EDM & House Music: Party Favorz (Circuit, Funky & Dance Classics)

Party Favorz is a dance music podcast and mix series, founded by Keith (aka K j A M), that has been producing and distributing mixes since 2007.
The project’s origins trace back to 1999 in South Texas, where Keith was DJing at a gay bar. After-hours parties were a local staple, and Keith’s branded mix CDs became known as "party favorz"—a nickname that stuck.
The podcast was born by accident on a music-focused blog. Encouraged by friends, Keith’s blogging evolved into Party Favorz, a brand now connecting disco, house, EDM, and circuit trends to a global audience.
At its heart, Party Favorz is about celebration and inclusiveness. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you on the dance floor. It's about providing a soundtrack that serves any moment in your life—whether you're at the gym, poolside, or simply in need of joy.
So, crank it up and get the party started!

First Splash Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
Friday May 02, 2008
Friday May 02, 2008
Well, it looks as if I'm way ahead of the curve. I managed to clean up my computer, replace the motherboard, backup everything to two external hard drives (for anal retentive sake), and reinstalled Vista now that SP1 is out. I also switched to DSL from Cable (good riddance).
So where did I find the time to knock this edition out you ask? I threw all the songs together in a giant mix and burned it to an mp3 disc so I could preview the tunes I wanted to use for this mix while I was working on the computer. Not only was the mix spectacular, I was able to go back and make a handful of tweaks and of course, edits to cut the time under 80 minutes per mix for those that like to burn to disc.
All told I might have spent 3 hours in total in the mix. I can assure you, it's rare that all the songs I want to use just fall into place, but it does happen. Even though First Splash isn't until the end of the Month, I wanted to ensure there was no overlapping with my Pride Edition that comes out in June. So spacing these mixes out just made good sense.
For those of you who may be wondering what First Splash is, it is Memorial Day weekend in Austin, TX. Much like your White Party and its brethren, this is a major Gay celebration that goes on all weekend. Typically considered the time of year when you're ready to shed all your clothes for more suitable attire befitting the season. You can certainly do that at "Hippie Hollow" a nudist area just off the lake. If you've never been, you ought to check it out.
There's a newer First Splash that started on South Padre Island back in 2000. I was asked to spin two years in a row for the event and the accompanying "Last Splash" which occurs on Labor Day weekend. Though small at the time, it's well on its way to being a viable competitor to the one in Austin. "The Upper Deck" owner has been buying up all the property down the street where his hotel is located and had plans to build a giant indoor club to allow the party to go on all night. I haven't been back in a while, I guess maybe I should.
I really like this mix. Side one is chock full of cheez. Mind you, not that government cheez, but grade 'A' quality cheez. Nevertheless, still cheez...LOL. As the mix progresses, it begins to get deeper about 2/3 of the way down. Side two picks up where mix 1 leaves off and holds steady until the end, where I had to throw in one last slice of cheez, an updated version of the eighties NRG classic "So Many Many, So Little Time". All in all, this is one solid mix that I'm very proud of and I hope will get the boys all excited about Summer! Yay, the warmer weather is on its way and it's time to get all sweaty on the dancefloor again.
I still have a few more things that need to be taken care of, so I may or may not be back this next weekend with my next update. I decided to go ahead and knock out my next Electro-Funk Edition followed by the next installment of the Classix Edition that was originally promised. I'll see how everything pans out, but those of you that regularly visit my blog, know me well enough that I just can't stay away. Until then, everyone have a great weekend and as always...ENJOY!
Due to the original structure of this post, the two separate sets have now been combined into one and remastered based on the techniques used in current podcasts.

Deep Edition 2008 v5 [Pt. 1 & 2]

Sorry for the delay, but Comcast is up to no good again. Previously they had been throttling my uploads around an average of 55 kb/s, but are now limiting it around 5 kb/s.
Heck, with those kind of speeds, who needs cable when dial up is much faster? That's ok. I went ahead and switched to AT&T which I should have up and running no later than Tuesday. It has been nothing short of a nightmare with Comcast. Their commercials always talk about "how fast they are" and their service is "Comcastic" et. al. Since switching from DSL to cable, I can honestly testify that their service is purely "Comcraptic". Slow speeds, constant connection losses and now the throttling of my uploads to the point where it's impossible to get one of my podcasts' uploaded, is completely unacceptable.
Whether I'm uploading to Podbean, Flickr or Mozy (online storage), their service makes it impossible to get anything done without ripping out my hair. Oh wait, I just shaved it off this past weekend, so I guess a better analogy would be in order.
Regardless, you get my point. What's funny (or maybe not), I called in yesterday for my weekly bitchfest with their support department. As always, they check the lines from their end and "claim everything tests fine". If that's the case, then please explain to me why my Internet service went down for two hours yesterday evening, and then when it came back up, all was fine in Comcrapticland? Coincidence? I think not.
If you are experiencing this type of poor quality Internet experience with your ISP, click on the Comcast image on the left hand side and sign up to make your voice heard. Net neutrality is something that's been debated for a long time now, and stands a much better chance of passage now that the Democrats are in charge. Naturally, the ISP's are against it. Why you ask? Because companies like Comcast have oversold their capacity to the point of not being able to viably sustain their networks.
Meanwhile, they stifle competition in the areas they serve, ensuring their monopolistic ventures continue unquestioned and unabated with their already poor quality service. Consequently, they are devising ways to start charging customers for the amount of bandwidth they consume each month. I'm sorry, but the whole point of the Internet and faster connections was to allow people to be more productive while providing an overall better user experience. Unfortunately, it's having the opposite affect.
Those of you that access the Internet wirelessly through your cell phones, your next. At what point do we as citizens demand we get the service the ISP's promise (and that we pay for) but refuse to deliver? The time is now to speak up and let Congress know that you're "mad as hell and you're NOT going to take it anymore". Alright, I'll step down from my soapbox for now...on to the music!
As promised, Party Favorz is serving up another installment of the Deep Edition this week. This time around, the music leans heavily towards a more progressive and tech house sound. From Eric Prydz' now classic "Pjanoo" to Mark Knight's classic update of "Man With The Red Face" or House Music United's "Yes We Can" this is some serious electronica. Needless to say, this is NOT your parents house music.
Listen very closely, as the layer's continue to build one on top of the other like a stack of heaping pancakes. Before you know it, you'll be cooled down on side two with some whip cream and blueberry's. On the latter song, you'll notice HMU dropped in one of Barak Obama's inspirational speeches. While this is in no way an endorsement of his candidacy, the guy can sure give one heck of an inspiring totally prepared speech (sorry had to get that jab in).
Take advantage of these mixes, because as we start sliding into Summer, I won't be doing any of the Deep Editions for a while. Going into the next few months, my primary focus will be on the "House, Electro, Funky & Mainstream Club Editions".

Deep Edition 2008 v4 [Pt. 1 & 2]
Thursday Apr 24, 2008
Thursday Apr 24, 2008
Well, so much for the projects I had planned. It always seems that no matter what I try to arrange, my timing is always off. That's okay because you guys benefit from my delays. In fact, not only do you get my latest Deep Edition v4, tomorrow you get v5 as well! Hey, it's a twofer, not too shabby.
While this mix is definitely more down the deep house path with a little tech house thrown in for good measure, tomorrow's update will be a combination of progressive house and tech house just to mix things up a bit. Between both updates, you get the hottest and most current tunes in their respective genres. Not a bad deal at all.
I'm pleased with the way things are going for the downloads. Looks like we no longer have bandwidth concerns which make downloading less tedious. It also looks like many of you jumped on the iTunes bandwagon as well. I'm glad you like it. Make sure you click the "subscribe" button in iTunes to ensure delivery of my podcasts.
Those of you who do not use iTunes can still be notified via email updates or your favorite reader (i.e. Yahoo!, Google, etc.) So if you haven't done that yet, whatcha waitin' for? Also, you may have noticed I'm playing around with the track listing format. I'm providing a start time for each track that can later be used to split the files up for those of you more technically inclined. Star ratings and reviews will return after my break.
I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend like I am. I'll be back tomorrow with one last update before I officially take a break. Enjoy!

Funky House Edition 2008 Volume 2 | Pt. 1 & 2
Saturday Apr 19, 2008
Saturday Apr 19, 2008
I finally got this thing wrapped up. I thought I was being so smart and had this mix in the can before my Prog mix last week. So I figured I'd hold out for Mariah's TMB (David Morales Mix) which is supposedly very funky. Unfortunately, that mix has yet to see the light of day, though I'm guessing a CD pressing may be in the works for a Perfect Beat exclusive next week.
Initially, I thought I wouldn't have enough songs to create this mix. Because I held out for the DM mix, new stuff continued to arrive. So yesterday, I went back and threw out the entire mix and started from scratch. I have to say, the end result kicks some serious boot-ay!
Some of you might be wondering...what happened to that funky new Bimbo Jones song? It turns out that the song is not new. Apparently, it was released two years ago. Consequently, I decided not to use it (though I absolutely love the song). However, there is some good news to this story.
Apparently, Bimbo Jones along with Katherine Ellis (who I absolutely adore...watch out Kristine W) has signed a deal with Tommy Boy Records here in the U.S. to release a full album sometime this summer. There is no doubt that BJ has been hot, hot, hot lately. However, "Harlem One Stop" shows an element of their production style that I haven't seen until now. Needless to say, I'm ecstatic about this project and will keep everyone posted.
In other news, I've finally got listed on iTunes and will now be providing a download link for those of you that use the service. I also managed to work out a really good deal with Podbean which will significantly lower my overhead costs and provide unlimited bandwidth. That's right, you heard it...unlimited! If you have read my recent posting in the chatterbox, you'd see that my 4shared account was overwhelmed recently.
Apparently, my Deep Edition v3 was posted on a Russian music site and generated a lot of traffic and downloads. According to their site, by law, they weren't allowed to provide a direct link to the mix. Instead, they provided a link back to my site. Glad they loved the mix, but it ate up all my bandwidth much sooner than normal. Needless to say, this will no longer be an issue.
Finally, you'll notice that I'm slowly implementing changes to this blog. More significantly, I've now added "donation" buttons for the mixes. Even though I've managed to lower my costs in one area, there's not much I can do in another. Better than 2/3 of the music in the mixes has been purchased through one of the legal download services. As you all know, this ain't cheap. You might say, well why don't you hunt it down? For one, I prefer to support the artists whenever possible.
Two, there's not enough time in my day to hunt down this that and the other. Three, as a product of the "gimme more now" generation, I want what I want when I want it : ) So, if you like what I'm providing, how 'bout hooking a brother up with a small donation. $5 every other month or so ain't going to break the bank and collectively goes a long way towards my overall costs. At the very least, please leave some comments and let me know what you think. Sometimes I feel like a cheap one night stand where people just come in and bang and leave. Geez, I feel so used ; )
Alright, that's enough whining for now. Just want to remind you all that I will be taking a sabbatical for the next two weeks to work on other projects that I've neglected. I'll be back with the next installment of the "Deep Edition". Until then, shake, shake, shake (your boot-ay) like there's no tomorrow! Have a great weekend and as always...Enjoy!

Progressive Edition 2008 | Pt. 1, 2 & 3
Friday Apr 11, 2008
Friday Apr 11, 2008
Well, I finally got the next installment of the Progressive edition up and ready. This is the official direction this series will take. That is to say, deep, dark, and very dirty. Lots of tribal and electric throughout.
This is for the hot sweaty men on the dancefloor. While this has never been my style, it's not hard to pick the songs I think will move the boys. Besides, I REALLY like making the cover art for this series...hehehe.
I've been backed up all week, so I cut out the information posted with each track. I don't think anyone is going to mind, because ultimately, it's all about the music. I'm in the final mixdown for the Funky Edition, which will be out next Frigay. After that, I expect to take a 2-week hiatus as I work on other projects.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and please, if you like what you hear, feel free to express yourself in the chat box to the left. Enjoy!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 4 | Pt. 1 & 2
Friday Apr 04, 2008
Friday Apr 04, 2008
Well, it's that time again for some Dirty Electro-Funk! As the last time, I had way too many songs and successfully managed to whittle it down to two discs. Not an easy thing to do, but when many of the songs are painfully redundant, it makes my job that much easier.
Did you check out the cover art? I was going for one of those cheesy K-tel albums from the seventies and think I achieved that. My mom always bought these compilations when I was growing up, so I thought it would be cool to bring it back. Don't worry, I'll bring back disco Barbie soon enough.
Also, just want to remind everyone, I'm currently working on the next installment of the Progressive Edition which will come out next week followed by the next installment of the Funky Edition (which is almost complete). After that, I plan on taking a break and will be back sometime in May. WMC is now over, and all the hot summer tunes start coming out. I'm expecting a sizzling summer for club music, particularly good ole funky house.
So all you electro-heads, get after it. I'll catch everyone next week with my Prog edition. Until then...Enjoy!

House Edition 2008 Volume 1
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Monday Mar 31, 2008
Welcome to the first ever Party Favorz: House Edition. Not quite deep enough for my Deep Editions and not quite Funky Enough for my Funky Editions, but definitely soulful and hip enough for a House Edition. There was just way too much good music to let go to waste. Let's face it, this is the music that got it all started back in the late eighties.
Granted, house music is just an extension of disco from the seventies, but it developed into a cultural phenomenon sprouting other offshoots of the style. Electro, Deep, Jack, Trance, Tribal, and Progressive; you can thank the origin from which you sprang. Like no other, house music is and always will be the foundation for all great dance music.
You may notice, this is an unusually long mix. Once I got started, I just couldn't stop. The whole thing flowed so well, I decided not to cut it in half. I'm guessing that most of you will just pop it into your iPod and won't care. Those that burn these mixes to CD, need not worry. Since most players these days support MP3 playback, just burn a "jukebox" disc (as Nero calls it) or MP3 disc as most others call it and you're in business.
I would have had this mix-up on Friday, but my bandwidth was shot as I knew it would be once I uploaded the Spring Edition. So, I decided to wait until today (April Fools) to share it. My bandwidth has reset and you shouldn't have any problems downloading. I've checked into Go Daddy for my future hosting and podcasting, and it's looking like I'll be using them.
Since I'm currently using two different sources for storage and streaming, it not only makes practical sense to consolidate but economic sense as well. Just to let everyone know, when I do that, the mixes might end up being encoded at 192kbps instead of the VBR Extreme I've been using. This is not for certain, it just depends on how much storage I purchase for the year.
I already got my next Electro-Funk Edition ready to go, and you can expect that on Friday. I also started working on the next installment of the Progressive Edition for all our shirtless boys in the clubs and will then begin working on the long overdue Funky Edition. After that, I plan on taking a break until May. In the meantime, for all of you who enjoy my Deep and/or Funky editions, this one's for you!
Enjoy!
Update: Oh joy...my bandwidth came back a day early! Besides, posting on April Fools Day has its risks. Even Mariah bumped her album release (originally scheduled for the 1st) to the 15th. Can you blame her?

Spring Edition 2008 | Pt. 1 & 2
Thursday Mar 20, 2008
Thursday Mar 20, 2008
It's the first day of spring, and it's time to celebrate! Last weekend, Atlanta got hit by a couple of tornados in the downtown area. This is a first, for the city. Saturday morning, the sirens went off and my partner and I turned on the television to see a massive tornado about a mile away from where we live. Thankfully, we scraped that one.
The only thing I truly dislike about this time of the year is the glowing yellow-green powder that covers your car once everything starts pollinating. That and my allergies tend to flare up, so I have to stay on top of my nasal spray or risk looking like the one-eyed beast after the other one swells closed. It's painful, to say the least and the headaches are incredibly powerful. However, today we've got clear blue skies and temps should reach up into the lower sixties. Hopefully, it will stay that way through the weekend.
I know it's been about two months since my Winter Edition, so I thought it was fitting to share my latest mix to kick off the first day of the season. How do you like the cover art? I thought a little "spring training" might be in order...hehehe.
I have to say, I am very pleased with this mix. I've managed to pull together a ton of new tunes + a few favorites from earlier this year. I also re-added "Breakaway" by Bill Bennett and Inaya Day, yet again. Why? Because it was never officially released last year and never got the push it so deserved. I added it to my 2007 Year-End Edition and predicted it would finally get a push this year. Well, guess what...I was right. It showed up on the April Mainstream Club Promo. This remake of the eighties dance classic by Big Pig is amazing and deserves the attention that I hope I can bring to it. If you go on over to Bill Bennett's website, you'll find that he's about to release an album in April and begin a nationwide tour to support it. Wait until you find out what the next single is.
Ah hell, I'll just tell you. It's "Fame" by Suzanne Palmer. Yes indeed, this is a remake of the Irene Cara classic from 1980. Should be out just in time for Pride. Additionally, he's loaded up the album with some other HOT tunes, including an original with Pepper MaShay. I fully expect this to be one of the best dance albums of the year!
One last thing of note: With the exception of my little plug for my candidate on the right-hand side, I've removed all references to politics from this blog and will no longer be pontificating about the candidates nor the primaries. I considered starting a separate political blog, but I figured I'd just keep harassing my good buddy ModFab instead. Frankly, I'm starting to get an ulcer from the entire mess and no longer have the stomach for the bitter divisiveness within the Democratic party. Whether it be Obama's judgement or lack there of, the inexcusable race baiting by the Clinton camp, the DNC chairman (Howard Dean) and the fiasco he created in Florida and Michigan or the vitriolic language being spewed between the supporters from both camps.
Last time I checked, we were all on the same side with one clear objective: to rid the Whitehouse of conservatives and take back our country. Instead, we've resorted to name calling and hurling insults to anyone that does not agree with our position. I too have found myself guilty of these charges, and don't really believe it's becoming of me, much less anyone else. When I read various news articles about the primaries and then browse the comments section, I find it disheartening to see all the venom directed at each other; often times from individuals who appear to be not much smarter than a 5th grader.
Frankly, I only march to my own drum and not some smarmy prick who's sole source of information is derived from MSNBC (gag reflex) or the Bible. Therefore, going forward I am finished trying to support my position. I'll just wait until the convention in August and pray that the party doesn't implode on itself. Frankly,

Deep Edition 2008 Volume 3 [Pt. 1 & 2]
Saturday Mar 08, 2008
Saturday Mar 08, 2008
Atmospheric, deep, dark, and moody would be the best way to describe this mix. Granted, the title alone suggests that. However, this time around I dug a little deeper and have made a firm transition into how the Deep Edition should sound.
After having just finished up last week's Progressive Edition, I made the decision that much of the slower-tempo progressive music overlaps with a lot of the deep house tunes. To me, progressive should be more about the uptempo harder sounds of electronica, which could include tribal or even hard dance. It's the slower songs that easily fit in with the deep tunes and add an overall different perspective.
For instance, while this mix is predominantly deep house, I managed to work in some progressive, tech-house, and minimal tunes. Other times, I find myself mixing in some Acid-House and low-key funk or just straight-up soulful. Going forward, I think all those elements will constitute my deep mixes in the future. I'll leave the heavier stuff for the prog mixes.
I also want to let everyone know that I'll be adding another category in the near future. I think a "House Edition" would be in order. You know, all the stuff that doesn't make the deep, electro, funky, or prog mixes, will now have its own classification. By doing that, I'll be better able to swap mixes out each month so as not to become stagnant and much less boring. I'll try it out and see how it works. Remember, I just started this site in November of last year, and it's still a work in progress.
As you can see, I've given the blog a whole new look and feel. I got to thinking about when I was a kid and my mom worked at the Port of Brownsville. She used to take me with her and I'd explore and play in the shipyards; that is until I broke my arm (what would be the first of many bodily accidents throughout my youth). I remembered all the rusted anchors and steel beams laying around.
So I decided to go for something industrial and think I've achieved that. It took several layers of pics to put this together in Photoshop. The preliminary feedback I've received has been positive. I was trying to make everything easier to read and navigate.
Also, please note that both download links will now be included at the top of the track listing. I think there are still many people not realizing that most of the mixes include two volumes and are not scrolling down to get the second. I also finally managed to fix the feed in my "Party Favorz" widget. Now, each post will display the cover art in the widget. So feel free to grab it and stick it on your blog, Facebook, MySpace, WordPress, or where ever you feel you need a party favor. Just click on the bottom tab "get widget" and it will pretty much do it for you.
Looking at my numbers in the traffic/downloads and seeing how they are progressively increasing on this site, I have a pretty good idea as to what people are digging. Clearly, the winners are the circuit and funky editions.
So just to let everyone know, my Spring Edition will be out in a couple of weeks, just in time for uh...well, spring. I've already started work on the next installment of the Classix Edition, which I'm totally stoked about. For now, just sit back and enjoy the sounds of the underground.
Have a great weekend!

Progressive Edition 2008 Volume 1 | Pt. 1 & 2
Friday Feb 29, 2008
Friday Feb 29, 2008
Well, it was bound to happen. After mixing up the free tracks from Beatport's 4 year anniversary, and receiving a tremendous response, I decided to add the Progressive Edition to my arsenal.
For whatever reason, Beatport took down those free tracks shortly after I put up my mix, and haven't posted anything since. I'm not sure what's really going on with them. They might be getting a little too big for their britches. I recently submitted a request to have access to their download links, so I could link each individual song directly back to its landing page.
They want me to pay $250 for the software to do that. Huh? Seems to me they are the ones that benefit from the exposure I'm providing them. In fact, I have yet to make a cent by promoting them on this blog. Well, you can rest assured, I'm not about to pay them for the linkage. I've checked into the Gay Blogads, and will most likely be using them in the very near future and remove all references to Beatport.
For now, I'll continue providing links back to them, but I will also be providing links to other sources when the individual song is not available on their site. I know, this goes against the terms of my agreement with them, but at this point, I don't give a sh!t. NOTE TO BEATPORT: You're suffering from a case of ABS (Arrogance Breeds Stupidity). Enough said.
After last week's mega-update, I decided it was time to get myself better organized. Once I receive and/or purchase the music, everything is processed immediately and is now filed in a folder for its specific genre. This allows me to better track the songs and spend less time in pre-production.
I also got some feedback from my partner, who really "dislikes" electro. He wants his funk completely separated. Which, is probably for the best. Let's face it, three discs for one mix was excessive. So here is the breakdown for the categories of mixes I'll be putting out: Deep House, Electro-Tech House, Funky House, Progressive House, Classic House, and Circuit (which are the holiday and seasonal editions). Ultimately, I think this makes more sense. I also want to make sure our folks like "Disco-Ball" get their fill of what grooves them the most. With that being said, welcome to the first official Progressive Edition.
I originally sat down to do this mix last Sunday but wasn't feeling it. I went back on Tuesday and knocked it out in a couple of hours. I've only skimmed the mix to check for errors. Ultimately, I think this mix kicks some serious ass! But then again, that's just my humble opinion.
Admittedly, I haven't had the time to fully preview the entire mix. So, I'm hoping for the best. The first mix lends more to Deep House than anything. It's slower from start to finish with a little "pick me up" ¾ of the way in; then drops back down again.
However, side two is much harder with some serious fragging beats going on. About ¾ of the way in, it drops down for a brief reprieve before closing out with a bang. I frankly like the way this was structured, since keeping the energy high for so long, can get monotonous. But, I realize folks would prefer to separate out the moods and I'll probably divvy it up over the two discs (slower/harder) next time around.
For now, all you prog heads out there, this one's for you! I hope everyone has a great weekend, and as always...Enjoy!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 3 | Pt. 1, 2 & 3
Friday Feb 22, 2008

First off, everyone that receives updates through an RSS feed (Google, Yahoo, etc.) or email, please go back and re-subscribe again. I know...I know, I just asked you to do that, but there was a problem with the new feed that I couldn't correct, and support from Feedburner is kinda lacking.
Consequently, I had to scrap it and start all over again. I can assure you, everything is now working correctly and there will be no further need to do this again. Your patience is much appreciated. For those of you who have not signed up for updates; whatcha waitin' for? Everyone that has signed up for the alerts, understands I update this blog frequently with brand-spanking new mixes. Even if you're only into one specific genre, it's worth it to not miss out whenever I post something new.
Now, onto the music. All I can say is WOW! 275 songs cut down to 76; 5 mixes and 400 minutes of the finest non-stop electro-funk, I think I've outdone my own personal best. Granted, knocking out 5 mixes in less than two weeks is time-consuming. I definitely won't do this again. Regardless, it's been fun. At this point, I wouldn't expect volume 4 until April (well maybe sooner, you know how I am). This will give me time to work on other styles. I'm not gonna say what's up next, let's just keep it a surprise for now.
With this mix, I've made a few changes to how I list and review everything. First, I'm not going forward with the YouTube videos anymore. I feel it drags the whole site down and causes poor loading. Those of you who are on slower connections may have experienced some issues since the last update.
The other thing is that I won't be reviewing each song as much. I may note a few things here and there when I feel it's necessary or just wants to add a humorous anecdote. So I'm replacing it with a "star" rating for each song instead. This will give everyone an indication of my own personal preference for each song. It doesn't necessarily mean the song is bad or good, it's just my own perspective. Anything lower than a 3-star, pretty much means I think it sucks. I guess you already know how that works.
I want to thank a few of you who answered my call for assistance. 4shared has a 2-4-1 deal going on with the bandwidth, so I bought another 20 gigs of bandwidth. Just a reminder, if you like what I'm doing please feel free to support my work and donate. If there's any question, I'm not getting rich off this blog. In fact, I have yet to make a cent off of the advertisements.
Everything that is donated goes towards my cost for storage, bandwidth, and music. I've had several people ask me why I pour so much of myself into this blog. Aside from the obvious, my love for house music, and it also keeps me out of trouble. [Big Grin]
I also want everyone to bear in mind, I'd like this blog to be interactive. So I highly encourage everyone to provide some feedback. Tell me what you like; tell me what you don't. I'm still kinda feeling my way around with regards to the site and the mixes.
Obviously, one of the biggest changes was to combine the electro with the funkier music. Frankly, I think that worked out really well. Instead of the mixes getting bogged down in one style, it puts you on a rollercoaster ride; so you don't know what to expect next. Any thoughts and/or suggestions on how to improve the site, the mixes etc. is ALWAYS welcome!
One last thing of note, there is a total of "3" mixes this time around. So please keep that in mind. You'll need to scroll down until you get to the next Podbean player for each additional mix.
I guess that just about wraps it up for now. The cold and rain should be clearing out later today, here in the ATL. I'm definitely looking forward to some sun and spring-like weather. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy!

Electro-Funk Edition 2008 Volume 2 | Pt. 1 & 2
Monday Feb 18, 2008
Monday Feb 18, 2008
Well, I've managed to finalize the first two mixes of the Electro-Funk Edition and they are FIERCE! The first mix is closer to what I consider electro-lite with some funky tunes rounding it out.
The second mix is predominantly harder, and not something you should be listening to while working out, or you might hurt yourself [grin]. Seriously, going through 275 new songs and cutting it down to 30 for this mix, was no easy feat.
Keep in mind, I've got Edition v3 I'll be working on shortly, which will contain another 30 songs. I should have it up sometime this weekend.
In the meantime, you can check out the mix before downloading with the Podbean player and hey, if you like what you hear, or totally think it sucks, pull a Janet out of your ass and leave some feedback...CRANK IT UP, GIVE IT TO ME COME ON!
Until this weekend...Enjoy!
