playlist with two standout tracks. His extended mix of Staxx's "Joy" transforms the song into a vibrant, feel-good journey, while his remix of Yolanda Wyns's "I Know You, I Live You" masterfully marries robust vocals and a captivating beat. Both artists prove that whether it's in the realm of remixing or original creation, their unique flair sets the stage for unforgettable dance experiences.

Tensnake's "Coma Cat," reworked by Purple Disco Machine, then takes the set to new heights. The extended re-work gives this already iconic tune an innovative touch, blending nu-disco elements and classic Funky House sounds that make for an aural treat.
Finally, "Keep It Movin" by Patrick Wayne & DJ ThreeJay closes out our set with a robust blend of uplifting beats and invigorating basslines that keep the energy soaring right to the end. It’s the type of track that epitomizes what Funky House is all about: a compelling beat, memorable vocals, and the ineffable quality that makes you want to dance until dawn.
These gems, carefully curated and seamlessly blended, make up our latest Funky House set. Whether you’re a Funky House aficionado or a casual listener looking for a good vibe, this set offers an aural journey you won't want to miss.
